A dream?

"Just a little more Ben, this is the only chance of your survival." He struggled in his mind, his thoughts racing to find a solution amidst the chaos. The pain sharpened his focus, heightening his senses as he sought any advantage he could find.

"The bird is faster than me, bigger than me, and stronger than me...Doesnt matter how much I attack it, it keeps coming." He thought with a determined expression before he came up with a plan.

The bird's condition wasn't any better than Ben's, all he needed to do was do a critical injury. But the problem was the closing distance to that berserk bird. There was barely any chance of survival at this stage, so he decided to bet on his body and leave everything to fate.

With a sudden realization, Ben closed his eyes and stopped struggling on the ground. As he left his body free to be picked up by the cold metallic claw of its predator, the bird grabbed him and took off into the sky.

Even with his eyes closed, Ben was able to see everything thanks to his blood tracer skill. He could feel himself getting lifted in the air, much above the pine trees. The fire on the raven's feathers subsided, leaving various burn and cut marks on it.

Ben could feel that his body was being tossed up. Just like any other bird, the raven tossed its prey and moved his peck towards it to catch its prey. Everything was going according to Ben's plan, but he kept himself calm, still pretending to be dead.

Ben's body hit the raven's peck slowly sliding into its mouth barely a centimeter away from being eaten. Suddenly, with a burst of strength, Ben opened his eyes again.

"The only way for my attack to hit the target is to close the distance between me and the enemy. But my enemy is fast; I can't close the distance between us. So, the only best course of action is..."

"To let the enemy close the distance between us," he thought, opening his eyes again with a sharp smile as he sensed he was high enough in the sky. "I will launch this attack with every ounce of strength I have gained!"

"BLOOD NEEDLE SKILL: MAXIMUM CAPACITY!"

Ben shouted in his mind as if it were his last scream before his death. A crimson-red needle started to manifest between his fangs; it grew larger and larger, almost twice the size of a normal blood needle, before it slowly turned golden yellow, emitting heat like a hot red iron.

"BANGGG!!"

A blasting sound reverberated through the air, as a shower of blood spread everywhere. The battle had taken an opposite turn, as the flames cleared one could see the devastating scene before him.

Ben was still in the air, recalled by the force, he was thrown away from the raven. While the raven, on the other hand, fell lifelessly, as its head was completely blasted off from its body, killing it in an instant.

[HP: 0.1/5.0]

Ben was falling from the air. His ears were ringing, his senses were slowly going numb, his vision was fading away, and the only thing he could see was a status bar, indicating his critical HP.

He closed his eyes and let his body relax. There was nothing more he could do but rest. rest from the monotonous life he had been living until now; all his senses were now at ease; he could feel his body stop falling from the air; and the ringing sound in his ears turned into a whispering melody.

...….

"Tin-Tin-Tin"

"Tin-Tin-Tin"

"Tin-Tin-Tin"

"Oh, what is it?" Ben felt dizziness in his head as he woke up from the bed; he was feeling like he had overslept after a long, long time.

Quickly, he looked at the alarm clock, and then looked at the world around him; it was familiar and nostalgic. This was his old apartment where he used to live as a kid, but why is he here? Didn't he die and reincarnate as a mosquito?

Quickly rushing over to the hallway downstairs, he looked at himself in the dressing mirror. A twelve-year-old boy, it was Ben, in his childhood. He then quickly looked at the calendar: December 31, 2002.

"Wait, if it's the 30th of December, that means..." Drops of tears fell from Ben's eyes as he recalled an event from the past. As he dropped to his knees, a melodious voice echoed from behind.

"Look, who is awake? Is it my sweet little chocolate boy?" A woman with the same blonde hair as Ben hugged him from behind. This familiar voice sent a shiver throughout his body as Ben looked at the woman in the mirror.

"Moo~mm…" Ben's voice trembled, and oceans of tears fell from his eyes as he turned around and tightly hugged his mother. In an instant, he forgot about everything—every pain, every suffering—and was letting it all out of the tears that had fallen.

He had endured too much; too much happened for him to bear; now he just wanted to cry and let it all out. He didn't want to leave the comfort of this embrace once again. He hugged her tightly, not letting go even for a second.

"Oh dear… Why are you crying so much? Did something happen? Was it a nightmare?" The woman looked at Ben with a confused expression to check his body to see if there was any injury to it.

"Yes, it was a nightmare. very long... nightmare," Ben said as he sobbed. In response, her mother too embarrassed him, consoling her little kid.

But unknown to both of them, someone was watching, standing next to a tree approximately 300 meters from the house. Still, that person could see everything.

Adorned in an all-black outfit, he stood 6 feet tall. Light-shaved shallow beards and long black hairs danced in the wind. His facial features said that he was in his very early twenties, but the depth in his eyes resembled the wisdom of countless lifetimes.

[Do you think he is worthy of it, master?]
