Harvest Day

Nothing too significant happened in the afternoon. Elaina and Julia went to look in the forest for forage. And since Julia is helping, the progress and harvest of forageables are much more than usual. Also, Julia found more Medicinal Herbs than usual since Julia knew where to find most of them, allowing them to collect a lot of them.

Although Elaina hoped to sell them, Julia stopped her from doing so.

"Selling the herbs just like this without processing it into a potion is a waste! You can earn more money if we sell the potion-processed medicines instead of just selling the herbs!"

"Is that so? But the problem is that I don't know how to even brew a potion. If I can do that, I would have done so from the very beginning."

"No worries, Sis! With my help, tomorrow morning, we will have multiple options to be shipped to the shipping bin."

Seeing Julia very confident about it, she didn't stop her from doing what she needed to do. After their exploration, Julia left to buy empty vials as a container for potions later on. Elaina gave Julia some money to buy the vials and also to buy dinner at the Pub as well. She mentioned buying the food specifically at the Pub where Douglas cooks and asks for takeout for two of whatever food she desires on the menu.

Overall, the day ended peacefully, and nothing noteworthy to tell aside from the [Easy Rest] buff they received after eating the food that Julia bought from the pub. It made Elaina's body relax upon her sleep which is something that she really liked especially during a hard day's work.

The next morning came. Elaina thought she wouldn't experience the morning sickness but it seems that was not the main case. Because she was feeling bad for quite a while, Julia woke up much earlier than she should have due to the pain that Elaina had.

"You alright, Sis? You are looking pale. Should you stay in bed for a while? I can carry you there," Julia offered while Elaina was struggling to even reach the bathroom.

"I think I am fine...just needed to puke..."

Julia is also not so familiar with things a pregnant woman should do so without any knowledge of that sort, she decided to just use Pain Reliever magic. It might not help much but it eases the pain on Elaina a bit.

Around an hour later, Elaina was no longer in a bad situation and sighed in relief.

"Are you sure you are fine now, Sis? You should take a good rest for a bit. I can take over on your work for now."

Elaina wants to protest and insist but the god decides to intervene.

"[As passionate you are in farming, your health and the health of the babies are the most important thing. You shouldn't force yourself if you cannot do it. Rest for now and you can continue or join the work later once you feel like you have recovered.]"

Elaina sighed. If even the god that was watching her was also trying its best to stop her from going to work, it must mean she was overexerting herself.

"Then...please do it for now. You can check the crops and water them. A few of them should be ready to harvest as well, so be ready to pluck a few of them if they are already showing above the ground. Mostly the Parsnips."

"Alright Sis. Go and rest. You and your babies needed it. Don't worry about me, I can do what you just said!"

Elaina is a bit worried that Julia might not know much about things but with how weak she feels right now, Elaina has no choice but to just fall asleep once more.

...

...

...

An hour's worth of rest later, Elaina woke up once more but this time, without the nausea causing any sort of discomfort. She is also a bit hungry as well but when she looks to her side, she sees a plate filled with soup that is still warm but clearly getting colder after staying for a while in the open.

"Eat this once you feel better, Sis!"

A letter containing those words made Elaina smile before she started her breakfast. Although the food started going cold now, thankfully, it didn't, allowing Elaina to still enjoy it very much.

Since Elaina felt much better now, she decided that she would join Julia's work. After changing into her working clothes, she was about to head out when she suddenly heard a shriek coming from Julia.

Hearing this, she immediately grabbed her sword and checked on what was happening to Julia and why she was screaming. She is also worried that she might be attacked by a monster or something that she didn't know about.

When she arrived there, she saw Julia currently holding a bunch of potatoes in one plant. The potatoes are really big as well and Elaina was surprised that they are not small especially since they are clumped together. However, she immediately stopped thinking about the potatoes and looked around the place with her hands ready to draw out her sword.

"Julia? What is happening? That was you who shrieked just now, right? Are there any monsters?"

"Ah..." Julia scratched the back of her head in embarrassment. "Uh...actually...there are no monsters..."

"Huh?" Elaina frowned but she eased up her guard after hearing Julia's statement. "What do you mean, no monsters?"

"Yeah. No monsters. I made that noise earlier because of this bunch of potatoes. I was surprised to see lots of them in one harvest. And I have not seen big potatoes in one single clump harvest."

Potatoes usually get at least 4-5 tubers per one plant during harvests though it sometimes decreases where it will grow at least 2-3 big potatoes while Potato clumps consist of multiple potatoes that should be around 7 to 10 pieces per plant. Although 10 is pretty rare, they shouldn't be impossible to get. But compared to the normal numbers potato clumps usually are not a good thing as they will only have smaller potatoes compared to normal. Yes, they are numerous, but the size of a potato matters.

No matter how Elaina looked at the harvested plant Julia was holding, it was indeed a clump as she counted more than 5 potatoes in one harvest. However, they are big and they are as big as those potatoes that only grow in pairs. They are quite big and they are very healthy as well without any signs that it has been eaten by anything.

Elaina then realized it. Perhaps this is one of the unique traits of the plants given to her from the ledger or from the god? Is this perhaps modified enough for them to receive goods more than they should?

"This clump is much bigger than normal...not only that, but their sizes are also quite big as well."

"Yeah, I was so surprised that I released that noise unintentionally when I harvested them. I am also wondering how fast did it grow? We just planted it yesterday and now, we can harvest them already?"

Elaina went to the other potatoes as well and slowly dug the soil around before pulling the tubers out and just like what Julia harvested, the potatoes that Elaina harvested are all clumps and are big as well. It was something that wasn't right about this. Elaina also has no idea what to say about how this happened but then, Julia seemed to have realized something.

"Ah, perhaps the Rain Watcher from yesterday did this? If that was the case, then the things in the book were indeed true!"

Elaina suddenly remembered the creature yesterday and remembered that it would sometimes bless the area it was visiting as long as it wasn't chased out. Although Elaina didn't doubt the creature's power, Elaina thinks that it didn't grant the crops instant harvest, as the other crops she planted had not yet finished their growth cycle meaning, it didn't offer the effects of instant growth. But she didn't correct Julia about it. And besides, she does not know how to explain the matter to her especially since she is the only one who can see the almanac.

Elaina also checked the Parsnips she planted and she was delighted to see them big and healthy looking. Not only that but they also looked delicious even though they had not cleaned it up from the soil bits. And yet, it looks really good already. And based on how good they are, it seems their quality is top-notch.

"Looks like we will be eating real good tonight Julia. Look at all these vegetables, should we have some mashed potatoes this evening?" Elaina smiled.

Hearing this, Julia perked up. "Yes! Yes! Let's do it!"

With the new harvests, it seems that Elaina has a new goal after seeing the results. This will aid her a lot in her farming life this time around.

Inside a mechanical shop, a young man covered in grease on his hands and face appears from the front door and is greeted by the mailman. He was then given a letter that he didn't expect he would be receiving.

Upon opening, he frowned and read the passage of the letter again and again before he pocketed it on his apron.

"My sister ran away from the emperor? What did that bastard do this time?!"
