Chapter 105 - Meereen

Asmodeus soars above Athena along the newly emerged continent to the southwest of Portugal. Choosing to fly along the outer side of the continent, the one embraced by America, he, along with some members of the squadron on broomsticks, explores uncharted territories, periodically returning to Africa to replenish supplies.

On the western shore, there is no place to rest. Asmodeus has been flying for three hours, occasionally lifting the alchemical instrument, a map, directing it towards the coast. This tool allows him to draw maps, capturing the landscape of the territory.

Thanks to Nicholas, all Asmodeus needs to do is raise the map every 10-15 minutes, depending on how fast Athens is flying.

An important detail is that he began his flight from where the guys on broomsticks concluded their exploration. Opening a gateway for himself and Athens, he flew southwest along the coast.

By the way, about speed. Asmodeus cannot say precisely, but looking at the map and comparing the distance they've covered with the remembered distances between cities, he estimates that Athena is flying at a speed of approximately 200 km/h, not insignificant. Although it doesn't compare to predatory birds, Athens is now comparable in speed to light aircraft.

After another three or maybe four hours, Asmodeus landed on the first island he found. Strangely, the island was completely deserted, not in the sense that it was a desert, but there was not a single person. Rock formations remained from the cooling lava, apparently ejected during an eruption, and a few less damaged ruins.

But Asmodeus didn't linger. After feeding Athens and having dinner himself, Asmodeus climbed into the saddle and fell asleep, wrapping himself in Athenas' wings. The next day, Asmodeus set out again. To his disappointment, the coastline became fragmented, and the island where he spent the night was part of an archipelago. As a result, Asmodeus had to loop back and forth in the air many times to create an accurate map.

Having completed the flyover of the archipelago, Asmodeus continued his journey. However, he lost a lot of time on these foolish islands, so after two hours of flying along the coast, he began to look for a place to spend the night.

Fortunately, one day, veering to the right, he saw in the distance a land beacon – apparently, a small island. Asmodeus considered it the best place to stop for the night. He hesitated to set foot on the continent without gathering information, so these small uninhabited islands were his best choice, even if they turned out to be inhabited.

If it's just ordinary people who won't interfere, he'll simply erase their memories. But if they happen to be something like pirates...

Fiendfire is a good spell for clearing territories. After flying for about 20 minutes, Athena circled the island. Convinced that it was deserted, Asmodeus decided to spend the night there.

Once again, after pulling a couple of unfortunate sheep from his storage bag and feeding Athena, Asmodeus settled down to sleep. Tomorrow he would continue his journey along the coast, hoping to find traces of unusual powers or mages.

As he flew, he noticed various cities, but nothing special caught his eye below – just medieval underdeveloped stone villages.

The next morning, he set out again, feeling quite bored.

Meanwhile, as Asmodeus pondered how to pass the time between holding the map in his hands, Daenerys returned to Myrin. Tyrion, looking miserable, was trying to justify to Daenerys why the city was under siege upon her return.

"Despite the noise, the city is flourishing."

"Boom!"

"Shall we go to shelter?"

"The city is flourishing?"

"Meereen is a strong city. Traders have returned to the markets, people are for you..."

"Boom, boom."

"Not everyone, of course. But not a single ruler supports all of them. The rise of Myrin has become the reason for the invasion. Gentlemen, they won't allow the city to prosper. If free Meereen flourishes without the lords' supervision, it means they are not needed."

"Okay. So, shall we begin?"

"Do we have a plan?"

"I'll crucify all the lords. I'll burn their fleet, kill every last one of their soldiers, and then destroy their cities. That's my plan. Do you not approve?"

Slightly sagging, Tyrion said, "Do you know what your father was like? Do you know what he wanted to do with King's Landing? I suppose not. My brother told me. Wildfire caches were placed under the entire city. The Guildhall, the Keep, the Sept. He would have burned everyone in the city – enemies, friends, women, children – that's why Jaime killed him."

"That's completely different!"

"You're talking about destroying cities. It's not entirely different. I would suggest an alternative approach."

"..."

After half an hour, Daenerys stood before the lords from the slave-trading cities.

"Boom, boom."

In the distance, the sounds of catapult missiles rotating in the city could be heard.

"Once, I offered you peace. If you hadn't been so arrogant, you would have returned to your homeland on ships. Now, you will leave the bay of the slave traders on foot. Like a beggar queen."

"We are here to discuss the terms of surrender, not to insult each other."

"The terms are simple. You and your foreigners will leave the pyramids and the city of Meereen. The Unsullied you stole will be sold at auctions. The translator you stole will be sold at auctions. The dragons in the great pyramid's dungeons will be killed."

