Chapter 213: The Time Lord Returns

[Third Person's PoV]

Everyone soon arrived back at the base, the low hum of engines fading as they jumped out of their cars and bikes, their faces etched with determination.

An awkward silence hung between George and Peter as they stepped out of their vehicle. Peter hesitated, opening his mouth to dispel the tension, but before he could speak, a synchronized series of beeps pierced the air—six in rapid succession.

Confusion swept over the group. Peter, Gwen, MJ, Felicia, Harry, and Lizzie instinctively raised their wrists, their communicators glowing a soft blue. The silence broke as Aria's voice, clear and urgent, resonated through the base's speakers.

"Attention, everyone. While monitoring through the satellite, I detected temporal radiation. It's coming from Times Square. Winston confirmed it—it's identical to the signature emitted by the Time Lord… He's back."

Felicia's eyes lit up with a feral glint, her lips curling into a grin that exposed the sharp edge of her canines. "Good," she spat, slamming her fist into her open palm with a resounding thud. "This time, Motherfucker not walking away. Not after what he did to me."

"Language, young lady," Aunt May's voice cut in from the corner, a touch of sternness in her tone.

Felicia winced, glancing sheepishly at her, and mumbled, "Sorry, Aunt May…" as she rubbed the back of her neck.

Felix, leaning against the wall, crossed his arms with an exasperated sigh. "Does this guy know no other locations? New York isn't the only place in the world for crying out loud."

Peter's smirk was quick and confident as he tapped the face of his watch. A seamless transition unfolded as his suit spread over his body, forming the sleek red-and-blue suit of Spider-Man. "Alright, team, it's showtime," he announced. "Let's put our plan into action. Gear up."

The others exchanged quick glances, determination mirrored in their eyes as their own suits materialized, sleek, battle-ready, and gleaming under the fluorescent lights.

"Aye, aye, Captain!" they chimed, half-joking, half-serious, before rushing toward the lab to grab their final gear.

Location: Times Square, New York City

The city's heart pulsed with life, but an unnatural stillness seeped into the air as Spider-Man soared above, his wingsuit gliding effortlessly on updrafts. He reached the site first, executing a flawless aerial flip before landing gracefully on the asphalt. Around him, the brilliant neon lights and towering billboards shone brightly.

Ghost-Spider landed lightly beside him, her white-and-pink suit catching the glow from the lights. Moments later, Scarlet-Spider, Spider-Kat, and White Fang joined, their movements fluid and precise as they spread out to cover the area.

From the center of Times Square, a swirling, ominous portal the color of storm clouds cracked and sputtered with energy, drawing a small crowd of spectators who snapped photos and murmured anxiously. Even the usual blare of car horns had died down, replaced by the clicking of camera shutters and the hum of engines idling in place.

Spider-Man reached into his utility belt and produced a small, square speaker device. He held it between two fingers, activating it with a tap. His voice boomed over the murmuring crowd.

"Ladies and gentlemen, may I have your attention, please!" he announced, turning heads his way. He grinned under his mask. "Will the real Slim Shady please stand up, I repeat will the real Slim Shady—"

Before he could finish, Ghost-Spider snatched the device out of his hands with a sharp glare. "Not now, you idiot!" she hissed, rolling her eyes.

Peter winced, rubbing the back of his neck sheepishly. "Sorry, sorry. Couldn't help it."

A few chuckles rippled through the crowd. Ghost-Spider sighed and turned to address them. "Alright, jokes aside, Sorry about that everyone… Now onto the serious matter at hand, we must ask you to please evacuate the vicinity as a dangerous villain is on their way here and could put you all in potential danger"

"IS THIS THE SAME VILLAIN YOU COULDN'T CATCH LAST TIME?" someone called out, the skepticism clear in their voice.

"Oi! Give us a break, will you? He's a time-traveling wizard," Spider-Man shot back, throwing his arms out theatrically. "It's not exactly in the handbook."

"Yeah, well, try harder!" another bystander shouted, smirking.

"You have to get it together Spider-Man! You can't just let villains escape!" Another shouted teasingly.

"Man, I am trying! Can't you see!? I may fail one but I never fail twice~ Now shoo, shoo~" Spider-Man said waving them off.

Right on cue, the two heroes descended from above, their presence commanding and reassuring. Ghost-Spider continued, "Nightwing and Firestar will oversee your evacuation. Please clear the area in an orderly manner."

One last voice called out from the retreating crowd. "Will this fight be on Instagram?"

Spider-Man's grin widened beneath his mask. "You bet! I'll even make it a cool montage."

The retreating crowd's excitement softened into a mix of cheers and concern. "Try not to break anything this time!" a final voice teased as the square emptied.

With the civilians gone, the atmosphere grew tense. Spider-Kat leaned against the hood of a parked car, watching Spider-Man pace. "How is it everyone's so casual with you?" she mused. "They talk to you like you're their buddy."

Spider-Man scoffed, crossing his arms. "Because I'm interactive, duh. I respond to their comments, like their fan art. You'd be surprised how much that matters and how much they are."

Spider-Kat's ears perked up beneath her mask, eyes wide. "There's fan art of us? Seriously?"

"Yup. I even leave comments sometimes. You should check it out," Spider-Man replied, his mask displaying a smug emoji.

