"Ahhh! My Wind Glider won't open!" Hu Tao yelled loudly, her mouth wide open in panic.
Below the clouds was not an endless sky but an irregular, deep pit.
The group was plummeting downwards into this seemingly bottomless hole. Hearing Hu Tao's words, Yun Jin also attempted to open her Wind Glider but found it impossible, just as Hu Tao had said.
Moreover, they couldn't access anything stored within their Visions.
It was the first time they had encountered such a situation, and Yun Jin's face turned deathly pale.
At this height, even if there was water at the bottom of the pit, the impact would surely shatter them into pieces, sending them straight to the afterlife.
Then again, with Hu Tao, the Hall Master of the Wangsheng Funeral Parlor, by their side, it seemed like they at least had the "right person" for such an occasion, if nothing else.
"The elemental energy here is highly unstable, even simple cycles can't complete properly."
"This is severely disrupting the elemental energy within us as well. The moment we try to release it, the chaotic external elemental energy scatters and absorbs it," Shenhe calmly analyzed as they continued to fall, showing no sign of fear.
Nolan also noticed this. While the elemental energy within their bodies seemed unaffected, any attempt to release it into the environment failed.
Whether they wanted to store something in their Vision's dimensional space or retrieve it, it all required elemental energy.
Since they couldn't release their elemental energy, they naturally couldn't take anything out of their Visions either, including the Wind Gliders.
"We're about to hit the ground! Think of something, quick!" Hu Tao shouted anxiously.
Without the ability to use elemental powers, they were no different from ordinary people, aside from their physical toughness.
"Don't worry. My adeptal power is unaffected by the elemental disturbances," Shenhe said, forming a hand seal as countless white talismans, formed from her adeptal energy, flew out from her body.
The talismans split into four streams, wrapping around each of them.
These talismans included "Lightness," "Weight Reduction," and "Feather Flight" among others, and they easily succeeded in slowing their fall.
Now, the group floated gently like feathers in the air. Although they were still falling, the reduced speed meant they wouldn't be harmed, no matter how high they were.
"Whew… that was close. Thank you, Shenhe!" Both Hu Tao and Yun Jin patted their chests, letting out a sigh of relief.
Nolan also felt the same. He had been about to use his spiritual threads to catch everyone, but Shenhe acted faster, so he stopped.
"What pure, dense adeptal energy... Haha, Gazer! Have you finally returned?"
Just as the group relaxed, a terrifying voice echoed from below. Like a soundwave attack, it instantly shattered all of the white talismans wrapped around them.
"Urgh..." Shenhe let out a muffled groan. The backlash from the disruption left her adeptal energy in chaos, and it would take three to five days to recover.
During that time, even basic movements would be difficult.
Without the protection of the talismans, the group once again began plummeting rapidly.
By now, they were almost at the bottom of the pit.
While the fall wouldn't be fatal, it would certainly leave them with broken bones.
Without hesitation, Nolan extended several semi-transparent psychic threads from the surrounding void, wrapping them around everyone, including himself, and stopping them mid-air.
They hovered about 30 to 40 meters above the ground.
Nolan then summoned more threads, arranging them side by side to form a flat surface. He released his hold on the group, allowing them to stand on the platform.
"Whew, you're reliable when it counts!"
Both Hu Tao and Yun Jin landed softly on the semi-transparent threads, their legs folded under them as they collapsed in relief.

"Uh, of course," Nolan replied with a smile.
His psychic threads had sensory feedback, and sitting on them was no different from sitting on him. The sensation was incredibly soft.
Hm... a very, very soft feeling.
Cough, cough.
As Nolan's thoughts began to wander, Shenhe suddenly clutched her chest and collapsed, coughing violently.
"Shenhe?"
Nolan hurriedly rushed over to support her.
"Could it be that the sound from earlier injured you?" Yun Jin asked, approaching with a concerned expression.
"Yes." Shenhe nodded as she caught her breath. "My adeptal energy was disrupted. I probably won't be able to move for a while."
"What?!" Hu Tao clenched her fists and gave a frustrated punch to the soft, translucent thread she was sitting on. It sank slightly under her fist but quickly bounced back.
She grumbled angrily, "It's all because of that voice! It hurt you!"
"Ouch!"
