The banquet hall was packed with people. As soon as Lily Gray and Aidan Lucas stepped out of the elevator hand in hand, they were surrounded by onlookers.
This was the first time Lily had ever been the center of attention in a public setting.
The probing gazes of the crowd fell directly on her face, making her very uncomfortable.
Lily tilted her head slightly and unconsciously moved a little bit closer behind Aidan, her face pressing closer to his arm.
Such a move caused Aidan to pause in his stride.
"What's wrong? Are you uncomfortable?" His eyes were slightly downcast, and the usually cold look in his eyes was now softened by the warm light.
"No," Lily shook her head, her face flushed with embarrassment. "I've never seen such a grand event before... I've never been stared at by so many people at a banquet in the past."
Seeing the woman seeking shelter in his arms, Aidan's mood improved greatly, and he couldn't help but smile.
