Time slowly passed, Nan Feng was still gritting her teeth, fighting desperately, while the wolf showed no signs of backing off. Her small hands were starting to give way, the wolf's hot breath coming closer and closer.
Nan Feng looked into the eyes of the wolf and saw a hint of triumph.
Just as Nan Feng was about to give up, she spotted her mother's arrow a short distance away.
The spear was not useful at this moment, but the mother's arrow was shaped like a short blade. As long as she could grab it, she could undoubtedly kill the grey wolf with one stroke.
However, she couldn't let go now. Once she did, the wolf would have a chance to bite her neck.
One hand had to hold the spear while the other grabbed the short blade.
Perhaps driven by the instinct to survive or an unyielding determination, Nan Feng suddenly roared and brutally headbutted the grey wolf.
The wolf was slightly startled.
On the battlefield, sometimes life and death can be determined in an instant. No matter how strong you are, there's no room for negligence.
Before you know it, Nan Feng had swiftly released her grip, grabbed the dagger, and plunged it into the wolf's neck with lightning speed!
The wolf's force on her suddenly disappeared and the fresh smell of blood dripped from the wolf's neck onto Nan Feng's eyes, onto her neck.
The grey wolf shivered a few times and then slowly fell over.
At this moment, Nan Feng no longer had any strength left either.
She lay down weakly, but her heart felt like bursting with joy.
She did it, with her small body, she defeated her first opponent!
However, after a short celebration, Nan Feng suddenly saw the birds in the forest panic again, flying up in an instant, with rustling sounds echoing throughout the forest.
Nan Feng's heart skipped a beat.
When birds scatter, it often indicated the presence of a large predator. Could it be another pack of wolves?
Nan Feng was now completely drained. The idea of another approaching wolf pack filled her with dread as she knew she could not survive another fight.
The trees rustled again, getting closer. Nan Feng pushed the body of the grey wolf away, held onto the long spear and knelt down in a heroic stance, ready to accept her fate.
If she had to die, she wouldn't go down without a fight.
Until, a figure dropped from mid-air in front of her.
Large build, cold aura, eyes full of authority.
Surely this couldn't be the humbly Ye Ge that she usually saw.
The sight of Ye Ge finally allowed Nan Feng to fully relax. Yet, as she let loose, she slowly fell down.
"Are you okay?" Ye Ge walked over and asked.
He returned to his usual laid-back demeanor.
Nan Feng forced a smile, "I'm okay, though you came at a bad time. You didn't get to see me battling with the wolf. I was very impressive, not scared like right now."
Then, she sprawled out on the ground with her limbs spread out.
Ye ge silently glances at Nan Feng.
Maybe he should have shown up earlier. "I'm sorry that I came late," he apologized.
Even now, Nan Feng still weakly replied, "It's okay. By the way, why did you come? Weren't you fixing the rooftop?"
"I was watching from the foot of the mountain. I would have come up if you hadn't returned before sundown," Ye Ge explained.
His calm demeanor warmed up Nan Feng a little. She couldn't help but ask, "But the forest is so big. How did you find me?"
"I heard the noises from above, so I rushed over immediately."
"Your listening skill is pretty sharp," Nan Feng joked with a chuckle, she was sure that Ye ge had used some kind of martial arts technique to find her.
