[The tenth question begins. Prepare yourself.]
[Nick Fury was assassinated by Alexander Pierce and fled to Captain America Steve Rogers' home, handing him a USB flash drive. What is inside the USB flash drive?]
[A. Evidence that Alexander Pierce is the leader of HYDRA]
[B. A list of HYDRA operatives embedded within S.H.I.E.L.D.]
[C. An algorithm capable of instantly killing a million people]
[D. The method to revive Johann Schmidt, the Red Skull]
[Answering this question correctly grants the ability to fly. Answering incorrectly deducts one year of life.]
"Ever since Nick Fury was assassinated, I've been curious about what's inside that USB flash drive," Tony Stark spoke up. "Now we finally have a question about it."
"This is the ability to fly," Bruce Banner said with envy. "Captain, if you answer correctly, you'll be able to fly, not relying on a suit like Stark does, but truly flying with your own ability."
"I hope I can answer it correctly. This ability does sound quite appealing," Steve Rogers couldn't help but feel tempted by the prospect of flying.
"Flying is really fun," Thor grinned. "The feeling of soaring in the clouds is beyond imagination for those who can't fly. Congratulations, Captain."
"Let's try to answer the question first," Steve Rogers pointed to option B. "I think we can eliminate option B for now. If it contains a list of HYDRA operatives, Nick Fury wouldn't have said not to trust anyone."
"That makes sense," Thor agreed, finding it reasonable. He continued, "Then we can probably exclude option A as well. If it's evidence that his former boss is a HYDRA leader, Nick Fury wouldn't have been so relaxed. Look, he found out his boss was HYDRA, but he still went out alone without bodyguards and even had the time to ask the police officer if he wanted to see his driver's license."
"Indeed, Nick Fury didn't seem prepared when he was attacked. If the USB flash drive contained that kind of evidence, he should have been more cautious about the assassination attempt," Steve Rogers said.
"What about option C, an algorithm to kill a million people instantly?" Thor looked at Tony Stark. "Stark, you have the most say in this area. Is it possible to have an algorithm capable of instantly killing a million people?"
"A pure algorithm can't kill people. Option C probably refers to the algorithm for some kind of weapon, and that weapon can indeed kill a million people in an instant," Tony Stark said. "If you're asking if such a weapon exists, the answer is yes, it does exist! However, weapons of this level cannot be owned by individuals or organizations; they can only be controlled by nations."
"Alexander Pierce is a member of the World Security Council; at his level, he might have access to such a weapon," Bruce Banner said.
"If the USB flash drive contains such an algorithm, it would indeed be worth it for Alexander Pierce to kill for it," Steve Rogers said, considering option C.
"What about option D?" Tony Stark asked. "Captain, no one knows the Red Skull better than you. Do you think he's worth reviving?"
"For HYDRA, he would be worth it," Steve Rogers said. "That man was ruthless and inhumane, willing to sacrifice anything to achieve his goals. He had great foresight and was far beyond an ordinary criminal. He was also a super soldier, although the serum he injected had side effects, it didn't prevent him from being much stronger than an average person..."
Steve Rogers paused for a moment and continued, "For us, he's undoubtedly the most detestable enemy, but for HYDRA, he's a leader who can lead them to glory. So if there's indeed a way to revive the Red Skull, I think it's quite reasonable for Alexander Pierce to kill Nick Fury for it."
"C and D, Captain, how will you choose?" Tony Stark asked.
"In the previous videos, Natasha Romanoff mentioned something called 'Insight Plan,'" Steve Rogers said. "We still don't know what this Insight Plan is, but it's unlikely to be a plan to revive some freak from World War II. If it's about some kind of weapon, the 'Insight Plan' would be more appropriate than a plan to resurrect someone like the Red Skull. Besides, in the video, we wanted to use HYDRA's DNA to infiltrate the sky carrier. The resurrection of the Red Skull probably wouldn't take place in the sky, right?"
"If it's about some kind of weapon, the 'Insight Plan' would indeed be more suitable than resurrecting some World War II freak," Tony Stark agreed.
"I choose C, the plan to kill a million people instantly!" Steve Rogers declared his answer.
[Answer Correct! Reward Granted!]
Then, nothing happened, and there was nothing extra on the ground.
"I can fly," Steve Rogers said.
He crouched slightly, leaped up, and whooshed straight into the sky.
"It's a pity I'm not wearing the armor; otherwise, I could compete with the Captain to see who flies faster," Tony Stark looked up at Steve Rogers soaring in the sky.
"I was thinking the same thing," Thor added. "Too bad I didn't bring my hammer."
"Neither did I. If I had a stone, I could just throw it and knock the Captain down from that height," Bruce Banner said. "Like a kid shooting birds."
Thor: "..."
Tony Stark: "..."
Steve Rogers didn't fly for long; he soon descended from the sky.
"Captain, how does it feel to fly?" Thor asked.
"It's absolutely amazing," Steve Rogers smiled, but the smile soon turned into a sigh.
"What's wrong, Captain?" Tony Stark inquired.
"I'm just thinking if I could fly back then, I might have saved Bucky when he fell off the train..." Steve Rogers' voice became low.
"Don't worry, Captain. We now know that Bucky is alive and who has him. It's only a matter of time before we rescue him," Bruce Banner reassured him.
"When Nick Fury was assassinated, I thought it was just a simple conspiracy or something. Such things happen all the time, and I've gotten used to it," Tony Stark said. "I never expected this conspiracy to involve the life and death of a million people!"
