[Sazama's Mansion Residence]
Sazama and the other guests overheard Shinro claim that the cartridge came from his company.
The attendees and the Suzuki family examined the cartridge held by Sazama, but it was difficult to discern its exact nature.
Sazama's eyes widened as he gazed at Shin and exclaimed, "From your company?"
Shin offered a faint smile, observing his grandfather's surprised reaction, suspecting that the gift might have upset him. Casually, Shin quipped, "What do you think?" while chuckling, playfully teasing the elderly man and the other guests at the party.
Among the Suzuki family's grandchildren and a few guests, concern grew about Shin's fate, fearing he might be asked to leave the birthday celebration and never welcomed back
However, what caught everyone off guard was Sazama's astonished gaze fixed on Shin, his voice tinged with bewilderment as he inquired, "What's your name again?"
The guests and the Suzuki family were taken aback by Sazama-sama's unexpected question.
Some questioned silently, 'Why is the elderly gentleman asking for his name?' while others wondered, 'Could he be experiencing a mental issue like Alzheimer's?'
Shin observed the old man with a furrowed brow, pondering, 'Why does he want to know my name?' and then speculated, 'Perhaps he intends to remember my name so he can harbor a lifelong grudge, or he wants to ensure my name isn't mentioned among his grandsons...' All these thoughts flashed through Shin's mind in an instant.
Before Shin could respond, his father, Shiro, regarded Sazama with a furrowed brow. Suspecting that Sazama might feel offended by Shin's gift, Shiro addressed his father, saying, "What's troubling you, Father? Don't you appreciate my youngest son's present?" Seeing Sazama remain silent, his gaze still fixed on Shin, Shiro added, "If you're displeased, Father, please return it to my youngest son, and I'll ensure he prepares a better gift for yo-"
Shiro was unable to complete his sentence before Sazama fixed him with widened eyes and erupted in anger, "Are you out of your mind? Do you expect me to return this splendid gift? I wouldn't trade this gift for a hundred million yen, let alone give it back!"
The guests and the Suzuki family who heard Sazama's words were left in awe, their attention drawn to the cartridge in his right hand.
Okuda Toyoda and Sazama's other friends examined the cartridge with curiosity, Okuda Toyoda wondering, "What could it be?"
Shin's uncles and aunties wore expressions of shock upon hearing his words.
Shiko, Seki, Shuichi, and Shuji, as well as Reina and the other granddaughters, appeared equally bewildered and taken aback.
Airi, Shin's mother, and Ruki, his second sister, shared looks of mild surprise.
Yet, Shin and Mira were equally astonished, exchanging glances while Shin slightly narrowed his eyes.
"What do you mean, Father?" Shiro asked in surprise upon hearing his father's words.
Sazama turned to look back at the cartridge and then, with astonishment, asked Shiro, "Don't you recognize this cartridge?"
Shiro and everyone who heard Sazama's words thought to themselves, 'How could we possibly know?' Though they harbored these thoughts silently, they couldn't help but be intrigued by what cartridge could provoke such a reaction from the elderly Sazama.
Shito, Shiro's second brother and Sazama's second son, approached Sazama and inquired, "Father, what cartridge is it?" His curiosity piqued, he couldn't help but wonder about the nature of the gift Shinro had given to the old man.
Sazama, however, remained unresponsive and continued to focus on Shin. He repeated his question, "You told me it's from your company, and I've never seen these video game cartridges before..." He paused and then asked, "Tell me your name again."
While Shito's face reddened slightly from being ignored, the guests and the Suzuki family paid no mind to him, their attention wholly fixated on why Sazama persisted in asking for Shinro's name.
All eyes were on Shin as he furrowed his brows and addressed the old man Sazama with confusion, saying, "I'm not sure why you're asking, and my father introduced me, but I can tell you..." His words hung in the air as the crowd watched with various expressions, ranging from curiosity to a mix of feelings, particularly among the Suzuki family members.
