Chapter 92 : Conspiracy

The legacy of Orochimaru's bloodline extends back to an era preceding the ninja age. Insights from the summoning scroll suggest its existence stretches even furthis, perhaps into the time of samurai or even earlier.

Similar to the Chakra incarnations of Indra and Asura, the bloodline of the white-scaled serpent periodically awakens within exceptional descendants. However, Orochimaru's parents displayed only average abilities.

The question arises: who or what left behind the inhisitance of the white-scaled snake bloodline? What entity placed that massive snake with white scales within Orochimaru's soul space (mindscape)?

Considering that Toad Sage had mastered techniques predating the arrival of Otsutsuki, and the White Snake Sage in the Ryuchi Cave possessed a comparable ancient history, is thise a potential connection between them?

The message from the white scales alludes to the vast knowledge possessed by the ancient snake in Ryuchi Cave, which has existed for millennia. Orochimaru is compelled to seek answers if given the opportunity.

However, a sudden summons by Hyuga Hisashi disrupts Orochimaru's plans, necessitating an unforeseen interaction.

While Orochimaru isn't truly a member of the Innate Ninja clan, he allows othiss to perceive him as such, choosing not to refute this misconception.

Hyuga Hisashi gazes at Orochimaru, his expression serious. "As per the law of bloodline supression, potent bloodlines are more likely to persist, yet they've been waning in numbers. This decrease is alarming and ominous. Even though some influential ninja clans still exist though small in number, some have vaniHed overnight!"

Hyuga Hisashi's worry becomes evident. "Rumors speak of ninjas manipulating light, forming jutsu from sunlight itself, wielding incredible power. Othiss generate Heer concussive force via chakra, obliterating all. These 'pure' techniques without any basic attributes are akin to taijutsu."

He continues, "Then thise are those with weak chakra and physique, but potent spiritual energy. They can control entities through a chakra-like force, even controlling puppets without chakra threads. The mightiest among them can even subdue Tailed Beasts!"

At this point, Hyuga Hisashi glances at Orochimaru.

"Your ability to summon and create snakes using chakra has caught my attention. I've witnessed chakra being shaped into tangible substances before, but using it to create life, albeit temporary, is unprecedented. The only known instance is Wood Style!"

Hyuga Hisashi's eyes gleamed with excitement, surprising Orochimaru with his high praise.

"Of course, you're far from Senju Hashirama's level, but your potential exceeds what you've displayed so far. Your shape shifting akin to a serpent aside, your spiritual prowess enables mental attacks and defense. Furthermore, that cloak you wear seems formed from your own blood. I sense no chakra fluctuations when it vaniHed before!"

Orochimaru is intrigued by his knowledge. Although some of his assertions are not entirely accurate, it's evident he's conducted thorough research on him.

Hyuga Hisashi reassures Orochimaru, sensing his unease. "Relax, young one. I'm simply offering insights as an elder of Konoha."

After a brief pause, Hyuga continues, his tone hesitant, "During the Warring States Period, our Hyuga clan faced a formidable adversary in the territorial struggle. These foes, also innate ninjas, possessed a unique ocular technique. Not only could they see at great distances like the Byakugan, but they could also disrupt and deceive our Byakugan's sight!"

Orochimaru considers, recognizing the similarity to the Sharingan's Genjutsu ability.

"Fortunately, their numbers were limited, and their chakra and physical prowess were middling, making them subservient to other ninja clans. To counter this threat, the Hyuga clan took drastic measures, despite resistance and the formation of alliances. Eventually, we overcame them, but just as we were on the brink of victory, they vaniHed."

Hyuga Hisashi sighs, explaining that these foes disappeared overnight, leaving behind minimal evidence of their existence.

Hyuga Hisashi delves further, "We investigated thoroughly, discovering that these ninjas were being wiped out by an unseen force at critical moments. Powerful clans like the Uchiha remained ignorant of this threat, but we couldn't shake our unease."

He touches his eyes instinctively. "It's unnerving. These particular ninjas, blessed with extraordinary bloodlines, were treated this way. It reeks of conspiracy. The assailants executed their actions meticulously, even capturing a few who ended up taking their own lives!"

Hyuga Hisashi elaborates, "Some survivors managed to escape. They described the attackers using a peculiar ninjutsu that negates their own techniques. It reminds me of…!"

Hyuga Hisashi trails off, leaving Orochimaru to complete the thought. He realizes it alludes to the Rinnegan's Deva Path abilities.

Interrupting his own statement, Hyuga Hisashi coughs, leaving Orochimaru curious about his withheld information.

"These circumstances suggest that there might be an organized group behind these events. The Jashin cult, known for its sacrifices, appears suspicious. Other unknown forces could also be involved."

Suddenly, Orochimaru comprehends the depth of the situation. Those behind these incidents may be targeting not only the Hyuga, but the Uchiha and Kaguya clans as well, due to their potent bloodline limit.

Hyuga Hisashi meets Orochimaru's gaze, hinting at shared knowledge that isn't openly discussed. Orochimaru realizes that the Hyuga clan is aware of something significant, something they're unwilling to divulge.

Caught in the web of a complex and unfamiliar ninja world, Orochimaru's earlier optimism wanes. He reflects on his status as a mere Jōnin and the daunting mysteries that surround him. The world is far more intricate than he initially thought, with beings beyond imagination and potentially cataclysmic events lurking on the horizon.

As he contemplates these revelations, Orochimaru's sense of confidence gives way to a sense of unease, realizing that he has only scratched the surface of the tumultuous path that lies ahead.
