"Damn! What are these black flames damn it?!"

"It hurts! It fucking hurts!"

Faced with the sinister black flames of Damian, the warriors of the House of Winfrey cursed, and cursed some more.

The House of Winfrey, unlike the House of Luca, was a family of Spheric practitioners who practiced with the fire element, and as such have a great deal of affinity towards Fire Edict and all its variants.

The aforementioned, as a result, was especially the reason why the current scene was shock-worthy. As a family of Fire Edict wielders, weren't they supposed to be unfazed, or at the very least, the most resilient against the black flames?

And yet, the opposite was the case.

None, not even the powerful Second Sphere existences among the army, seem to understand what was going on. A tongue of the black flames was all it took to render their resistance moot.

And… and, this wasn't even the most shocking part of it.
