Daniel rambled on: "What if I were weak and couldn't protect you?"

"Next time, can we strategize first?"

Sophia, unapologetic, pouted and said, "I never expected you to protect me anyway."

Daniel was left dumbfounded: "What??"

Sophia then hugged Rachel's arm, grinning, "Rachel is a cop. Just flashing her badge would've been enough to scare off these thugs. There was no need for you to step in."

Rachel, playing along, pulled out her police badge and service gun.

Daniel frowned, suspiciously eyeing the two women: "Thank God Rachel is a woman, otherwise, I'd really suspect you had a thing for her, Soph."

Sophia huffed, "So, I can't like women?"

Daniel was again flabbergasted: "What???"

In the midst of their banter, the sound of police sirens echoed from outside the bar.

John had quietly alerted the police.

The cops, after receiving a report of a dozen or so thugs causing trouble, quickly surrounded the bar with five or six squad cars and over twenty officers.
