Chapter 24. Thunder

"Suddenly, I'm happy that captain found us in the earlier parts of his career... Because it feels like he gets more evil for the second that goes...." Gaga sighed. The others nodded.

"Suddenly I feel like 'Demon Ace pirates' is such a fitting name." Yennow said

"Suddenly I feel like... Evil has reached new heights."

"Suddenly I wonder, how he can look so innocent and kind..." Nami whispered.

Law just stood there looking down on the waves that were hitting the black pearl.

Should he just jump down?

He could fight to death... Or should he just surrender?

Looking behind him, he tried to find some help from his close nakama. He saw Bepo eating a watermelon with Ronaldo, looking quite relaxed.

Law's sight returned to the sea, and he kept staring for 5 minutes as the waves silently waved at him.

"That should be 5 minutes! Wahahahaha, finally! I always wanted a crewmate that joined willingly... *Cough cough* Ehem, I mean... Err, A crewmate that..." Ace couldn't find his words.

"Fine!" Law expressed as his shoulder fell down.

Ace suddenly felt slightly bad, why did Law have that look in his eyes? As if he had lost everything and there was no point in living.

'Kids these days really complain a lot.' Ace felt slightly disappointed of his new crewmate.

Time flew by and before they knew it, a month had gone by and everyone was looking nervous as they had gathered together.

Everyone except Law and Ace.

"So what should we do, we're definitely lost at sea, and for some reason this doesn't work." Nami said as she showed the log pose that was spinning around in circles.

"Should we ask Captain?" Bonney asked as she chewed her food.

They all looked towards the front of the ship where Ace was laying on the ground, while pointing his finger towards the sky and shooting small flickers of flames. He seemed very engrossed in his flame play.

"Erm... Let's not disturb that dev... That kind hearted soul. How about Law?" Nami asked, as they turned their sight to the other end.

There they saw Law sitting depressed while looking into the sea.

"..."

Ace suddenly stood up and walked up to them.

"What's up?" He asked.

"Captain.. we're lost, this log pose has been taking us in circles for a week and there's no land in sight." Gaga said.

"oh, that's because we arrived a week ago. The island is up there!" Ace said as he pointed at a big cloud right above them.

"Captain that's a cloud, not an island." Nami waved him off.

"No, there's an island there." Ace said.

"..."

"I've heard of sky islands before, but I thought they were a myth." Suddenly Law appeared with a serious look on his face as he looked up.

"Sky islands?? Are they reaaaaaaaal????" For some reason, Apoo got a fright from that information.

"Yeah." Ace confirmed.

"Did you know this for a whole week... While I worried for nothing?" Nami suddenly asked in a dangerous voice.

"Wahahaha" Ace laughed it off.

"What should we do now then?" Nami asked the captain for orders.

"Hmm.... Wait here!" Ace said as he looked up. The he walked towards the ship's side and jumped off.

Before anyone could panic, they saw him blast into the sky as his lower body became blazing flames that carried him upwards.

Ace smiled as he flew up towards the clouds, he wanted to see what island this was and if there's anything of interest there.

As he flew higher and higher, he finally started flying through the clouds. It didn't take him long before he flew above the clouds and looked down. It was bigger than he thought so he landed on a hill in the Forrest.

"Wow, it's pretty!" Ace said to himself as he looked down. The island was crescent formed and there were two villages that he could see.

'is this Skypiea? Has Enel eaten his devil fruit yet?' Ace wondered as he looked around.

Suddenly Ace felt with his haki that someone would appear behind him so he turned around.

A thunderous sound echoed as a tall man appeared in front of Ace. His earlobes were long, going down to his stomach and he had a white bandana.

Ace had to slightly tilt his head up to meet Enel's eyes as Enel is 266 cm.

"What are you doing here, intruder." Enel spoke with a tone of boredom, and slight irritation as if he had to deal with an ant.

"That's quite rude, instead of an intruder, think of me as as guest." Ace said with a slightly teasing voice.

"Tsk, answer me mortal." Enels voice took a darker turn.

"Wahahahha, then what are you, an immortal?" Ace laughed.

"I am a God, the one that owns life and earth." Enel said as he raised his hand towards Ace.

"Oohhh scary, but isn't it weird that you have two eyes?" Ace asked with confusion.

His question halted Enels actions as he wondered what this intruder meant with his question.

"Well, isn't God supposed to be all-seing? But you need two eyes to see? And why do you have teeth? Teeth are for chewing food for survival, but God doesn't need food to survive. And why do you have to hands? God is all powerful and doesn't need hands to act." Ace shot his questions one at a time.

Which seemed to put Enel into a state of confusion, but it only lasted a few seconds before Enel found his resolve again.

"God is the strongest, I am the strongest." Enels said as he shot a lightning strong enough to kill an elephant from his hand. The lightning went right through Ace's chest.

At first, Enel was about to turn into lightning and return to his throne, but he stopped as he felt that something is wrong.

The intruder in front of him stood there smiling while the lightning went through his chest, and then his chest turned into flames and closed up.

"What abomination are you?" Enel asked as his eyes widened.

"The one that comes uninvited to your home and demand to be treated as a guest Wahaha!" Ace laughed out.

Enel realised that the intruder wasn't as easy to handle as he first thought so he got serious as the electric charge started going up in the area. Ace's hair started going up as if it was defying gravity.

Looking around, Ace could smell sulfur in the air and occasionally see blue sparks fringe off in the air.

"You made your biggest and final mistake stepping onto my place without my permission." Enel said as he started blasting Ace with thunder and lightning.

There was so much lightning that anyone who looked towards their directions would only see blue and white flash of light that lasted for 20 seconds as the sound of thunder echoed throughout Skypiea.

The people of Skypiea all hurried home in fright as they heard this sound, they knew fully well who this sound belong to.
