On the continent of New Krypton,
Tower-like palaces, crystal-clear and magnificent halls.
H'el sat on the throne crafted by his subordinates for him. Though the throne looked impressive and majestic, it wasn't comfortable.
He leaned to the side, his right elbow resting on the armrest, fist propping up his cheek, adopting a comfortable and lazy posture on the imposing emperor's seat.
In the end, H'el did not agree to Highfather's request.
Ultimately, the information Izaya provided to H'el was of no use; it would only create anxiety.
Moreover, this information alone wasn't enough to sway H'el into assisting Highfather in attacking Apokolips
Highfather's army was too blindly confident and proud, having not engaged in wars of the same level for a long time. They lacked the iron-blooded determination to win; some only lived for Highfather's honor, pride, confidence, and blindness.
Cooperating with them, H'el felt he would be taken advantage of.
*Step, step, step...*
Footsteps echoed through the vast gates, and H'el glanced up slightly.
Under the slanting sunlight, Athena emerged, followed by Hades wearing his hood, a grim reaper disguise. Only his hooked nose was visible in the dark hood.
"Your Majesty, Hades has been brought."
Athena bowed lightly, politely reporting before intending to leave.
Regarding the Doomsday, she really shouldn't stay on the scene.
"Stay, I'll have something for you later," H'el stopped Athena from leaving.
The information obtained from Highfather made H'el understand that Athena placed her hopes on him.
Perfect, after finishing the conversation with Hades, he could test whether he had the ability to sever the connection between Athena and the main body.
H'el vaguely felt that the worlds on the other side of his vortex might completely cut off Athena and Highfather's connections from the main body.
Because those universe over there had no connection to this one.
The only thing connected to that universe over there was himself, who opened the vortex.
Later, he would conduct some tests; there was no need to run around, just stay put.
Athena halted her departure, stepped aside, and stood sideways, responding, "Yes, Your Majesty."
"Hades, did you come to tell me the location of the Doomsday? Speak your purpose."
With Athena staying behind, H'el leaned on the armrest, his voice spreading throughout the hall, echoing around.
He squinted at Hades, emitting a heavy pressure.
Hades felt very unhappy; as the controller of the underworld, a stellar-level power, he should be on the same level as H'el and Darkseid.
But Darksied only sent Steppenwolf to cooperate with him, while H'el, like an emperor, sent Athena, who was almost on par with him, to summon him.
It made Hades feel the humiliation of being inferior.
But thinking of scenes from the ancient cosmic wars between Darkseid and the Doomsday, he convinced himself that Darkseid was qualified and indeed powerful enough.
Thinking about how H'el faced Athena, Artemis, and Apollo, the two cosmic guardians, confronted them all, defeated and captured them, forcing Zeus to give up two authorities and 500 solar system-sized territories in exchange for the release of three Olympian main gods, Hades dared not directly confront this New Krypton Emperor.
"Emperor of New Krypton, the cooperation I will discuss with you may not be suitable for Athena to know," Hades glanced at Athena.
Athena held important positions in both New Krypton and the Olympus pantheon. But if the Olympus pantheon knew about the plan unite with H'el to attack Oa and disrupt the order and stability in the universe for so many years, they would surely oppose it.
And between New Krypton and the Olympus pantheon, Athena would undoubtedly choose the Olympus pantheon. This kind of thing was not suitable for Athena to know.
"Oh, is it? Is it about the interests of the Olympus pantheon? Is it about destroying the Olympus pantheon? Or is it you, Hades, wanting to take the position of the god king Zeus?" H'el said lightly, "If it's something like that, there's no need to discuss it. I'm not interested in the internal affairs of the Olympus pantheon."
"Not really," Hades shook his head. "It's just that if the Olympus pantheon knows, they will definitely oppose it, only increasing the resistance. And if you want to obtain Doomsday, it will also increase the difficulty."
H'el raised an eyebrow slightly and pondered for a moment.
What did Hades want to do? That would cause the entire Olympus pantheon to oppose it?
Did he want to destroy this universe and make it impossible for the Olympus pantheon to survive?
"In that case, I won't listen."
Athena glanced at Hades, closed herself off from the outside world, closed her eyes, and stood still.
H'el glanced at Athena, who was isolated from the outside world, then turned his gaze to Hades, as if to say, "Is it okay now?"
Hades waved his hand to cast a barrier to block Athena's perception. Only then did he relax and solemnly say to H'el:
"Emperor of New Krypton, I would like to invite you to join forces with Darkseid to attack Oa."
H'el hadn't expected Hades to be so bold.
Oa is the central base of the Green Lantern Corps, created by the cosmic guardians to maintain peace and order in the universe, a gathering place for the space police. Even Darkseid would not fare well if he were to attack Oa.
If one were not careful, they could easily be surrounded and sealed by the cosmic guardians, making it difficult to escape even to the ends of the universe.
"Why?" H'el rested his elbow on the armrest, arm against the armrest, back against the chair back.
He couldn't think of any reason to attack Oa and start a universal war.
H'el was domineering but not foolish.
Oa was too significant.
Without Oa, the secret of Earth being the center of the universe might not be maintained, inviting endless coveting and assaults from Darkseid. That would be troublesome.
At this stage, he couldn't abandon this universe.
"Darkseid has already decided to attack Oa and is recruiting enemies of the cosmic guardians across the universe to help. Both you and I have reasons to participate," Hades said, his hooked nose twitching as he smiled.
H'el lightly rubbed the armrest with his fingers, pondered for a moment, and then said with a glint in his eyes, "Is Doomsday sealed in Oa?"
H'el spoke in a deep voice.
Hades had made it quite clear.
If Doomsday wasn't in Oa, H'el had no reason to get involved.
Darkseid's goal was to enter the anti-matter universe from Oa and find the Anti-Life Equation.
But both Hades and H'el knew that Oa couldn't enter the anti-matter universe at all.
Therefore, Darkseid's grand recruitment to attack Oa would be in vain.
Instead, it would allow Hades and H'el to achieve what they wanted.
H'el needed Doomsday.
"What do you want from Oa, Hades?" H'el asked.
"The Black; Death power sealed by the cosmic guardians. I want to perfect my authority of death," Hades replied.
That's his way of detaching from the True Form?
H'el remained silent.
Hades was delusional to some extent. According to what he knew, the position of that "death" was much higher than that of Hades. Hades had no chance of controlling "him"; he would only become a vessel for "him" to possess.
"Hades, are you sure Doomsday is in Oa? If I can't get Doomsday, then you won't get what you want either. And as the price for deceiving me, I promise that the Olympus pantheon won't be able to protect you. You will die by my hands," H'el said coldly.
"Hehe..." Hades laughed. "I can guarantee it with my life. I will arrange for a meeting with Darkseid and us. We are on the same side."
"Very well. I agree."
