"Sister-in-law, this piece of meat costs two bucks in total," said the butcher after weighing the meat for Fang Xiu.
Fang Xiu took out her purse and handed over two bucks. She was having a good day; she had fortunately stumbled upon a meat stall. As she was mute, she refrained from asking about the price per pound, electing instead to choose a piece and weigh it.
Thankfully, she had brought enough money; otherwise, she wouldn't have had enough to pay for her groceries.
"Alright, please come again." The butcher handed the pork to Fang Xiu, his teeth exposed in a broad smile as he pocketed the money.
Fang Xiu gave a small nod after a soft laugh, holding the meat as she waled away.
"Oh my!" was heard from behind-- it caused Fang Xiu to take quick steps backward to regain her balance.
"Are you blind? Can't you watch where you're going?" the woman started ranting immediately.
