Their Ending

The four people's faces were ashen, drained of color, as if they had just endured unspeakable agony. Meanwhile, the remaining six lay sprawled, their bodies motionless.

As she studied them closely, a chill ran through her. Their bones appeared shattered and splintered, which explained their limp, lifeless positions.

"Wake up, you weaklings!" Xiao Li shouted, slapping each of them in turn.

Shenlian Yingyue hesitated, her mind racing.

"Damn it! If the Lord finds out how you've treated us, you'll regret it!" one of the men in black growled, gasping through the pain as he shifted slightly.

"We'll inform the Lord about everything! Let's see how long you can cling to life!" His threat dripped with venom.

"Return the beast to us!" It became clear to them that this woman was the root of their current ordeal. They felt an unsettling disconnection from their beasts.