Nolan, having set the sensory feedback on his threads to high, suddenly felt intense pain where Hu Tao had hit, and he couldn't help but take a sharp breath.
"What's wrong with you? Were you scared by that laugh too?" Hu Tao looked at him with confusion.
"No, I just thought of a way to help Shenhe," Nolan replied, his expression unchanged as he shook his head.
"Then hurry up and try it!"
"Alright."
Nolan nodded as a golden figure, the "Lumine's Sword God," descended from the sky, landing beside them. This avatar, which could shift between physical and ethereal states, wasn't affected by the disruption earlier.
"By the way, why does your avatar look like Lumine?" Hu Tao finally asked a question that had been on her mind for a while.
Controlling the "Lumine's Sword God," Nolan released a healing barrier that he had gained from his elemental burst ability. Countless golden windwheel asters began to bloom and slowly spin around its feet.
Everyone within the barrier felt as though they were enveloped in a warm embrace. Shenhe's disrupted adeptal energy also gradually calmed down, like someone was gently smoothing out her tangled energy.
"Maybe I thought of Lumine's image when I first learned this ability," Nolan casually answered.
Hu Tao gave him a suspicious look. "I feel like you're brushing me off."
"How could that be? Who knows, maybe someday I'll gain some insight from you and develop a new skill," Nolan laughed.
By then, Shenhe, who had been sitting cross-legged, had recovered. She gave Nolan a faint smile and said softly, "Thank you."

Though her thanks seemed simple, Nolan could sense the deep affection behind her words. He smiled back, musing to himself.
"It's good that you're alright now," Yun Jin said, visibly relieved. After a pause, she continued, "What was that voice earlier? Could it be a demon sealed by Sea Gazer the Adeptus in this realm?"
She had heard the voice call out the name "Gazer."
"Who cares? It attacked us! There's no way it could be something good," Hu Tao said with a huff, casually sitting cross-legged. Her twin tails brushed against the translucent thread, causing Nolan to feel a ticklish sensation.
"True," Yun Jin nodded in agreement.
"In most cases, adepti have lived through long ages, including the Archon War. When they encounter particularly difficult-to-kill demons, they often choose to seal them and slowly erode their power. This one seems to be no different. Demons are highly attuned to adeptal energy, so as long as I don't use it, it shouldn't notice us," Shenhe explained, sensing that the demon wasn't nearby and that its earlier attack had likely been triggered by her adeptal energy.
After listening to Shenhe's explanation, Nolan nodded in understanding. "I see. But it injured you, and I can't just let that go. It's been sealed for so long, it can't possibly be as strong as it once was. I'll... ahem, I'll have my 'Lumine's Sword God' go down there and finish it off!"
"Classic you, always so reliable," Hu Tao said with a thumbs-up, though her expression betrayed a hint of exasperation.
Despite her words, Hu Tao agreed with Nolan. It was better to avoid unnecessary risks, especially when facing an unknown demon.
Thud!
The "Lumine's Sword God," about the size of a normal person, fell from the sky, its dazzling golden high-heeled boots landing heavily on the ground below, sending cracks spidering out across the surface.
There was only one path leading deeper into the darkness, and the only source of light came from the "Lumine's Sword God."
Nolan had no intention of hiding, deliberately drawing the attention of whatever was inside. He guided the "Lumine's Sword God" recklessly forward while simultaneously describing what he saw to the group.
At first, the passage was pitch black, lined with torch mechanisms that required pyro energy to ignite—something the avatar couldn't do.
Still, the darkness didn't impede Nolan, as he used his spirit perception to sense his surroundings through the "Lumine's Sword God."
After about ten minutes of running, Nolan hadn't encountered any monsters or adeptal traps.
It wasn't until he saw a faint light ahead that things started to change. The air was filled with thin wisps of black smoke. Whether it was demonic miasma or something else, it certainly didn't feel right.
Following the smoke trail, the "Lumine's Sword God" took several turns before arriving at a brightly lit chamber.
The light didn't come from the sun.
Instead, a massive magical formation illuminated the space. At the center of the formation was a giant demon resembling a toad. Its back looked like molten lava, bubbling with purple poison.
Just looking at it gave off a sense of danger.
Through the "Lumine's Sword God," Nolan used his Eye of Judgement to assess its strength:
