The anomaly of the situation

Ivy let out a piercing scream as a barrage of shots assaulted her windshield. Fractures spider-webbed across the glass, an attempt to blind her, but she had instinctively shut her eyes before the onslaught began. Meanwhile, Dane, his instincts kicking in, lunged for the steering wheel.

"Tch!" he clicked his tongue, turning his head to the window in the driver's seat. "Miss Wei!"

"Ahh!!!" Ivy kept screaming, muffling Dane's shouts and calls.

Dane clenched his teeth, turning the steering wheel to the left until Ivy's body was leaning against the door. His pupils were dilated, seeing the motorcycle on the left lane decelerate to avoid crashing against them.

"Miss Wei!" he shouted once more, maneuvering the vehicle in such an awkward position. "Ivy Wei!"

Ivy flinched, snapping her eyes open. Only then did she realize Dane was holding the wheel, not panicking just like her.

"Let's switch," he said, his eyes darting in all directions. "Come on."
