CHAPTER 7; THE CALM BEFORE THE STORM

CHAPTER 7; THE CALM BEFORE THE STORM

At the Morticon hideout, there was a big celebration. All the Morticons were glad that their leader had qualified for the final round of the Diibagura Ceremonial Selection Contest. There was loud Endreginian music. Punkie De Shankie Doo even volunteered to rap and that was honestly the first time he spoke as an Endregenian instead of using the Gorrillagan accent. Raygaard, June and Wedam danced happily to P.D.S Doo's raps and soon they had all forgotten their worries.

Little did Raygaard know that Wedam had even gone to the extent of inviting the remaining Warriors to the Party. They arrived in their numbers, one hundred and fifty in all and the Party became much more lively. Hanzo walked to Raygaard.

"We all owe you our lives. If not for your brilliant plan, we wouldn't have lasted through half of that brutal fight. Everyone here is grateful to you though their Pride as Warriors would not allow them to admit it" he said.

"We all worked together. On my own there wouldn't have been much of a difference" Raygaard said.

"Hmm, I see greatness within you. You have the qualities of a great leader. You'd make a great king" Hanzo said.

"I've heard that many times already but honestly…I wouldn't know where to begin" Raygaard said.

"There is a God out there. You've probably not heard about him since most of Endregen now worships Abaddon. He is the God Of Creation. Humans call him 'He that Is In All and Is All'. We call him 'Namwin'. He guides the path of all creatures. He guides them through great suffering into everlasting joy. He will guide your Path…just believe" Hanzo said.

"You sound far too wise…for a warrior" Raygaard joked.

"You know Raygaard, war is never a good thing…however…some battles must be fought for the greater good" Hanzo said.

"I just want the people of Endregen to be truly free" Raygaard said.

"For that to happen, you must make peace with yourself, quell the conflict within and accept the two parts of your being" Hanzo said.

"What's that supposed to mean?" Raygaard asked.

"You must find the answer on your own" Hanzo said.

Raygaard sighed.

"Why can't wise people ever be direct?" he complained and walked away.

"Hey Ray! Come join us! The boar is almost done!" Wedam called.

"I'll be right there!" Raygaard called and ran to his friends.

"That was a great battle wasn't it Raygaard?" June asked.

"Huh? Is June being nice to me?" Raygaard wondered.

"Endregen to Raygaard!" June called.

Raygaard laughed.

"Heh! It was some battle! It almost seemed hopeless!" Raygaard laughed.

"Without you, it might have been" June said.

"Thanks but you guys helped out a lot" Raygaard said.

"Don't be modest, your divide and conquer strategy was great" Wedam said.

"It was wasn't it?" Raygaard laughed.

"It really was" Wedam agreed.

"To think in about a month from now we will begin our quest to find the Earthbound Amooma" June said.

"It's great! Then our lifeless weapons will become Living Sekan" Wedam said excitedly.

"Yeah…but what if…the Amooma we seek challenge us to a fight. You know how gifted they are in Elemental Combat and we basically have nothing" Raygaard said.

"That's not true. We have out wits and probably maps. My Dad left me a Map leading to the Resting Place Of The Morticon Guardians" Wedam informed Raygaard and June.

"My Dad gave me something similar" June said.

"My Dad hasn't given me anything yet. Why am I not surprised. Stingy creep!" Raygaard muttered.

Wedam and June laughed.

"Don't worry Raygaard, even your Dad will have to give you a clue as to where to start looking" June said.

"When it comes to Ray's Dad, anything is possible!" Wedam laughed.

"Yeah, if he would make a three year old fight twenty four thousand Galagans, what then isn't he capable of?" Raygaard said.

Wedam and June looked scared.

"I don't even want to think about it" they said together.

The boar was soon ready and after eating it, the party resumed. Apparently, the Warriors had grouped themselves and hunted for more Game.

There was so much fun that Raygaard didn't even notice how much time had passed until Day began to break.

"Crap! How long have we been partying?!" he suddenly seemed worried. "It's Daybreak?! I've got to be getting home now Wedam. My Dad will be really angry!" June was also worried.

"I'll walk you home. Maybe I can explain things to your Dad" Wedam volunteered.

"Thanks Wedam but it will be better if I go alone. Once my Dad starts to see you as a bad influence, he'll make sure we can't see each other anymore" June said worriedly.

"That goes double for me. For what it's worth, this was a really great party. It's the most fun I've ever had and right after we fought together. We're both very glad to have met you. In case our Dads blow a really nasty temper, we just want you to know this" Raygaard laughed.

"TCH! As if that can stop us from being friends!" Wedam said.

"It can't. Even if we're grounded for life, you've gotta know there's such a thing called a jailbreak" Raygaard said.

"Definitely, I trust you Ray, June, whenever you need me, I'll be there to break you out too" Wedam said.

June smiled.

"I know" she said as she hugged Wedam.

"See you later" she whispered and then she let go.

When Raygaard arrived at the Castle, he attempted to sneak in but was caught by none other than Gilgamesh in less than a second.

"Raygaard! I've honestly never met anyone who can make me proud and disappoint me all in a single day!" Gilgamesh scolded him.

"Aah, Dad, chillax! I only went out to celebrate our victory with some friends" Raygaard tried to calm the mood.

"First of all, I don't know what 'chillax' means and secondly…you should have been courteous enough to inform me! You know all my hopes rest upon your shoulders so I can't lose you no matter what happens!" Gilgamesh continued to scold Raygaard.

"What?! Was he honestly worried about me?!" Raygaard seemed surprised.

"Wipe that silly look off your face and never show it in my presence! You know how much I despise human emotions!" Gilgamesh roared.

"TCH! I thought a little too soon. It's impossible for Gilgamesh to ever care about anybody. I'm sure the only thing he is worried about are his selfish plans!" Raygaard frowned angrily.

"That's a much better look for you" Gilgamesh said.

"I'm sorry to be such a big disappointment! It's not my fault I had a Human Mother!" Raygaard roared and ran away as fast as he could.

"THAT BRAT! HE CERTAINTLY KNOWS HOW TO GET ON MY NERVES! Well what can I say, he inherited my genes after all" Gilgamesh sighed angrily.
