First day

Soon enough April rolled around, Denki had enjoyed his last bit of freedom before starting chool again. Walking up to U.A. and taking in the school properly for the first time alongside Momo, Denki truly felt that the school lived up its name simply from its imposing appearance.

High walls flanked the sidewalk, blocking any would-be assailants from entering the compound. Even still the giant glass structure, that makes up the bulk of U.A's main class rooms, can be seen overahadowing the plain walls.

Entering through the gate, it becomes obvious that it is heavily surveiled, thick steel lines the inside of the outer concrete ready to slam shut across the open entance should it be needed. Denki nods at the security measures, agreeing with their need and the level to which it's taken seriously.

This is the most famous training ground for future heroes, any true villain with half a brain would and has tried to attack here. Only through such rigorous safety protocols have none managed to succeed, atleast so far.

Suddenly, an excited squeel broke Denki out of his quiet observation of the complex. Turning to his side, he saw Momo shifting agitated from one foot to the other in a giddy attempt to contain her excitement.

Her eyes lighting up at anything and everything they set upon, taking in all that U.A had to offer.

A grin found it way on Denki's features as he saw this. "Excited to start?" He asked rhetorically, already knowing the answer.

Momo just rolled her eyes,"Well yeah, we are about to join the MOST prestigious institution for hero training in the whole of Japan!" Her voice rising the more she spoke till she was practically shouting at him.

"Yeah yeah, just keep your fangirling over All Might to youself, one shouty person is already enough." Denki jokingly bit back, as they made their way in.

However, before he could get very far they were waylaid by a lone figure standing in the main doors to the building.

They had decided to come early to school so that they could take their time looking around, so they weren't expecting anyone else to be here.

As they closed in, they noticed the figures short stature and distinct appearance. It was Nezu and he seemed to be waiting for them.

"Hello there Mr Kaminari, Miss Yoayorozu, do you mind coming with me to my office. I'd like to speak with you before class starts." Nezu greeted them. Denki looked towarss Momo conflictedly, he had agreed to go with her as they hadn't been together during the exam.

"It won't take but a moment." Nezu added from the side, noticing the problem quickly. Sighing audibly Denki turned to Momo with an agologetic look.

"Sorry Mos, looks like I can't come with you, save me a seat in class though." Denki said before turning to Nezu to lead them on.

"Fine, just stop calling me that! You know I don't like it." Momo responded fustrated by her old nickname. Denki had made it by shortening Mo mo to just Mo plural, but to her it sounded like a guys name.

Something that had only made Denki find it funny and like it more, much to her bemusement.

"Yeah yeah," Denki said offhandedly as he waved his hand, probably already forgetting what she was complaining about.

In Nezus office, a basic room with a grwta view overlooking U.A's training grounds. sitting across from each other in momentary silence, Nezu stares towards Denki in contemplation.

Breaking the silence the principle speaks. "Well done on your performance in the exam. Your written part too, I hear you turned it in with over an hour to spare." He again turns back to star at Denki, looking to see any reaction.

Would he be proud, humble or would he be arrogant. Denki simply nodded, "Yes well I can't say I was too focused on the time to be honest, I simply worked my way through the paper and handed it in when I was done."

Nezu smiled, humble while being aware that it was abnormal, good he knows he's talented so can better make use of it. "Yes and yet your practical performance far outwayed even that impressive feat."

Denki smiles slightly as his eyes narrow, too little for most people to have noticed but Nezu did. "Thank you..." Denki waits

"Please call me Nezu, I am a friend of you Grandfather after all." Nezu answers the unspoken question.

"Thank you Nezu, but can we move on from the niceties now. What made you want to talk to me in your office? I can't imagine it was just to say well done." Denki cuts through to the main topic, bored of the games.

"Sigh, fine as you wish." Nezu says noticably upset at having his fun messed with.

"I asked to talk to you because of your practical exam's performance. It wasn't just impressive it was near impossible for someone who hasn't even reached highschool yet."

Denki sat back a little more in his chair as he thought over what Nezu had said. It was true, his level of control over his quirk could already rival most pros and he was only 16!

Most would be content with that, but not Denki. He knew being strong wasn't good enough, you had to be the strongest. "Hmmm yes Im aware that most aren't that good at controlling their quirk yet but that still doesn't answer my question." Denki replied.

"Yes I know, I was just getting to that part. You see..." stopping for a moment Nezu thought how best to say it. "Well I can tell you like straightforward answers so here it is.

I would like you to help any of the other students in any way you can." Nezu blurted out all at once, slightly embarrassed at having to ask this of a student

Denki was taken aback, not quite expecting that answer. "You want me... to train my classmates?" He asked confused.

"Well no not quite." Nezu quickly says. "I want you to help any of them if you think of any ways you can. Your capabilities over you quirk puts you not just above them, but also above most pros.

You understand and have learnt how best to train your quirk, soo I figured maybe you could use that insight to help any classmates." Taking a breath Nezu almost races to add. "If you're willing that is."

Denki understands where Nezu is coming from. Years of indepth looking at how his quirk works has lead him to also be able to think of ways others might train theirs too.

"I will." Denki begins much to the happiness of Nezu. "But ONLY if I find them worthy of help." He ends, causing the light in Nezu's eyes to dim slightly.

Intrigued, Nezu asks him what he means by that. "I can't abide people who waste their quirk, especially those either show great promise or lack even the basic level of control. Something that came from watching all the arrogant, wasteful people who gloated while I trained then cried when I was stronger than them." Denki answers succinctly, used to explaining his disgust for untrained quirks.

"If I find any of my classmates who fit this description then I will refuse to help them, no matter what." Denki states definitively. They have no place training to be heroes." He adds with concrete belief in his words.

'They are more of a danger to themselves and their allies than any criminals.' He thinks to himself, not bothering to add it as his statement alone makes it clear.

Unable to find any faults in his logic Nezu reluctantly agrees, although he feels that Midoriya will fit that description all too perfectly.

'meaning All Might will be dissapointed.' Nezu thinks to himself dekectedly, knowing he is gonna have to deal with a sullen All Might, the only thing worse than him shouting.
