Chapter 11

The alarm clock next to a bed lights up, announcing a new morning with it's pre-set song.

♫Ayy, ayy, ayy, ayy (ooh)

Ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh (ooh)

Ayy, ayy

Ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh

Needless to say, I keep her in check

She was a ba-♫

The music stops abruptly as the owner of the alarm clock groggily snoozes it. Arms stretching the fatigue out, the blanket slips a bit, revealing a young male with long, black hair and sparkling green eyes.

"Damn." The man groans out after stretching. "Shouldn't have snoozed it..." He mutters as he wipes the last bit of sleep off his eyes.

Slowly standing up, he makes his way to the bathroom in his apartment flat while muttering his morning song.

♫She was a bah-bah nev...

less... Hmm hmm quits~♫

Undressing himself after reaching the bathroom, he admires himself in the mirror.

"Are my eyes playing tricks on me?" He asks, baffled.

"Or are you better looking than yesterday?" The 'morror' replies with a smirk.

Chuckling, he waves at himself in the mirror. "No, my eyes are not fooling me."

Finishing his ego rubbing, he unclothes himself and showers, singing all kinds of songs while thinking of his past.

---

"You have no talent, Daniel." a Man in a suit said to the green eyed teen in front of him.

"Wha-" Daniel lets out. "What do you mean? I've been practicing all my life to get a chance in music and you're telling me it was all useless?!" Unable to control his temper, Daniel's voice raised a bit.

The formal man looks Daniel in the eye before sighing. "It's unfortunate." He says while raising his hand to call in the security personnel outside the glass-walled office.

"Wait! Can't you rethink this?!" Daniel asks in desperation while the security guard escorted him out of the room, only for his question to be met with silence.

---

"Tsk." Daniel clicked his tongue in frustration and quickly ended his shower. "YoU'rE TaleNtLEss." He mocked while getting dressed. "Uh-huh. And you are stupid, Mr. Fancy suit."

Finished getting dressed, he looks at himself in the mirror once more and sighs. "Why'd I have to chase a stupid dream?" He muttered and entered his lounge area where he put different types of musical instruments. "And why do I still chase it..?"

Tired of his own depressing thoughts, he lied down on the sofa and closed his eyes with a sigh, slowly falling asleep to his own humming.

---

"Ugh!" Daniel shoots up from the sofa. "What the hell, did I get ready just to go to sleep?!" He scolds himself in frustration. Looking towards the window, he spots the sun going down. "What?!" Quickly running to his bedroom, Daniel searches for his alarm clock to look at the time.

"Where the hell is that thing?" He asks himself as he looks under the bed, unable to find it, before slowly massaging his temples. "You have a phone, Daniel." He mutters as he spots the phone on his unkempt bed. Switching it on, Daniel spots the time. "6:15... Hmm?"

Switching his phone off and on again, he brings it closer to his face. "Where's my wallpaper?" He mutters and goes into his gallery to look at his photos but find an empty download folder. "The fuck?" He swears, remembering the different photos he had of album covers and singers.

[*Ding*]

a Sound breaks Daniel from his thoughts.

[System initializing...]

Daniel's head snaps in different directions trying to find the source of the sound.

[Initializing complete. Merging memories...]

a Sudden sharp pain erupts from Daniel's head, resulting in him clutching his head.

[Memory merge complete.]

Just as quick as it came, the pain left Daniel's head, leaving him in great confusion as a set of memories were being viewed by him.

Memories of a Daniel who lived in a world where music was underdeveloped. But that didn't stop his parents in creating their own Label, which came crashing down after making a few bad investments. All of this caused Daniel's relationship with his parents to rotten cause he always told them to stop chasing a dream that will never come true.

After briefly going through all the memories, Daniel's eyes widened. "I traveled to a different world..?" He muttered confused.

[*Ding*]

Daniel ignores the sound that rang in his ears as he quickly picked up his phone and started to browse through his contact list. "Mom..." His lips quivered when he spoke while memories of his past parents flashed through his mind.

In Daniel's previous world, his parents also created their own Label which became somewhat successful, but one day when they went to sign a contract with a fairly big artist, they got into an accident and left a young Daniel to be put into the foster system.

Pushing the memory away, Daniel dials the number.

{Yes, Daniel?}

Hearing the female's voice come from the other side of the call, Daniel's words got stuck in his throat.

{What's wrong..?} Getting no reply, the voice asks in a concerned tone.

Snapping out of it, Daniel hastily speaks, but a stutter exits his mouth. "N-Nothing..." Clearing his throat, he tries again. "Nothing, Ma. I just wanted to ask if I can go visit you today?" He asks with uncertainty, remembering that this world's Daniel have not talked to his parents in a few months.

{Oh.} a Surprised sound came from the phone. {Of course, sweetie. I'll start cooking right now! *Doot Doot*} After a minute of silence, Daniel's mother says in excitement and quickly ends the call.

"What?"

[Talent system has fully integrated with host. Please choose a Talent:]

Finally, Daniel's attention gets grabbed by the text floating in his view. "Talent..?" He mutters and a long list appears in his view.

[Soccer

Football

Acting

Engineer

...

...]

Different types of talents came to Daniel's view. "Do I... Pick one..?" He asks the system? The reason he asks isn't because of him not knowing what the text are, because in the memories that were transferred to him, there was also information about what a system is since the 'this world' Daniel loved to read fantasy novels, so he had his head wrapped around his situation quickly.

