"See, I'm alright. None of my vital organs have been hit, and I'll be discharged in a few hours," Robin weakly smiled and proudly announced as soon as he spotted Sabrina at the door.

He hadn't forgotten the promise she had made before the bullet was removed, and he eagerly anticipated its fulfillment. 

He didn't want to display any weakness, wanting Sabrina to see him as strong and capable.

Sabrina walked over, her smile tinged with sadness. Her heart was filled with a whirlwind of emotions, as she struggled to understand why this man had been too proud to show his love in the beginning.

Proud? Yes, that was the only word Sabrina could use to explain Robin's past behavior, aside from Zayla's manipulations.

She no longer felt foolish for still being in love with him and was relieved that he had changed before it was too late.
