Aftermath

As Derek completely absorbed the remnants of the Morningstar Plane into himself, a loud notification sounded from the System.

[Ding!] 

[ You have assimilated too much power. Your current spiritual body cannot withstand this level of energy.]

Immediately, Derek was overwhelmed by a pain like nothing he had ever experienced before. An excruciating agony erupted throughout his entire being as the vast power surged wildly within. 

It felt as if every single particle that comprised his chaotic form was being ripped apart from the inside. A screaming torment clawed its way through him, beyond any limits of endurance. 

Before, when receiving the Mark of Twilight inscription, the pain had been bad but this was infinitely worse. That time, his physical body had borne the suffering. 

Now there were no such barriers or protections - just his raw spirutal essence being ravaged and shredded by the unchained might raging within.
