Upgrades People Upgrades - Season 1 - Chapter 13

(A beginning note, I've been sleeping on this chapter for like 4 days, as in I've had this chapter at 1000 words for a couple days but just never finished it, I've been dead tired and have had a lot of trouble sleeping, it's currently 9:10 am and I woke up at 1 am because of my sleep schedule, I'll try to write more, but I'm also starting a DND campaign (I'm the DM), I was thinking of actually writing a characters backstory as a book on the side for, so you might see that eventually, possibly not 100% guaranteed.)

So I'm gonna give the MC a placeholder name to call him bye from here on out, his name is gonna be Neo Sekai.

It took me forever to settle on a name and I ended up with this one, there is a reason why the first and last name are from two different languages, what's your opinion on the name?

(Also as far as all characters are concerned this is what he has always went by, so every time it has said Y/N L/N it has technically said this but going back and changing it would be obnoxious so I'm only gonna update the first chapter where his info is saying there was a name change.)

MC POV

Having given Todoroki to the worker bots Momo and I head back to viewing room.

Walking in quite a few sets of eyes land on us as All Might gives a bright smile.

"You both did wonderfully out there, though sadly Young (Yep she says it to) Jiro and Todoroki won't be here to hear the evaluation".

Nodding at her words everyone gathers around or actively listens in to hear what she has to say.

"Now as for the MVP of this round I'm going to have to give it to Young Neo, anyone know why?"

Everyone stays quiet for a moment before Momo raises her hand, All Might raises her eyebrow but nods at her to continue.

"All though I can't say what happened in the fight as I was upstairs I did manage to hear a lot through the earpiece, Neo was quick on his feet to realize that Todoroki was gonna try winning immediately and the second Todoroki covered the building he was already moving through the halls. After the fight began I managed to create a feedback loop between two megaphones and he immediately reported back the situation to me and even attempted to explain Todoroki's wrong doing to him".

Momo's analysis brings a smile to our teachers face as she nods at her.

"Yes Young Neo used his surroundings excellently and while still knowing to notify his teammate even when victory was close to being obtained, but that doesn't mean anyone else did any worse. Young Yaoyorozu and her intelligence to use megaphones as well as know her strengths and weaknesses and use them to their fullest, Young Todoroki trying to end it fast as to not let the villains retaliate though underestimating his opponents, and Young Jiro for quickly reacting and attempting to counterattack before even Todoroki could realize what was happening, though at the cost of her consciousness. At the end of the day you all did amazing"

Everyone nods at her words a few in deep thought.

"Team J can now head down to Ground B to get ready (Setsuna and Denki)"

Hearing this I turn to Setsuna giving her a nod and mouthing her good luck.

She nods back at this before heading off.

"Hey um.. Mrs. All Might?"

She turns around to see me standing beside her, a smile still present on her face.

"All Might is fine, and yes? Is there something you need"

"Yes, I was curious on the rules regarding suit modification, is there a specific way we have to go about it, like submitting the desired changes to our homeroom teacher or something of the sorts?"

Hearing my words All Might's eyes widen a bit before smiling a bit brighter.

"It's not often students are already trying to change their suits, but as far as I know you can talk to your homeroom teacher, have the modifications desired pre-written before talking to a teacher about it, might I ask what the modification's you wanted are? Call it teachers curiosity."

I suppose she is right, most students really don't change their suits often, from what I remember Aizawa had to personally have everyone change their suits as an assignment.

"Ah, it's a bit hard to explain, it has to do with a few things regarding some of my already made items and making them into other items"

How else am I suppose to word this... Explaining would take far to long.

"Your Grav Cores right?"

My eyes widen a bit at hearing her know the name of my Exo-Skeleton Orbs.

"Y-Yeah, how do you know about them though?"

"Power-Loader, he was ranting about them for a while, most of the time students in the Support Course work on your suits, but he personally took on your cores as they were far to hard for first years, even some 3rd years had trouble even getting the basics of it all, you had him ranting and working for a couple days on them."

Scratching the back of my head a bit I can only mutter a sorry, at this she laughs.

"It's quite alright, a lot of the staff members enjoyed seeing him have troubles, quite the spectacle to watch."

I nod with a small smile on my face.

"I would assume so especially from what I have seen from him online, but regarding my update/upgrade it does regard a larger version of them and a couple other things, though I can only assume I'm gonna make his work load a whole lot bigger with this next one".

My mind can only imagine how Power-Loader is gonna react and it seem All Might did the same as we both let out a light laugh.

