Chapter 266: Breaking the Weak Spot

With a loud crack, the vortex god's water-like head was pierced through, suddenly turning into what looked like a headless fountain.

"Did… did we succeed?" Paimon stared at the headless demon, thinking they had finally defeated it.

"Probably not that simple," Nolan shook his head. Even though the "Guizhong Ballista" used by the Adepti was powerful, defeating a demon god(Ancient God/Archon) wouldn't be that easy.

Speaking of which, Ningguang's level had appeared as 88 in his golden Judgement Eye, but her combat strength seemed far beyond that.

The sheer power of her attack suggested that her abilities might have even reached the level of the Adepti.

After blowing off Osial's head, the Adepti continued charging the "Guizhong Ballista" without stopping. Granny Ping and Ganyu also kept attacking Osial, clearly knowing that such a minor injury wouldn't be enough to defeat the Archon.

Back when they fought alongside the Geo Archon, the Adepti and Ganyu had already battled Osial before and knew how terrifyingly powerful he was.

Sure enough, just a few seconds later, Osial's heads regenerated effortlessly, as if water had merely refilled an empty space.

However, it was clear that the "Guizhong Ballista's" attack had still dealt Osial some serious damage.

Osial's eyes suddenly glowed red, and the clouds in the sky began to swirl like a vortex. An endless barrage of water bombs replaced the raindrops, raining down on the Jade Chamber below.

This was an unavoidable attack. All they could do was brace themselves for it. Ningguang stood still in midair, her platinum hair gently swaying in the wind.

She raised her right hand, adorned with a golden finger guard.

From her palm, an immense burst of Geo energy radiated toward the sky. The defensive array of the Jade Chamber was activated, and a translucent, diamond-shaped Geo barrier enveloped the entire structure.

With the enhanced power of the defensive formation, even an attack from a demon god was rendered ineffective against the Jade Chamber. The divine water bombs struck the elemental shield, only to be effortlessly deflected.

But Osial wasn't finished. Seeing his first move fail, he immediately unleashed his authority, creating a powerful vortex in the sea beneath the Jade Chamber!

In the blink of an eye, even with the massive buoyancy provided by the giant floating stones, the Jade Chamber began to slowly sink toward the ocean below.

It was a testament to Osial's power as a Demon God, a Archon—when he got serious, it was anything but easy.

"Oh no, are we going to sink to the bottom of the sea?" Paimon cried out in panic.

With both Lumine and Shenhe occupied dealing with the water elementals outside, she could only express her worries to Nolan, who was holding a bow.

"Yeah, this is definitely a problem," Nolan muttered.

While he, Lumine, and Paimon could use their "Interstellar Travel" abilities to flee to Fischl's location, the others didn't have that option.

If the Jade Chamber sank, it would undoubtedly result in massive casualties.

And with a demon god glaring at them from the front, even with the presence of so many Adepti, it wasn't certain they'd be able to save everyone.

Nolan once again used his golden Judgement Eye to focus on Osial.

Since the "Guizhong Ballista" had shot through Osial's head without dealing any lasting damage, that meant his head wasn't his weak spot.

What he needed now was to find Osial's true weakness.

"Have the Adepti aim the 'Guizhong Ballista' at that spot and deal a heavy blow to Osial. Perhaps that would disrupt his use of authority," Nolan thought.

However, something unexpected happened.

Nolan did not see any bright spots indicating a weak point on Osial's exposed head or body as he emerged from the sea.

This didn't make sense.

Since he could see Osial's exact strength, his "Eye of Judgment" should also be able to see through weaknesses, right?

Could it be that demon gods/Archons don't have weaknesses? Nolan pondered with a troubled expression.

But that shouldn't be the case. Everything has a weak point—could demon gods be a special exception?

At that moment, not only did Osial continue using his authority to increase the vortex's pull, but one of his heads, taking advantage of the "Guizhong Ballista" not yet being fully charged, extended its massive mouth as if it could stretch infinitely and bit down toward the Jade Chamber.

It was clear Osial intended to work with the vortex's force to drag the Jade Chamber into the water.

The Conqueror of Evil, Xiao, pulled out his green spear, infused with a massive amount of Anemo energy. With a light leap, he soared into the air and thrust it with all his might toward Osial's skull!

A violent whirlwind pierced through Osial's head, sending water elements splashing everywhere.

As Osial's head was impaled, part of his long, serpentine body—or perhaps it was his neck—seemed to lose its supporting force and collapsed into the sea as water.

But in the very next moment, another snake-like head emerged from the distant waters where Osial was located, seemingly unaffected by the previous attack.

"Ugh, is his whole body made of water?!" Paimon stomped her foot in frustration. Just moments ago, one of his heads had been destroyed, only for it to grow back in the blink of an eye.

"Maybe... yeah," Nolan responded while deep in thought, recalling the sight of Osial's head rising from the sea.

Suddenly, he considered the possibility that Osial's weak spot might lie within his submerged body beneath the water.

The more he thought about it, the more convinced he became. Nolan quickly cast his gaze toward Osial's body beneath the surface.

However, the reflection of the darkened sky on the equally dark sea blocked his view.

He couldn't see anything, not even a hair.

His golden Eye of Judgment could see through strength, detect weaknesses, and pierce illusions, but it didn't grant x-ray vision.

"Young man, are you facing some difficulty?"

Granny Ping, who had noticed Nolan's struggle, continued attacking Osial with her "Shockwaves" while asking him this.

"Granny Ping, I have a special ability that lets me see the weak points of enemies like Osial. Do you have a way to help me see through the ocean and view his submerged body?"

Nolan remembered that the Adepti could bestow their divine arts upon others.

In the game's story, the Traveler had, through sheer willpower, received the divine arts of Granny Ping, Ganyu, and Xiao, enabling them to display godlike power and defeat the Fatui's forces, thus protecting the "Guizhong Ballista" and keeping Osial suppressed.

Yet, in reality, even though the battle between the Jade Chamber and Osial had been raging for so long, there were no signs of the Fatui's interference.

It was unclear whether the storyline had changed and they had given up or if they were planning some bigger surprise.

Nolan had no way of knowing, so he remained vigilant, ensuring no opportunity would be given to them.

"Oh? You can actually see a God's weakness?" Granny Ping said, a hint of surprise flickering in her eyes, despite her millennia of experience.
