"A small part of the streets of Gotham City has now become a war zone. A war where one side wants to devour the other while the other does everything to just stay alive.
After Batman's attack, Commissioner Gordon's police force set up a barricade to stop the vampires.
Initially, they didn't need to worry too much, but the vampires started attacking the barricade as the fight grew more intense in front of them.
The cops in Gotham have seen many things.
It's already dangerous to be a police officer, but a study shows that being a police officer in Gotham City is one of the most dangerous jobs in the world.
So, these police officers have seen many strange things, but they have never fought against a vampire before.
It happened, and two cops were bitten before they could shoot, which scared everyone else so much that they froze in fear.
That's when Jimmy moved.
He shot twice while shooting the vampires in the heads while they were focused on their prey from behind.
That was the wake-up call for the police, and they finally aimed their guns and began the counterattack.
"Where are my reinforcements, SWAT?!"
Jimmy shouted and crouched behind the open door of a patrol car while firing his pistol.
A lot of the police shots missed the heart or head from far away because vampires have healing abilities, and the police's aim is just average.
Therefore, they are losing a lot of people because they were unable to kill the vampires before they got close.
"They're stuck two blocks away, Chief!"
A cop replied while reloading her shotgun behind a patrol car.
Jimmy didn't respond or ask anything else.
He stood up once again after reloading to shoot, but he was surprised when a wolf jumped on him and knocked him down.
Jimmy released his weapon and held the wolf's head to push it away from his neck.
Jimmy turned and threw his body to the left when he smelled the blood from the wolf's mouth.
He grabbed his gun and raised it, but he could no longer see the wolf in front of him.
The wolf now transformed into a bat and landed on his shoulder.
"SHHHHH!"
The arrow passed a few inches from Jimmy's neck and hit the small head of the bat to kill it.
"What was that?"
Jimmy asked while looking to his left, where Speedy had just shot from the top of a car.
"You're welcome!"
Speedy shouted and jumped out of the car towards the ongoing battle.
Speedy was injured, had damaged clothes, and was almost out of arrows.
The fact that he had to retreat to the last line of defense indicated the difficulty of the fight ahead.
"Sir, we won't be able to hold much longer."
The nearest police officer warned Jimmy.
"I know, officer,"
Jimmy replied while looking around and seizing the brief moment before the next attack.
"Let's fall back and form a new line of defense on the next street."
Jimmy decided.
"But sir..."
The officer understood that by doing this, another street would fall into chaos, and many would die.
"I know, but there's nothing we can do about it."
Jimmy sighed while feeling the weight of his age and his decisions.
"It better be that your ace in the hole is good."
Jimmy said while looking at the flames where his possible ally was at the opposite end of the street.
...
"BANG."
"BANG."
"BANG."
Raven knew that her mission was crucial, and with every second she spent in this fight, a civilian was killed or transformed.
However, she also knew that if she let the vampire escape, one of her friends might die.
The vampire is a hunter, and his prey is the hero.
So, she tried to do this as quickly as possible, but the problem was that her enemy was not easy to deal with.
She had just teleported again when four shots came from the other side of the street, above a water tank.
She pulled her purple cape over her arms and legs to cover her body. The cape was filled with her energy, which protected her from enemy shots.
The vampire was no longer there when she took down the cape; he was running away to the other roof.
There have been four times when he shoots, runs away, and then shoots again.
Raven used her teleportation to make up for the distance, but the vampire also had his tricks.
The vampire was moving through walls by changing into a bat or mist, going through small holes in the buildings, and then disappearing.
Then the vampire would show up far away and shoot her again.
"Azarath Metrion Zinthos!"
Raven spoke softly to calm down. She was running out of patience.
Raven then tried something different to fly in the sky.
"BANG"
"BANG"
"BANG"
Another round of shots.
"Ha!"
She managed to defend herself with her cape, but one of the bullets bounced off it and grazed her cheek.
Raven ignored this minor injury and opened her arms. A raven appeared on her back.
The raven displays its six-meter wingspan proudly with its head up.
Raven looked down directly at the fleeing vampire. The vampire appeared like an ant jumping from this height.
The raven flapped its wings, and its feathers fell in his direction while cutting through the air like bullets.
The feathers were fast, but so was the vampire.
The vampire thought he had escaped when the vampire jumped to the neighboring rooftop as they were about to hit him.
However, the feathers made of dark energy curved in the air and changed their trajectory to pursue him.
Raven could feel the vampire's surprise from above.
The vampire quickly changed into mist and came in through a door on the roof.
Raven didn't mind; the feathers under her command cut through the door like butter.
These feathers are an extension of her power that she can fully control.
She could also sense what was around them for a few meters, so following someone into a building was not a problem.
She stayed in the sky because it provided a better overall view, which allowed her to figure out the enemy's next move.
"BOOM"
She could still hear the small explosion from above.
The vampire was trapped on the stairs, so the vampire went through the wall onto the rooftop, and the feathers tore a hole in it right after.
Raven became more daring in the open space, and he separated the feathers into two groups.
One group attacked from the front, and the other passed behind a building.
When the vampire dodged again, there was a group waiting right in front.
The vampire couldn't transform into anything before the feathers passed through her entire body to kill him.
She fell rolling on the rooftop and didn't stand up again.
Raven controlled the feathers, which made them surround her target while descending slowly from above.
The vampire had her arm torn off, and her rifle was lost. The vampire had cuts all over her body that were deep enough for her to see her bones.
It was a woman with short black hair and red eyes who had been wearing black military clothing.
It's possible that her face was pretty before, but the previous attack pierced it.
She struggled hard and dragged herself across the floor while leaving a trail of blood behind her.
It's possible that Raven's energy was making her cuts heal more slowly than usual for a vampire.
The vampire then made it to the wall and leaned against it to face Raven.
"Look at this, and they call us monsters!"
It was the first thing she said after seeing Raven.
This startled Raven and made her realize that the woman was afraid of her, not of dying, but of herself.
Raven had been enjoying the hunt and looked at the woman's sorry state with a big smile and red eyes.
"No!"
Raven shouted and turned her back to the vampire while placing her hand on her face with shame.
"They can't see me like this, he can't see me like this."
Raven spoke softly.
The blood of her father awakened and took over her, which hadn't happened in a long time because her friends were always with her.
However, she let down her guard now that she was by herself.
"Don't turn your back on the enemy, little girl!"
The vampire warned and pulled something from her back—a pistol.
"BANG"
"BANG"
"BANG"
The bullets hit the dark energy projection of the raven that appeared alone to protect Raven.
When the raven stared at her, the vampire smiled with blood-stained teeth, lifted the rifle, and fired several times as its beak pierced her heart.
The fight was over, and Raven sat on the ground to meditate to control her instincts.
"Azarath Metrion Zinthos!"
She wasn't useful in her current state, and she could lose control during a fight.
Raven would never allow her friends to be hurt or to see her the way she was now.
