Tabitha already planned to pay careful attention to Hazel now that she was set to become queen. With Tobias acting the way he did, Tabitha had to work to make sure Hazel didn't start acting out too.

Hazel didn't have the same right as Tobias to behave as she wanted. Tobias was born royalty while Hazel was marrying in. There wouldn't be the same grace given to Hazel. 

Tabitha didn't like how Hazel's words came off like she was pointing out how she was failing to control the court and her son. Hazel's world would soon be flipped upside down and this confidence she had now would fade away. Tabitha would be here to help her and show her why they should have listened to her.
