A street vendor selling candied hawthorns approached, Ye-ge flagging him down before asking Nan Feng, "Do you want some?"
"Yes," Nan replied, laughing like a child. She had lost most of her cravings since her circumstances improved, but candied hawthorns were a treat she never got bored of.
Ye-ge bought two skewers and let her eat while walking.
As they were passing by a jewelry shop, Ye-ge suggested to Nan Feng, "Let's go in and have a look, see if they have any nice pieces."
"Sure, it's been a long time since I last bought new jewelry," Nan Feng said.
"It's all my fault," Ye-ge unexpectedly began to blame himself: "I've only ever bought you one white jade hairpin, you've been wearing it ever since. Let's see if we can find something more suitable for you."
"But I like this hairpin, that's why I've been wearing it," Nan Feng replied with a laugh. "I'm afraid other pieces might not look as good."
"No, everything looks good on you!"
