Chapter 110: It's Alive!

Seeing Pete shake his head, I furrowed my brows and looked at the skeleton; now that it wasn't in that murky water that somehow interfered with my eyes, I could properly inspect it. However, even after scanning every inch of its body, I found nothing remarkable; I'm sure it would help if I dealt with dead bodies like it was my job, but I didn't.

"What about you, Tut? Do you see anything?" Asked Peter curiously as he reached forward and moved the skeleton's body, looking at different spots on it.

"Nope, everything looks normal, but considering how that murky water was somehow stopping me from seeing further inside, I wouldn't be surprised if the corpse had something similar." Replied Tut with a shake of his head as he stood upright and folded his arms, slightly kicking the skeleton's head.

"C'mon, Tut, that was unnecessary, and you didn't need to do that." Said Peter with a slight frown as he looked up at Tut, who shrugged his shoulders.

"She's going to kill us in seven days; if anything, she deserves a little more than that, so relax- WHAT THE HELL!" Remarked Tut lightly as he glanced at Peter before once again kicking the skeleton, only for its arm to suddenly grab his ankle, causing him to yell and garner everyone's attention.

Feeling the skeleton's small, bony fingers tightly wrap around my ankle, out of pure reflexes, I kicked my leg away, barely able to control my strength in time, as I flung the skeleton while creating a massive gust of wind that destroyed the entire field in front of me. After that, I quickly looked at my ankle, making sure she wasn't doing something mystical to my body; after all, I used to watch the History Channel with Dad, so I got a rough idea of what the ghosts were doing.

"T-Tut, you okay?" Asked Peter worriedly as he ran up to Tut and checked on him while nervously gulping when he glanced at the destroyed field.

"Y-Yeah, I-I think I'm good, but you saw that too, right? That bitch was alive!" Replied Tut nervously as he sighed in relief before standing upright and glancing at Peter, who nodded.

"Hey, what happened?" Asked Gwen as she and Jean stopped playing around and rushed toward Tut while glancing out at the destroyed field, only to freeze when they saw a lone figure approaching them.

"The skeleton grabbed Tut's leg." Said Peter with a troubled expression as he looked at the two frozen girls while Jean shakily raised her hand and pointed in the distance.

"Y-You mean, that skeleton?" Asked Jean in a frightened voice, her words prompting both Tut and Peter to look at her before staring where she was pointing, only to freeze.

Off in the distance, in the field I accidentally destroyed, sorry, Dad, there was the skeleton I had kicked away; not only that, it was slowly approaching us with its head down, just like the girl from the movie, though I was unsure whether it was more or less frightening when it was just her skeleton.

"Pete, I'm tempted to strangle you right about now." Said Tut quietly as the four silently watched the skeleton slowly approach them.

"I'll ask you not to, but I can see where you're coming from." Remarked Peter while wincing as his eyes never once left the approaching skeleton.

"Can I get seconds? Tsk, I wanted seconds." Asked Jean and Gwen, respectively, while nervously gulping as they stared at the skeleton.

Exhaling a deep breath, I took to the air and floated closer to the skeleton; I was only freaked out since it caught me by surprise; I wasn't scared of a little girl, and I damn sure wasn't about to be scared of a little girls skeleton, I ain't a bitch.

"Eh, Tut, where are you going?" Asked Jean in concern as she glanced at Tut, who gave her an ignorant response.

"I'm going to beat this bitch ass skeleton up! It got me fucked up if it thinks I'm scared; the only person I'm scared of is my Mom." Declared Tut aggressively as he cracked his knuckles and landed on the dirt only a few meters away from the skeleton while the three watching from afar all glanced at each other.

"Tut can handle himself, right?"

"And if he can't, what the hell are you and I supposed to do, Pete?"

"Fair."

Landing on the ground, I got into a boxing stance and squared up against this stupid skeleton, which didn't even register my presence, though this was a street fight, so I cared little if this skeleton was ready for me or not. Stepping forward, I punched the skeleton's skull, destroying it on the attack while using my heat vision to melt every piece before repeating the process with the rest of its body until what surrounded me was nothing but a few ounces of ash that were barely even discernable amid the dirt.

