CHAPTER FORTY-THREE

"I want to take you somewhere." He leans down and whispers in my ear.

I roll my eyes, unable to bring up words.

"Common, let's go." He says with so much enthusiasm.

"The ceremony is yet to be over." I remind him.

"Who cares?"

Without my permission, Hendrix pulls me away from the crowd by my arm. By now, the pack house staff should be serving the guests with refreshments as they make merriment.

"Hendrix, what's with you? You're acting like a teen." I double my pace so I can catch up with him.

He looks back to find my face and keeps dragging me along.

"I'm serious, though." I scoff.

"That's because you make me feel like one every damn time." He teases. He has his way with words and he doesn't stop to rub it in.

Defeated, I allow him to lure me further like a prisoner at the mercy of his captor.