Ghost-Spider tossed the voice enhancer back at him, her voice stern. "Enough. Get focused. This is serious."

"Yes, mom," Spider-Man and Spider-Kat chorused, rolling their eyes in unison.

Ghost-Spider gave them a long, deadpan stare.

Moments Later…

Spider-Man's senses flared, the hairs on the back of his neck standing up. The portal pulsed once, twice, and then a figure stepped out. Clad in an elegant suit, complete with a monocle and a top hat, the Time Lord adjusted his attire, a chilling whistle escaping his lips.

"Well, well. Were you all waiting for little old me?" he said, his tone as smooth and arrogant as ever.

Spider-Man's eyes narrowed. "I see you managed to recover your leg."

The Time Lord extended one leg, tipping his hat. "Indeed. A touch of temporal magic does wonders. Rewound myself to a time before that… unpleasantness. Complicated, as usual."

His gaze shifted to Spider-Kat, who stood defiantly with her fists clenched. "Ah, and you. Survived, did you?" he asked, his smile sharp.

She grinned back, deceptively sweet. "You'll wish I hadn't."

"We shall see," he muttered, eyes glittering with menace. With a snap of his fingers, a complex magic circle appeared at his feet, and time itself seemed to freeze.

He reached into his coat pocket and withdrew a pocket watch, its hands frozen as he inspected it with a frown. "Now then… how to best extract my revenge?"

As he stepped forward, his boot hovered over a yellow rune that glowed ominously on the ground. He glanced down, eyes narrowing as realization dawned. "A rune that functions outside of time? Clever."

Before he could react, the rune activated. Golden, web-like tendrils shot up from the symbol, wrapping around him and crackling with energy. The Time Lord's eyes widened as a surge of electricity coursed through his body. He grunted, body convulsing as the current locked his joints.

He fell to his knees, gasping, before managing to mutter through clenched teeth, "Let's… rewind this a bit."

He reached into his coat pocket and withdrew a pocket watch, its hands frozen as he inspected it with a frown.

"Let's try this again shall we?" The Time Lord smirked, he jumped over the first rune… only to land at the one ahead of it.

The second simply sent a thunderbolt from it that sent him flying through the air before he landed on his butt on the first one, which wrapped him with webbing and electrocuted him once more causing him to spasm.

"Rrrrrreeeewwwind!" The Time Lord stuttered as he was being electrocuted.

"Sigh... Were you all waiting for little old me?" he said, his tone as smooth and arrogant as ever.

He reached into his coat pocket and withdrew a pocket watch, its hands frozen as he inspected it with a frown

"As they said, Third times the charm…"

The Time Lord this time didn't take a step forwards or jump but took a step to the side only for another symbol to appear…

"MOTHERFUC–PZZZZZTTT" The Time lord spasm.

"rewind" The Time Lord said weakly on the ground, shakily raising a finger.

"Rewind the clock" The Time Lord said in a muffled voice as he was ensnared in a golden thread cocoon.

"Rewind again…" He said as he was covered from head to toe with little lightning spiders that were biting and electrocuting his skin with every bite.

"Rewind please" The Time Lord Pleaded as he found himself inside an electric shield that was made in the shape of a web. As he crouched down and as he touched the web electrocuted his finger, "Ouch!"

A Few hours later…

As the Time Lord exited the portal he let out a large annoyed groan, "YES! ALRIGHT! I GET IT ALREADY!"

"MY LEG IS HEALED!" He yelled as he stuck out and motioned to his leg,

"YOU MANAGED TO LIVE!" He continued as he motioned to Spider-Kat.

He then motioned to himself, "AND YOU'RE GOING TO MAKE ME WISH YOU HAVEN'T!" He snapped, "AND HONESTLY AT THIS POINT YOU'RE RIGHT!!"

Spider-Man and the others looked at each other in confusion.

The Time Lord bit his lip till a drop of blood slowly trickled down, "You crazy bastard! You seriously took time and planted traps all over the area! What the hell is the matter with you! Every freaking step I take I end up trapped, entangled, electrocuted, or burnt, and sometimes all at once! You're driving me crazy!!"

"BUT THIS ENDS NOW! I SHOULD HAVE THOUGHT ABOUT THIS SOONER!" The Time Lord spread his arms as a magic circle appeared beneath his feet, Temporal duplicates surged out from him and attacked all the traps at once, clearing the area from any trap.

All the duplicates were immediately defeated and dispelled as they activated the traps. He then snapped his fingers and froze time once again once all the runes were destroyed.

He looked like he aged up quick a few years turning into an adult from all the time resets and now turned close to an old man as he created all those time duplicates and froze time.

He then walked up towards Scarlet-Spider confidently and with a sneer, "As you all have so much time in your hands why don't I take some for myself."

He went and stood in front of Scarlet-Spider and placed a hand by her stomach to siphon away her time. However as his hands touched her stomach a rune shone in place.

He had a straight expression as he stared at it, "Butter biscuits"

The electrocution the time lord went through was so strong it charred his skin, and broke the time freeze spell he had on everyone.

Smoke rose from his figure as he crumbled to the ground, limp… Scarlet-Spider took a few steps back as she was surprised by his appearance.

However what shook them even more was how he curled himself into a ball and began to cry.
