Caleb Mamet pushed open the door to the basement, slowly descending the stairs.
Xaviera Evans watched his retreating figure, closed the door, cutting off all sounds. Their grievances should be resolved by Caleb himself.
Two hours later, Caleb pushed open the door and came out, stained with an intense smell of blood. There were even small bloodstains on his black suit. He elegantly took out a handkerchief and wiped the fresh blood from his hands.
Then he sat down on a chair, closed his eyes, and took a few deep breaths. In a moment, his eyes returned to their light brown hue.
During these two hours, Xaviera had been waiting outside. When Caleb finally opened the door, she heard Jenny Green's screams, filled with agony and madness, echoing throughout the whole third basement.
"I won't let her die so easily," Caleb said nonchalantly. "This is just a tenth of what she added to my suffering. There's much more she has to endure."