"Thank you for assisting me, I'm gonna work on the designs for what I had in mind, I can only hope that I don't get on his bad side with this next project".

"Don't worry, even though he was ranting and exhausted from trying to figure it all out he truly enjoyed the challenge, though he was a bit defeated at the fact that he couldn't do it alone".

Hearing her words I perk up a bit, tilting my head in a bit of confusion, not going unnoticed by her she continues.

"Power-Loader is very intelligent but your project was a bit on the higher end of tech, I called an old friend, David Shield, to assist him. They both thoroughly enjoyed working on it, though didn't go into to much detail on how it worked for privacy reasons, only giving a name".

"I see".

Suppose the ideas I had relied on some specific tech to get it done, just glad it could get done in the first place.

"Again thank you for your assistance".

I give her a smile that she reciprocates before heading off to start working on my ideas.

MC POV (End of School Day)

'Ah right forgot to ask'

I stop in the hall glancing towards Setsuna who was walking with me.

"I need to ask Mr. Aizawa something, it probably be a minute, plus I had some stuff planned".

Setsuna gives me a nod.

"All right, see you tomorrow then" she gives me a smile and a wave before heading off.

I head off to find the teachers office area, though it takes me a couple minutes.

Knocking on the door I hear a grumbling deep voice on the other side as Aizawa opens it up staring at me with his tired expression.

"Can I help you with something?"

"Yeah, I had a couple questions I wanted to ask, it's regarding school stuff".

He lets out a deep sigh before walking back into the office signaling for me to follow.

The room is quite big, though there are many desk areas each with their own mountains of paper work there doesn't seem to be anyone else currently present in the room other than the two of us.

"All Might said you might be stopping by, something for Power-Loader".

I nod my head before realizing he isn't looking at me, and is instead taking a seat at a desk before continuing the paper work he was doing from before I entered.

"Yeah I did, just some ideas I wanted to try out, to help with training and improving my quirks usage in battle or just out in the field in general, though I still have another question".

He stays silent, presumably waiting for me to continue.

I let out a little cough, suppose this is what happens when a silent-tired type meets a naturally quiet type.

"I was curious if the school had clubs".

"Why do you want to know about if this school has clubs or not".

To be honest I already know that the school has clubs, so why won't he tell me? Is he trying to just see the why?

"I wanted to see if there were any fighting clubs, as you know I'm wielding quite a few weapons on me, and my upgrade I'm hoping to get is gonna make some changes to my fighting style, not that I have a particular one right now, if I could just a combat based club or something similar then it would make it easier for me to learn, even if I can only join a marksman club or something it would prove beneficial".

Aizawa stops what he is doing as he looks up towards me before opening a drawer and handing me a club application paper.

"Those in the Hero Course are held to a different standard plus we teachers make our own rules. One of those unspoken rules is that we don't give out club sheets unless requested by a student. Not everyone is becoming a hero to fight villains, sometimes it's for simple thing like money and fame. So we don't like to force the idea joining a club to get better at fighting. As is we teach you in class how to do so, so any extra training is of your own volition".

Aizawa finishes his explanation before handing me a pen and continuing his paper work.

I quickly finish filling out the sheet, applying for a close-range like combat training and a marksman club.

From what I can tell, these clubs act as both clubs and electives you can take, you can attend as you please sometimes coming sometimes skipping out as you can take multiple at once.

These clubs or classes only happen on week days and only three or so days a week for each class.

(Basically each club has a set 3 days they happen as to try and attempt to not overlap with other clubs, though it stlll does happen)

I hand the application back as well as a few more.

Taking them back he checks the other pieces of paper, looking at my design ideas he seems... Impressed? I can't quite tell.

Standing from his chair he looks towards me.

"After class tomorrow I'll let you know on the situation for you joining these clubs, head home for now, and as for your costume you will have to wait for Power-Loader to come to you when it's finished".

Aizawa heads off towards a door that seemingly leads to another hall.

Turning around I head towards the door opening it before hearing a very sultry like voice.

"Is someone in trouble on their first day~"

Welp I'm tired still and I gotta prepare for me DND session some more that's in a couple hours, bye for now, I'll hopefully have a chapter tomorrow or the day after, maybe don't get your hopes up.

I'm honestly doing my best to get a minimum of 1 chapter weekly and I've done a pretty good job so far.

(Quick extra thing, everything after the End of School Day Skip was written in like 30 minutes, maybe a bit more which is like 900 words and I'm tired so sorry if it was bad, plus it's been like 4 days since I've touched this chapter sorry about that.)