Sazama gazed at Shin with eager anticipation as the credits rolled at the end of KiShin's masterpiece video games, reminiscent of classics like Super Mario Bros.
Shin, seemingly unconcerned, replied, "My name is Shinro Suzuki." He paused and observed the old man's expression slowly transform into one of shock, silently wondering, 'What's wrong with this old man!?'
What Shin remained unaware of was that Sazama's mind was already racing with thoughts like, 'Shinro N. Sony! Shinro... Shinro Suzuki...' and the realization began to dawn, 'Shinro... Could my grandson be the owner of KiShin?'
While those around did not react strongly to Shinro's name, they couldn't ignore the profound shock etched across the old man's face.
Sazama's sons and daughters—Shiro, Shito, Shintani, Shigeo, Shimazu, Mai, Shira—approached their wide-eyed father with concern. Shito urgently inquired, "What's the matter, Father?"
Kumiko, Sazama's wife, also drew near, her eyes fixed on her husband.
Shintani, the third son, known for his intimidating demeanor, lashed out at Shinro, exclaiming, "What have you done to him, you rascal!?"
Shito added his voice, "Your gift has infuriated your grandfather to the point of speechlessness!"
Their wives joined in, accusing Shin in front of the assembled guests.
The guests, including Okuda Toyoda, shared amused glances. Okuda leaned in to his son, Bunko Toyoda, and remarked, "Look, this is like a drama." His words were hushed, but several attendees and onlookers couldn't help but stifle their chuckles.
Shin and Mira exchanged frowns, baffled by the situation. They couldn't comprehend what they had done wrong. Yet, Shin couldn't help but speculate that the old man might be experiencing a heart attack due to the perceived insult of the gift.
Shiro and Airi found themselves drawn into an argument with Shin's uncles and aunts who accused their son. Shiro firmly retorted, "My son didn't do anything!"
Airi added with reason, "Let's please be rational. My son hasn't done anything wrong!"
Shigeo, Sazama's fourth son, stood by Shiro and Airi, supporting their defense of Shin.
While some of Sazama's grandsons and granddaughters appeared concerned, beneath those expressions lurked a sense of satisfaction that Shin was shouldering the blame. Seki mused, "Oh, the fourth brother... Why did you return and bring us this embarrassment?" Meanwhile, Shiko pondered, "The fourth one only brings trouble!"
Reina couldn't help but chuckle, thinking, "What can you expect from a man who got married before me?" as she observed her grandfather, who stood there like a frozen statue. Yet, a growing concern was shared among them, "Is the old man having a heart attack or something?"
Shuichi, appearing anxious on the surface, harbored secret hopes, "I hope the old man left me some of Suzuki's shares..." And he wasn't alone; many others within the Suzuki family were nursing similar thoughts.
While Shiro had already called for medical assistance, Sazama's sons and daughters surrounded the elderly man, cloaked in concern. However, Sazama abruptly snapped out of his thoughts and bellowed in anger, "All of you, get away from me!"
Shito and the rest were taken aback. Shito inquired, "But, Father—"
Sazama roared once more, "Get out of my sight!"
With no choice but to comply, Sazama's sons and daughters retreated, giving the old man some space.
Then, in a swift and surprising turn of events, Sazama rushed to grab hold of Shin, who was about to depart with Mira.
Astonishment filled the room as everyone watched Sazama firmly grasp Shin's shoulder.
Sazama erupted with excitement, exclaiming, "Don't tell me... You're Shinro N. Sony!?"
Upon hearing Sazama's words, a wave of emotions swept through the room. Some were filled with mixed feelings, others were left confused, a few were shocked, several were astonished, a couple were even petrified, and many simply couldn't believe it.
However, the two who found it most difficult to accept this revelation were Shiko and Seki.
Why?
Their disbelief stemmed from the fact that they had frequently enjoyed playing KiShin's video games in their leisure hours and had a vague familiarity with the name Shinro N. Sony, which appeared in the ending credits of KiShin's iconic video games.