He transmigrated with a system... Something that can erase all his regrets from his 'previous' life.

[Correct. Only one Talent may be chosen at the time. Please choose correctly.]

a Response came to his question, making Daniel raise an eyebrow. "At the time? So I can get more in the future?" He asks, but after waiting for a while, no reply came. "Okay... Talent..." He mutters while scrolling through the different Talents presented to him.

[Vocalist.]

His eyes widen at the choice. His memories of a dream he chased, but failed. The memories of his younger self listening to his mother singing to him with her angelic voice. All of it came came crashing in his mind.

[Vocalist Talent chosen. Rebooting system...

Completed.

Vocalist Talent statistics:

Vocals: 0%

Producing: 0%

Lyricist: 0%

Composing: 0%

The Talent System will help you improve your Vocalist Talent passively as Host trains.]

Without hesitation, he chose the Vocalist Talent, seeing as it was his life dream and apparently his parents' as well.

"Oh, so it's not just the singing part in the Talent, but a few in connection with it..." Daniel mutters and looks at the last sentence. "And the system won't give me extreme strength like the systems in my memories... " He muses.

"Are there any other aspects?" He asks the system.

[The Talent system can provide Host with songs from Host's previous world at the cost of Talent statistics.]

"Oh..." Daniel lets out. "Does that mean that the songs in my previous world doesn't exist in this one?" he asks.

...

Frowning at receiving no reply, Daniel speaks again. "That's a hefty price... How much would get me a single song?" He asks another question, only to be met with silence. "Okay... I mean, I can just practice my Talent again after buying a song. How hard can it be? I live in a world that focuses on music more than my previous one."

Daniel lies down on his bed before starting to browse through the internet. "Let's see..." He mutters as he searched for different songs that were popular in his previous world.

After searching for a few minutes and finding no song that he knew, Daniel got too excited and rushed out of his apartment towards his parents place.

Why?

Well, because he hasn't seen them in forever.

Also cause they have a recording studio...

Now some people might wonder: 'Why does he want to sing so hastily after getting his system?' The answer comes from a thought Daniel had while looking at the stats of his Talent. All of them showed 0%.

"Does that mean I have no Talent..." He mutters, but a smile graces his lips. "Or does it mean the base of skills I have now is set at 0% meaning I can only get better..."

Daniel only thought of this cause unlike the previous him, this Daniel has quite the talented voice. Although it might not sound like it while he's speaking normally, this Daniel's voice can reach quite the high notes.

---

*Knock-knock*

Daniel knocks twice on the door of his parents house while holding his breath. Not long after, a series of familiar light footsteps could be heard coming from inside, causing Daniel's heart to clench at the sound.

*Click*

The door unlocks and opens, revealing the most beautiful woman Daniel has ever seen.

Standing at 5'7 with blonde hair and blue eyes that slightly closed due to the smile on her face after seeing Daniel.

"Oh! Daniel sweetie, you're here." Daniel's mom says with a smile, but not long after, the smile morphs into concern as she spots her son tearing up. "What's wrong?" She asks while stepping closer.

*Whoosh*

Daniel suddenly hugs his mother, causing her eyes to open wide. "Nothing, Mah." Daniel mutters and steps back from the hug. "Just missed yah..." He wipes his face with his sleeves, removing the tears.

"Who's at the door, Love?" a Masculine voice sounds out as the door swing open and a 6'3 beast of a man comes outside. Black hair and piercing black eyes stare at Daniel. "Hm." The man grunts and nods. "Daniel."

"Pah." Daniel lets out and steps in front of his dad before bringing him into a hug. "I missed you too." He says, ignoring the big hands awkwardly patting his back.

"K-Hum!" Dad clears his throat after being released from the, too long in his opinion, hug. "What are you doing here?" He asks.

"Oh!" Daniel exclaims. "Yall still have that recording studio in the house?" He asks in trepidation.

Mom and Dad look at each other for a second before Mom turns to look at Daniel. "We do, sweetie." She respond with confusion lacing her words. "Why?"

"Great!" Daniel claps his hands together. "Come! Come!" He voices out while speed walking into the house towards the studio.

"..." Dad looks at Daniel's retreating back. "What's gotten into him? I thought he disliked anything to do with music?" He asks Mom, who only shrugged at his question.

"Come!" Daniel's excited voice sounds out from inside the house.

*Sigh* "Let's go." Dad says as he and Mom walks towards the studio after Daniel.

When they entered, they saw their son messing around on the computer. "What are you up to, sweetie?" Mom asks as she hears Daniel silently hum a melody.

"Just wait..." He mutters while creating the beat of the song he heard everyday since it's release in his previous world. a Song that woke him up.

"Annnnnnd..." Daniel stretches his words. "Done." *Click* He backs his word with a last, loud click on the keyboard.

The only reason why Daniel finished the beat so quickly was because he was so in love with the song that he actually watched a YouTube video on how to recreate when he started doing beats for fun.

Getting up from his seat, Daniel grabs his Dad's shoulder and drags him to the seat in front of the recording booth.

"Record." Daniel speaks in between silent chuckles. "This will blow your mind." He mutters and enters the booth.
