Chapter 149: The Encounter Of A Demon and An Angel
"Itadakimasu!"
Everyone took their seats, and naturally, the customary pre-meal phrase couldn't be overlooked.
As breakfast commenced, Erina shot a slightly displeased glance in Hachiman's direction, the events of earlier still fresh in her memory.
Sensing her gaze, Hachiman responded with a subtle smile.
Erina's irritation was evident. She believed that Hachiman must be basking in his accomplishment, having seen her in nothing but her underwear.
Frustration welled up within her. She couldn't let it end like this; she had to retaliate.
Sometimes, a girl's thought process can be rather perplexing. Swimsuits and underwear share a similar style, yet wearing only a swimsuit is acceptable, while being seen in just underwear can induce embarrassment – a puzzling distinction.
Nonetheless, the girl continued to chew her food vigorously, as if taking out her vexation on her breakfast.
Strangely, it seemed that today's meal was even more delectable than yesterday's. Could it be that Hachiman's culinary skills had improved once again? Erina dismissed the notion, attributing it to her imagination, and took another bite.
Ah, it's really delicious...
Following breakfast, everyone began to tidy up, indicating that it was time to depart. Erina's car had been parked near the beach for a while.
"Goodbye!" Hachiman stood in front of the car, bidding farewell to Erina and the others.
"Thank you, Hikigaya-kun, for your hospitality these past three days," Hisako expressed her gratitude with a slight bow.
"Thank you, Hachiman-kun, I had a great time these past few days," Alice chimed in, smiling.
"Hikigaya-kun is such a charming young man," Leonora waved her hand as she spoke in her cryptic manner.
As for Erina, the tsundere girl made a light huffing sound and turned to get into the car.
Hachiman didn't mind, but just as he was about to leave, the car window rolled down, revealing Erina's charming face.
She bit her lip and finally spoke up. "Thank you for these days."
With those words, the car window rolled back up, and the car slowly started moving.
As the car drove away, Hachiman shifted his gaze away. At the same time, both Yukinoshita sisters entered their respective cars.
"There are too many of you, so it's a bit awkward for me to send you off," Haruno's face displayed a hint of apology.
Hachiman pointed to their stretched car parked on the other side and smiled, saying, "It's okay; we drove here ourselves, no need to trouble you."
"Well then, we'll be leaving," Haruno nodded to Hachiman's group.
"Thank you, we had a great time. Goodbye, everyone."
"Thank you!" Even Yukino, seated in the car, nodded in agreement.
As their cars departed, Hachiman and his group headed in the direction of their own vehicle.
With the engine roaring to life, the seasoned driver, Shizuka, set off once more. As they made their way back, not far from Hachiman's house, they spotted a young girl with a suitcase in one hand, a piece of paper, and a map in the other, as if she were searching for something.
"XX Apartments, XX Street, is it in this direction?" The girl was petite, barely reaching five feet, with soft, golden long hair and delicate features.
At that moment, a hint of confusion appeared on the angelic face of the young girl, as if she had lost her way.
"Um, may I assist you with something?"
A gentle voice reached the ears of the golden-haired girl.
Looking up, she saw a girl with shoulder-length purple hair standing beside her. This purple-haired girl possessed a captivating beauty that could rival her own, and her deep purple eyes held a touch of concern.
Observing the purple-haired girl in front of her, the golden-haired girl sensed a kindness emanating from her. It was clear that she was a compassionate person.
"Thank you. It's my first time in this city, so I don't know the way. Could you please help me find the XX Apartments?" the golden-haired girl requested with a slight bow.
"I understand. Although I've recently arrived in this city as well, I'd be happy to assist you in searching for it," the purple-haired girl replied with a gentle smile.
"Really? Thank you so much. You're such a kind person, and the Lord will surely protect you."
Upon hearing the purple-haired girl's words, a self-assured smile lit up the golden-haired girl's face, as if a ray of light had brightened her presence.
However, when the purple-haired girl heard the mention of "the Lord," her body trembled ever so slightly.
"So, you're a believer in God?" The purple-haired girl's heart carried a complex mix of emotions. While her own concept of God might be nuanced, it didn't deter her from assisting a believer in God.
Indeed, the purple-haired girl possessed a heart as kind as they come.
"Give me the address and the map, and I'll help you find it," the purple-haired girl said, steadying her emotions.
"You're really kind."
The golden-haired girl handed over the paper with the address and the map.
"XX Street, XX Apartments."
Upon seeing the address on the paper, the purple-haired girl breathed a sigh of relief. Fortunately, it was a location she knew.
"This place is not far from my apartment. I'll take you there."
"Really? That's great! Thank you."
In response to her words, the golden-haired girl's face blossomed with a delighted smile.
"Don't mention it. Come on, I'll lead the way." With that, the purple-haired girl took the lead to guide them.
During their journey, the two girls engaged in lively conversation and shared laughter. They quickly struck up a friendly rapport and exchanged introductions.
The golden-haired girl introduced herself as Gabriel White Tenma, while the purple-haired girl revealed her name as Vignette April Tsukinose. Their names hinted that neither of them was of Japanese origin.
Before long, under Vignette's guidance, the two of them arrived at a three-story apartment building that had an appealing appearance.
Across from this apartment building stood a two-story detached house with a sign that read "Hikigaya."
That's right, the apartment the two girls were searching for was located right across from Hachiman's house.
"XX Apartments, that's right, it's here." Standing before the apartment building, Gabriel beamed with joy, and she offered a slight bow of gratitude to Vignette, who had guided her.
"Thank you, Tsukinose-san, thanks to you, I was able to find this place," Gabriel expressed her gratitude.
"It's no problem, as long as I can help Tenma-san, it's all good. My apartment happens to be nearby too," Vignette waved her hand, dismissing any notion of inconvenience.
"I see that Tsukinose-san is also a high school student. I'll be transferring to Sobu High School next semester. If we have a chance in the future, I hope we can meet again!" Gabriel straightened herself up, her smile radiant.
"Sobu High School?! I'll also be transferring to that school next semester," Vignette responded in surprise.
They were both destined to transfer to the same high school.
"Really? That's great. If I can be in the same class as Tsukinose-san, I'll definitely be happy," Gabriel said with her hands together, her face brimming with anticipation.
"If I can be in the same class as Tenma-san, I'd be delighted too." Vignette also wore a smile.
As if it were destiny, they both felt an inexplicable sense of closeness to each other.