"When Loki invaded New York, how many casualties were there? Humans are directly involved in conspiracies that affect a million lives," Thor couldn't help but comment. "When it comes to self-destruction, you Earthlings are truly gifted."
Thor's words were truly philosophical.
Originally, the assassination of Nick Fury only involved Steve Rogers and Natasha Romanoff, and it seemed to be on a completely different scale from the battle in New York, where all the Avengers participated.
But unexpectedly, this seemingly "minor" event involved the life and death of a million people!
The number of casualties was much higher than the New York battle.
You see, what Loki wanted was to rule Earth, not to slaughter it. Even if the Avengers were defeated by Loki, the casualties wouldn't exceed a million.
The assassination of Nick Fury turned out to be an event much more severe than the invasion of gods and aliens! This was something they had never anticipated.
"This Alexander Pierce is too crazy," Steve Rogers rubbed his temples. "It seems that we can't deal with HYDRA the way we originally planned. Even if we expose them, we must act swiftly and decisively, cutting off all possible heads of HYDRA!"
"No, Captain, you're wrong," Tony Stark disagreed completely with Steve Rogers. "To deal with HYDRA, we must take our time, conduct covert operations, and only act when we are confident enough to eradicate them all. Because we have no idea how many crazies like Alexander Pierce there are within HYDRA. If we startle them and let some of HYDRA go into hiding, we may never find them again. You saw how well they could hide, and if it weren't for the answer space, they wouldn't have been exposed. What if some of those hidden HYDRA members are as crazy as Alexander Pierce?"
"Captain, you don't have to worry too much about Alexander Pierce," Tony Stark said. "In the video, both you and Nick Fury didn't let that algorithm fall into Alexander Pierce's hands when you were unprepared. Now that you're prepared, his conspiracy is even less likely to succeed."
"Bright as day, hard to guard against hidden arrows, I think even HYDRA won't frequently engage in conspiracies that involve the extermination of a million people," Bruce Banner said. "Captain, you should be glad that this conspiracy was revealed in advance. If you avoid exterminating Alexander Pierce to prevent this conspiracy from being exposed to other HYDRA members, they may secretly plan other conspiracies, and you won't know anything about it."
"Alright, I was too hasty," Steve Rogers was convinced by everyone's arguments. "Without thoroughly understanding HYDRA's situation, I will pretend to know nothing."
The space lit up, and a video began to play. A car slowly approached the entrance of a camp surrounded by wire fences.
Natasha Romanoff was the first to get out of the car, holding her phone as she surveyed the environment.
"Is this the place?" Steve Rogers also stepped out of the car.
"The files came from here," Natasha Romanoff said, tucking her phone into her pocket.
"Me too," Steve Rogers added.
The scene switched, and they entered the camp. The sky turned dark, indicating that Steve Rogers and Natasha Romanoff had purposely come in the evening to investigate.
"I used to train at this camp," Steve Rogers said, walking and observing his surroundings.
"Has it changed a lot?" Natasha Romanoff asked, walking ahead with her phone, seemingly checking something.
"A little bit," Steve Rogers replied.
At this moment, another scene appeared before Steve Rogers. It showed two soldiers jogging on the same path. After everyone had passed, Steve Rogers, holding a gun, was panting as he caught up.
Everyone wasn't foolish; they knew this was Steve Rogers reminiscing about his past training at this location.
In his memories, he was really thin and small, like a monkey.
Such a short, weak person wasn't suitable for carrying a gun in battle, but he never gave up. Through relentless effort, he became the widely recognized Captain America.
At this moment, seeing the small Steve Rogers in the video standing next to the present muscular Steve Rogers, everyone felt a deep sense of admiration for him.
"There's no show here, no heat signatures, no signals, not even radio waves," Natasha Romanoff's voice interrupted Steve Rogers' reminiscing. "Whoever wrote the program used the router to mislead others."
Steve Rogers didn't say anything but turned around and looked at a certain spot.
"What's that?" Natasha Romanoff asked.
"Military regulations state that within 500 yards of barracks, the storage of personal belongings is prohibited," Steve Rogers said as he walked with Natasha Romanoff toward a building. "This building is in the wrong location."
Bang!
Steve Rogers used his shield to break the lock on the door and entered with Natasha Romanoff.
When Steve Rogers turned on the light, a hawk emblem appeared on the wall.
"S.H.I.E.L.D.!" Tony Stark exclaimed in the answer space. "Could this be a S.H.I.E.L.D. base?"
"It's probably more than just a 'base'," Bruce Banner said.
"This is S.H.I.E.L.D.," Natasha Romanoff recognized the emblem in the video.
"Perhaps it's where it was founded," Steve Rogers and Natasha Romanoff began to inspect the building. As they entered a room, they saw some photographs on the wall.
"Father!" Tony Stark immediately noticed a photo of Howard Stark.
To the right of Howard Stark's photo was another photo of a woman, whom Tony Stark recognized as Steve Rogers' love interest, Peggy Carter.
"Who is this girl?" Natasha Romanoff asked when she saw Steve Rogers staring at Peggy Carter's photo, curious to know.
Steve Rogers didn't answer and turned away.
After a few steps, he arrived at a rusty metal rack covered in cobwebs. He stared at it for a moment, then reached out and pulled it, revealing an elevator hidden behind it.