"You seem to have misunderstood us. We are discussing your surrender, not mine."

The slave-trading lords glanced at each other, and with a smirk, one of them replied, "For you... It must be difficult to adjust to the new realities. Your rule. Is over!"

"Oh, I think it's just beginning."

Behind the slave traders, a strange screech was heard, and a second later, a dragon flew over their heads.

"ROAR!"

The slave traders watched in horror as Daenerys ascended on the dragon.

Meanwhile, Asmodeus, who had been flying on Athina for three days and was almost hanging himself out of boredom, finally noticed something interesting! Looking at the sea in the intervals between the monotonous raising and lowering of the map, Asmodeus saw a city about 15 kilometers away. But what caught his attention was not the city but the ships besieging it.

Initially, he had no intention of intervening. But then he saw something more important than exploring the continent's landscape. Finally, he saw something resembling the magical part of this world – a dragon.

"Athina, forward. Let's meet your relatives!"

"ROAR!" – What relatives!? I am the mighty Narcaruga, and those are just dragonlings...

Although displeased that Asmodeus was comparing her to supposedly weaker dragons, Athina still flew towards the city.

She's bored too, flying for three whole days... Although she finds comfort in being close to her owner, boredom is still deadly! With a jerk, Athina sharply increased her speed. Of course, not enough to break the sound barrier or anything like that, but if she had a speedometer, it would show no less than 290 km/h! Asmodeus held on to Athina while the wind tousled his hair.

"Oh, were you hiding your speed to surprise me? I admit you succeeded!"

Meanwhile, Daenerys was already engulfed in the pleasure of burning the slave traders' fleet and paid little attention to her surroundings. But Tyrion and the others who were observing the situation from above heard something.

"ROAR!!!"

A roar deeper and more powerful than ever produced by any of Daenerys's dragons echoed from afar. Tyrion turned around, his eyes widened, and he said, "This is... IMPOSSIBLE!"

From the clouds emerged a dragon of colossal size, with four wings! But most importantly, there was a rider on it! Under the astonished gaze of everyone, Athina approached the battlefield.

At that moment, Asmodeus, who was sitting on her, finally understood what kind of world this was. Gray hair, not tall, three dragons...

Even if he hadn't watched the series in his previous life, he would easily identify the person currently destroying the fleet using dragons.

"A Song of Ice and Fire, huh? Well, at least now I know who to get rid of and who I can help and leave alive," Asmodeus quickly processed the information and decided to join the fun.

"Athina, we haven't had a chance to assess your abilities after evolution, right? Play as much as you want!"

"ROAR!" - Haha, puny humans, die! My master gave me permission to hunt!

This time, Athina's roar was heard by everyone in the city and on the battlefield. Daenerys was also amazed – where did another dragon come from in this world!? And why is someone riding it!?

At first, she thought it might be a potential enemy, but seeing Athina's actions, she concluded that, at least for now, this dragon rider was not an enemy. What actions did Athina take? Like this: Following Asmodeus's instructions, Athina flew past Drogon and decided to destroy the ships that were slightly behind to prevent any retreat.

Without getting closer than two hundred meters to the ships, Athina opened her mouth. If she were an ordinary dragon, flames would have emerged, possibly of a different color. But Athina had undergone a series of evolutions, and she began to awaken her fiery lineage.

Energy accumulated in Athina's mouth. Fire and lightning. Only this lightning was peculiar, red in color. Athina's eyes glowed with the red color of rage, and upon Asmodeus's command, "Athina - Destroy!" a stream of almost black flames mixed with red lightning poured out of her mouth, instantly vaporizing the water beneath the ships.

While Daenerys's dragons burned people alive and set ships ablaze, Athina's flames literally vaporized them. Not even remnants of the existence of the ships or people on them remained. Perhaps some parts of bones might still recall what happened, but due to the steam that appeared after the water evaporated, the scene below became unclear.

Finishing with one ship, Athina moved on to the next, and the next, and the next... Until only a few ships remained, and even on them, there were no people anymore. They had long jumped into the water in hopes of salvation. The only downside was that not everyone managed to remove their armor in the rush of fear, so some drowned...

When the fleet was defeated, and there was no one left to fight, Athina released a couple of fiery streams into the sky in dissatisfaction, as if showing that she hadn't had enough fun.

At least, that's how the scene looked to Asmodeus. But for Tyrion and the others observing, this disaster looked completely different. They watched the battle below and would never forget this sight.

In five minutes, the four winged dragon destroyed 70% of the fleet! Fog began to cover the bay, but this creature was not satisfied. It seemed to express its dissatisfaction to the gods by sending a stream of flames and lightning into the sky!
