Orion stood in front of Eric's portrait again, his expression more determined than ever. "Alright, I finally got a way," he said as he figured it out.
There was a smile on his face unlike how it was the last time. The child wanted to be the next Guardian, not more like he just wanted to get the powers of Guardian to stop Death.
Eric has to say that no matter how much ill-tempered and impatient the child is, he has to accept that the child is unbending and stubborn to the very end. At least the boy meant well. That was the only good thing Eric saw.
After all, he can only shutter thinking of an Orion who can pretty much destroy an entire nation in one of his teenage mood swings.
'Sigh.'
"What are you planning now ?" Eric asked, not giving too much attention to what Orion had to say. After all, if it was really that easy to make someone a Guardian, then he wouldn't have failed like that for this long.
"I'm going back in time. I'll find you before you die and get the Guardian inheritance from you. It's the only way to restore Harmony and become a Guardian myself." Orion replied with determination on his face.
Eric's eyes widened at Orion's words. "Going back in time?" he repeated trying to confirm what he just heard. "Orion, do you have any idea what you're saying? Time travel isn't something to take lightly. Even Merlin himself didn't use it carelessly. It causes paradoxes."
Orion remained calm. "I already know where is the Time Chamber Merlin created. If I play my cards right then I know it can send me back to the moment before you died with little to no tinkering. Just need enough magical power which I got in tons of already. If I go there, I can take the inheritance and restore Harmony."
Eric shook his head, a deep frown forming on his face. "You don't understand, Orion. Time doesn't work like that. You can't just go back and change things. Every action you take in the past will affect the future in ways. What you plan to do right now, there must be a version of you who would have tried the same and he definitely failed because I can't remember none coming when I died. If you or that version of you had come I would have remembered you."
Orion crossed his arms, clearly not convinced. "But if I don't do something, everything will fall apart. And hey, even if I can't get the damn power from you, this will solve the problem which I am currently facing anyway. I need time to train my new powers and get used to them before this stupid refinement, I am just here to know where I can find you in the past ?" just as Eric thought, Orion was unyielding.
Eric sighed, his voice softening. "When you mess with time, you risk creating paradoxes—Sigh, it's pointless telling you. There really is no point telling you this is it. Fine..." Eric can't help but give up on this.
"I can only hope that you succeed in your endeavour no matter how impossible it seems, but the cost might be greater than you realize. The world you return to might not be the one you left. Everything could change."
"I can handle that." Orion replies almost immediately.
"And what will you do if the Orion who comes back is not the same as you ?" Eric suddenly asked something which made Orion frown. He didn't get what he meant there.
"What is that supposed to mean ?" Orion asked with confusion.
"Times change people Orion. Maybe you don't understand but even if you come back... there is really no coming back from what you might witness." Eric replied to which Orion didn't reply at all.
It was hard enough to understand what the painting was saying anyway. But these words, what he just said, somehow it felt like he knew something. He already knows what he might find once he goes back in time.
Orion purses his lips, for the first time feeling that he might be really alone when he goes back in time.
"Do you know something... something that you are not telling me." Orion asked with narrowed eyes.
Eric didn't reply anything immediately, he sighed and then lastly replied.
"All I want to say is that whatever action you take, there is always a reaction to those action." Eric only said this much further confusing Orion. But ultimately he just shook his head and got ready to go with his plan. Right now that was the only way for him. This was he can have enough time to train himself and find a way to bring back Merlin, but at the same time get that overhype Harmony which is so hard to get. Even if the last goal is not achieved, then Orion might as well use that time to complete the first two goals.
"Tell me everything you know..." Finally Orion asked, ready to go with the plan nonetheless.
"Fine...

[Hogwarts]
"What do you mean you are not coming to Hogwarts anymore." Daphne all but shouted. At first, she didn't even register what Orion just said but then the outburst came from her.
Rose was no better. She was glaring at Orion like if he didn't explain then she was going to handcup him to herself to prevent him from going anywhere.
"Just as I said, I need something very important to do. That plus the fact that I have gathered way too much attention this year. I want to stay away from the limelight for some time." Orion replies, not telling them that he is going on a time-travel journey to save the world.
Heroes are not suppose to say this to their girlfriend right?
It's just that he ain't sure whether he is the hero of this story anymore. That and whether they both are his girlfriend. Its too complicated.
"What kind of thing made you skip an entire year ?" Rose asked with a baffled look on her face, clearly trying to find a way, any way to change Orion's mind.
After all this time dealing with Orion, both the girls knew that when he decided something he gonna see through it till the very end. Even both of them can't talk him out of this.
So, while he was just in his initial phase, he wanted to talk him out of this. Unfortunately for them, Orion was not just thinking about this... he long decided to skip Hogwarts from this point onwards, time travel or not he needed time to train which he would only waste by continuing Hogwarts anymore from here. Its not like the story gonna go like it did in the books anymore.
Voldemort is death and for short while there shouldn't be any danger to these two. Nick is also dead so this is the best chance for him to get out of here.
He was planning on killing Nick this year just for that reason. Honestly speaking he was a little sour not getting to kill that bastard but whatever, the boy was dead and there was nothing else he can do about it. Ultimately his goal was achieved.
"Sorry you two, I konw that I am being unreasonable here but I have to get going. Its important. I promise that I will come back soon. And by the time I do, everything will be okay." Orion replied, not wanting to talk about this topic much with them, otherwise he knew that he might say something which he shouldn't.
Hearing this both Daphne and Rose looked down, by this tone alone they could say that things are not as simple as he was saying and there was no way for them to talk him out of this. He was dead set on this.
"When will you come back..." Rose asked while looking down. Her face was enough to make Orion give up on his plans but he has to go through it.
"In a year at the minimum."
"So what is the maximum ?" Daphne asked with a wary tone.
"That....That I don't know. You see where I am going, it's hard to contact with you all, let alone keep track of time. But I'll come back as soon as possible so don't worry." Orion replied with a little reluctance. He didn't want to continue Hogwarts but he wanted to spend time with them.
Oh, he so much wanted to stop this endless grind now and just stay away from all this nonsense.
Its honestly strange that how he shouted of being the strongest in front of Merlin only to think like this right now.
"With Great Power Comes Great Responsibilities." That was the last thing Merlin told him before he got back from Fate World.
'Sometimes I believe that Merlin knew this gonna happen. Sigh...
Seeing both the girls not saying anything he suddenly moves forwards. At least before going he wanted to do this.
With a little magic, he pull both of them towards him and then suddenly wraps his hands around both of them.
"Lets go on a long vacation when I am back okay. No work, no grinding. Just us...
