The girl in white

Sire followed quietly behind Nathan on leaving the public town stable where they had kept their horse to be watched over. She wasn't sure where they were headed now because the girl had never been to the town. Never had she even seen a town as crowded and busy as this. It was nothing like the town filled with clouds and sun rays or dim clouds and dangling stars. It was more of a town filled with people who were up and busy. Being able to identify she could tell it was a town for the wealthy. Its floors were neatly swept by the daily working servants and could still see some doing their job of sweeping neat the floors. Her eyes roamed about studying the appearance of the people. The ladies dressed in high quality dresses and the gentlemen men in their richly made atires.

Still not taking in enough of the town folks appearance,Sire continued to stare not realizing her head would soon clash into Nathan's back.

"Ahh." She said softly staggering back a little as she rubbed her forehead. That was the exact spot the bottle of water had hit earlier in the woods. She was sure a bump would soon sprout out at this rate.

"Stay here and don't move until i'm back." Nathan's chill voice said not waiting for an answer before he disappeared into the big old house they now stood in front of. She had been so occupied with the town she didn't even realize when and how they arrived there. Not waiting for her to answer Nathan disappeared into the house. Her lips had parted as if she wanted to say something but ended up not saying at his disappearance into the house. Slowly she retraced her hand and turned to look around her.

"Well then,i guess I'll have to blend in." Sire said giving herself a comforting smile. She held her breath only to let it out a second later. She looked around her.

SLAP!

The slap resounded and Sire immediately caught commotion with the corner of her eye. Her head snapped that direction and watched as people already began crowding in. Her brows knitted and her feet immediately carried her that direction. Not even without a second thought. Soon enough her feet got her to where the commotion was taking place. She peeked and stood on her toes to see. Not being able to make out much all she saw was a woman richly dressed in a red dress. It was flowing from her waist down. Her hair was short dark and herears was and neck glimmered with pearls.

"How dare you brush your broom with the end of my dress?!!." The woman's voice was aggressive and was no less than upset.

"These days the lower class seem to not even recognize the fact that they wouldn't even be alive if not for the grace of us offering our scramps." A woman commented from the crowd.

"How dare he brush the ends of your dress." Another and even more arrogant feminine voice spoke.

The man immediately bowed in apology. Forgetting about the slap and the mark it had left on his left cheek. "My apologies milady. I have in fact ruined this bright and beautiful weather for you. Please, let me mend my tremendous mistakes by being at your service." It was clear that the man was afraid of loosing his job as a worker in this beautiful and wealthy town. Perhaps he had a family to take care of.

"You lowly life. Your service would be useless even if i had you work for me for the rest of your miserable life. I shall have you pay by finding your way out of this respectable town this instance." This was the reply to the man's sincere apologies to what was nothing more than a mere mistake.

"No. Milady!." The man immediately fell on his knees as he placed forward his hands on the floor and his head remained low. "I beg of you. I need to work here! Even if it means for just a day more. Please! I have a little girl and a dying wife. Please don't throw me out. My wife would die if you do. please." The man begged. Just like Sire had thought. He was receiving all this humiliation for the sake of his family and for his dying wife. Didn't that lady have any pity?

"And who are you to disagree with my oders?!." With each word she said, her tone got more and more aggressive. "Samuel!." She called to one of the officers of the town. "See to it that this thing leaves this town in a blink of my eyes." She spoke with authority to him as he arrived.

Sire watched silently. Her hands clenched at her sides as she watched the innocent man being mistreated. For what? A simple mistake? The people of the world really were horrible. This was why no matter what she would never agree to it that her home was like this place.

"I demand you stop this very instance!!." The voice spoke aloud and everyone who had turned to mind their business after the entertaining show forced themselves to turn back and see who it was that stood out with so much valour to would have questioned the orders of grand lady Gertrude King. Even she stopped to see who dared.

Sire hurried to the guard who had halted and the man who was being mistreated.

Lady Gertrude turned for her gaze to harden at the girl in the white cloak.

"And who....."

"Who are you mistreat a person like this?!." Sire asked intruding the woman's words before she could even complete it.

"How dare you speak that way to me?! Have you no manners?!!." Out came the lady's cruel and arrogant voice.

"Manners?! With all due respect i wish to ask who has proper manners between us both? Having manners is not the matter displaying it is. Why would you treat a poor commoner in such manner over a silly mistakes. All humans make mistakes and what makes you think he's any different?!!."

"This is the problem with letting too many commoners into the town! They always forget thier place and speak rubbish to the people of the higher societies. I say we have her thrown out immediately. Who knows the connection she has with that lowly man. It could be her lover for all we care." The women were quick to talk on the show that sprung up right in front of their very eyes.

"I say we have her thrown out lady Gertrude. It would also save us alot of our...."

And before the sentence was completed Gertrude held out her hand. Immediately shutting the woman. She walked over to the brave girl whom she thought was stupid enough to would have spoken to her in such a manner.

Sire held steady the fearless looks in her golden eyes. She wasn't going to fear this woman one bit. Keeping this in mind she didn't even flinch as the woman came closer.

Gertrude found her way toward Sire. Being close enough she stood right next to the girl only that she was facing the opposite direction.

"I will make sure you regret what you have just done." She whispered into Sire's ears.

With those words Sire felt something slip into the pocket of her cloak. Her brows knitted and the Gertrude immediately stepped back. She retraced her steps and faced the direction in which she'd come. "There is no point in wasting time on such a lowly life. I believe we have better things to do." She said and in as much as her surrender stired up confusion in the people as they turned to leave.

Sire still stood in confusion as her hands searched her pocket. What had that lady put in her pocket? What ever it was finding it mattered now more than just pretending it never happened.

"Ahhhhh!!." The srceam of the grand lady gathered attention in the instance and Sire was forced to look up her hand still searching her pockets. Immediately touching with the cold surface of something metal. Her brows knitted. She pulled it out and confusion immediately came in. It was a ring that held an emerald as its beauty.

"I can't find my ring! Where is it?! That lowly life most have stolen it from my graceful hand the moment i stepped closer. Search her!! Find my ring!." Gertrude's loud and accusing voice dragged attention that instance as the officer known as Samuel stepped closer to Sire.

Her eyes looked up at him in confusion as his moved to her hand which held the ring. He immediately concluded she had been admiring the expensive looking ring. Grabbing hold of her hand Sire fell a sudden fear spread through. Her mind was in alert. She tried to break free from tge officer. His grip was just too strong.

"Let me go.." She spoke unbeknownst to her that this man and that lady had no plans in doing so. She immediately felt danger. Her eyes searched for Nathan. Somewhere, anywhere!! This fear she felt was from the fact of not seeing her partner or not returning home anymore.

While she struggled,Lady Gertrude found her way to the girl she pronounced thief. She snatched the ring from her pushing the girl so hard she lost her balance.

Gertrude looked up and her eyes widened at the sight of the brown haired and young daughter of the Silvester family.

Sire raised her head to see whom's feet she had landed at but for her golden eyes to stare into the brownish red eyes of the young lady.
