Treating the prisoners

Everyone tried to make sense of what they saw, but their minds refused to cooperate. It was a known fact that only hybrids left behind flux orbs, but they couldn't deny the evidence in front of their eyes.

"So, do hybrids leave fux orbs behind?" Nika said with a questioning look, being careful not to adress Luna directly but fully expecting her to answer.

"Uhm, no."

"Then, what happened here?" Sam too was in a daze.

"I don't think you guys would like the answer." Uriel replied. Among all of them, he was the only one who knew what happened.

The cannibals thought that since they were the only ones who could hear the voice in their head they were special which wasn't that far from the truth. They were chosen by the Aku Aku, probably because of their weak willpower, and they were possessed by them. Of course, that meant that they killed people they could have potentially saved and that was something none of them needed to hear.
