The men started moving toward him, their expressions blank but their intentions clear. "Wait!" Mo Zi Lin shouted, raising a hand as if to stop them. "You can't be serious!"
"We're very serious," Shao Wang said coolly, taking a seat as though she were about to watch a show. "You've overstayed your welcome, illegitimate child. It's time you learned your place."
Mo Zi Lin's eyes darted around the room. Mo Jing Ran stood smugly at the side, arms crossed, clearly relishing the scene. The aunts and uncles whispered among themselves, some looking smug, others feigning concern, but none made a move to intervene.
"Father!" Mo Zi Lin finally called out, desperation in his voice. "Are you really going to let this happen?"
Mo Ling shifted uncomfortably, but he didn't meet Mo Zi Lin's gaze. "It's for the best," he said quietly, his voice barely audible. "Just leave, Zi Lin. Don't make this harder than it has to be."