'Now I swear to fucking god if you start rebuilding yourself.' Thought Tut as he intently stared at the ashes at his feet, going so far as to watch their very molecules.

Unfortunately, what I didn't want to happen happened; the ashes started moving together, forming the shape of a small bone before it became a small bone. Following that, the bone began to grow to a normal size; then more bones grew around it, and his process continued for several minutes; during that time, Gwen, Peter, and Jean arrived beside me, yet we just all silently watched as the skeleton slowly rebuilt itself.

Once it was fully rebuilt, the skeleton stood up and started approaching me, and out of curiosity, I moved out of the way, causing it to walk right past me without even giving me a second glance.

"It's heading to the well, not after us." Said Peter softly, Tut and Gwen nodding in agreement while Jean took a few more seconds to realize the well was directly behind them.

"Well, that makes sense, I suppose; it only kills its victims after seven days; it's only been two for us." Remarked Gwen lightly as the four followed the skeleton from a distance and watched as it approached the well before falling into it with a splash shortly after.

Nearing the well, we all leaned over the edge and looked down there, and we saw how the skeleton sunk back into the murky water. While doing so, it looked back up at us, and I could swear on my Dad's grave its hallow eyes glowed with a reddish light before it fully submerged itself.

"Pete." Said Tut calmly yet angrily as he, Gwen, and Jean turned to glance at Peter, who was backing away slowly.

"Guys, c'mon, instead of pointing blame, we should try and figure-" Said Peter nervously while backing away, only for Tut to lunge forward and wrap his two hands around his neck, lifting him in the air and dangling him like a certain father-son duo.

"If' we're going to die, you're dying first!" Yelled Pharaoh aggressively as he strangled Peter in the air.

"I-I c-can't b-breathe."

After our little adventure at my Dad's farm, I visited him and talked with him a little before the four of us hopped back in the truck and headed to our second location for the day: the place where the original well scene took place. However, when we arrived, other than it being unnaturally far away from the nearest cabin, there was nothing unique or supernatural about it in any way, so after a quick search, we left the place, and currently, we're in a rather isolated place thinking what to do next.

"So, um, this is an amazing view, Tut, but how are we not dying?" Asked Peter, sitting in the passenger seat, as he turned and glanced at Tut, who shrugged his shoulders.

"I don't know the exact reason why; when I first brought Sara here, she had a similar question; all I know is, my aura is making it work, so why bother further questioning it?" Replied Tut calmly, resting his hand on the steering wheel as he glanced at Peter before glancing at Gwen and Jean in the back seat, who were enjoying the view.

"I can't believe you've been holding out on Pete and I this long, Tut; this view is spectacular." Said Gwen lightly with awe as she looked around, marveling at the otherworldly sights.

"To be fair, I only awakened my aura ability two years ago; also, neither of you ever asked me to take you to the moon. I definitely would've taken you, Gwen; it would serve as a nice date for us." Remarked Tut with a raised eyebrow as he looked at Gwen through the rearview mirror before smirking and winking at her, causing her to roll her eyes.

"Yeah, and I still would've said no, I'm not interested in men like you; I like my men, a little more sophisticated." Replied Gwen with a mischievous smirk while Tut furrowed his brows and eyed her.

"So you calling me stupid?"

"I'm not calling you smart."

"Oh really? Don't make me bring up that math tournament we had in ninth grade; who got first place in the class after solving ten college-level equations in under a minute? I think his name starts with a P and ends with an H. Ah, there was also this one ugly girl who got second; if only I could remember her name. I think it starts with a G; mind helping me out, Gwen?" Questioned Tut with a mischievous grin as he turned and looked at Gwen, who sported a frustrated expression before huffing and looking away.

"Tch, stupid brute." Muttered Gwen under her breath while Peter, Jean, and Tut chuckled in amusement.

"Hehehe, you two would make a good couple." Said Peter with a sly smirk as he looked at Gwen and Tut, though the responses were varied.

"NO! I wouldn't mind, Gwen's hot. NO!" Stated Jean, Pharaoh, and Gwen, respectively.
