Op Rooppur XII: First Combat

A few bullets also hit the 4 of them but thanks to their clothes they survived. They run to the side and take cover behind walls. 5 gunmen are seen slowly approaching the cafe window. Jacob cries out, "These bullets hit like a freaking truck. I may have broken a rib or two."

Naomi replies, "No you didn't. This much force isn't enough to break bones. Get ready to fight."

Sohel takes his gun and turns the safety catch off. He asks ARIA why she didn't notify him of these people. ARIA replies,

"They were listed as security employees, boss. I also lost connection with the UAV a moment ago. I've lost all network connections."

"Tch. They've set up a jammer... .ARIA, run a local scan. Search for jamming frequency and where it is coming from."

"Yes Boss."

Sohel then turns towards his teammates,

"The enemy has set up a jammer. As soon as ARIA finds out the jammer's location, Mitali and Jacob will go and disable the jammer and call for backup. Meanwhile, Naomi and I will go and search for evidence."

The three of them say in synchronization, "Roger."

By that time the goons had reached the cafe. Sohel peaks out of cover and quickly shoots 3 bullets killing 3 gunmen successfully. Mitali looks at Sohel with awe. She sees Sohels eyes having a mixed look of sadness and ruthlessness. Naomi says to Sohel,

"So you've chosen your resolve huh?"

"Yes.I'm not going to hesitate anymore. At least I will not hesitate to kill those who're actually bad."

Naomi smiles a little. SHe also gets out of cover and shoots 4 bullets, but only one hits one of the alive gunmen in the arm. Sohel also gets out of cover and shoots 2 bullets which hits the two of them in the head. Jacob laughs at Naomi and says,

"Naomi, you should let me and Sohel do the shooting. Don't know when you might shoot us by mistake."

Naomi frowns while Sohel also chuckles. Mitali is shocked seeing them joking even in that situation. Sohel gets up saying, "That takes care of the cafe area." He takes a good look at the place. 7-8 dead bodies lying here and there while the people who survived were crouching while covering their ears with their hands. Sohels blood boils seeing this massacre. Aria speaks up.

"Boss. I've found the jammer. Very high power jamming signal coming from a signal tower on top of the south building. I've also found multiple heat signatures in the control room, the north building and the reactor room."

"Good. Aria,switch to assault mode."

Sohel tells them what ARIA told him. Sohel tells everyone goodluck and goes towards the control room with Naomi while Jacob and Mitali goes towards the south building.

South Building

Mitali and Jacob get to the lobby of the south building. Both of them shoot and kill the two gunmen stationed there. Mitali goes to the building wall map. The building was 6 stories tall. Jacob comes and stands besides Mitali. He says,

"We gotta get to the roof. So...….look. We can use the fire escape stairs."Mitali asks, 

"why not use the elevators?"

"We will be sitting ducks in the elevator ,miss Haque."

"Ohhh."

Both of them carefully reach the staircase. Jacob 1st then Mitali starts climbing up the stairs. Mitali asks Jacob,

"So, what's the relation between Naomi and Sohel?"

"Them? Yeah, It's pretty complicated. It's pretty obvious that Naomi likes Sohel. But understanding Sohel's heart is like reading a book in a language you don't know upside down. Sometimes he's the most funny person I've seen and other times he becomes the most serious person I've seen."

"When he 1st heard Naomi, everybody told him to stay away from her. To be honest I did too. But he went ahead and brought her into our squad. Everyone feared and respected Aerith. Nobody saw the lonely Naomi under that title. But he did. Since then They've been inseparable."

Mitali get's unmotivated. She only says, "ooh."

They reach the rooftop and see 4 gunmen protecting the jammer. Jacob whispers to Mitali,

"On my count you take out the 2 on the left and I'l take out the two on the right."

Mitali nods. On the count of three they empty their magazine on the gunmen. Thay run to the jammer.Mitali asks, "How do we stop it?"

Jacob chuckles, "Easy. We blow it up."

He brings out a small rectangular box tied to a rope. He ties the rope to one of the pillars 4 bases and comes back to the stairs. Mitali follows him. Jacob takes out his phone and does something and suddenly the box blows up with the tower's base. The tower falls off the roof on the yard.
