Chapter 27 - Moving

A/N: I'm starting another semester of college, so I may not be as active as I would like to be. For now I think I'm going to try to establish a schedule of not updating on Tuesdays and Saturdays, obviously this is not definitive and can be broken but for now it's the best I can do considering the university schedule.

Taking advantage of this, I also want to thank you all for reading and correcting! We almost reached 200k!

<Unknown > <PoV - Reaper>

"That should be it, how do you feel?"

"Like shit" I replied as I stood up from the medical gurney, the various tubes connected to my body had already been disconnected beforehand but the sensation still coursed through my body causing me to have various muscle spasms. "Couldn't you give me some damn anesthesia when you do this?"

"I could but I remind you that your body rejects most chemicals, including hypnotics" Moira replied as she looked at me as if I was her favorite toy, not which was not far from the truth. "The other alternative is to temporarily shut down your brain but I can't guarantee success in getting you out alive."

Groaning at Moira's smirk, I rubbed my neck contemplating the damage I had sustained on the last mission. "That kid sure hits hard to look like such a wimp."

"Izuku Midoriya, a child with a late Quirk awakening. Said Quirk seems to give him overwhelming strength in exchange for breaking his body" Spoke a playful voice as he sat at a desk with a large computer which had hundreds of changing screens. "Now the interesting thing is that in his medical records he does not have the normal deformities of people with Quirk but of people without Quirk. He currently lives alone with his mother in Musutafu, in his childhood-"

"I don't need to know how long his dick is" I growled at the avalanche of unnecessary information provided by my newest companion. "So shut your mouth or I'll shut it for you permanently."

"I love you too sweetheart!" The brunette girl giggled as she blew me a kiss.

"I hate this woman..." I growled as I stood up from the gurney. I activated my Quirk, turning my body into mist before returning to my previous state only with my suit on top. "Why are they always so annoying..."

"Reaper we have a new target" Moira informed. "This time it's not an assassination, but an information theft in I-Island. Apparently our worldwide wanted Hacker couldn't penetrate their defenses."

"Hey! Hacking into the living quarters of the world's greatest geniuses isn't as easy as you think!" Sombra exclaimed as he looked at Moira with his arms crossed. "You should be thankful I joined your little organization!"

"I need you to look up information on a Project called 'ARCANGEL' that Winston Oxton, David Shield and Angela Ziegler work on, apparently it is somehow related to Lena Oxton's Quirk" Moira continued as she read various notes quickly and ignored Sombra protests. "Also, apparently David Shield is working on a very important secret project in which large amounts of funds have been moved, if you can find out what this secret project is about I want as much information as possible, understood?"

'That girl...' The memory was still fresh in his mind.

With a simple wave of her hand everything began to shatter around me, similar to how glass shatters.

She had taken me back in time... years before my association with Talon, when I was just a simple assassin working for a shitty organization, working for shitty people, doing shitty things.

The world echoed loudly before shattering with me still inside.

And I went back to the day where my world collapsed, the day where I lost everything.

I didn't understand, it was illogical to him, he didn't do anything wrong, he didn't do anything bad, he had just followed his role in the grand course of things.

So why? WHY?!

"Don't worry, you just have to protect the girl for the rest of the day it's not hard."

"Could Mr. Jack Morrison come and give his verdict?"

"You are found... GUILTY!"

The anger, the hatred, the helplessness.

But most of all, the betrayal of a friend whom you considered a brother, someone who was your pillar of light in your world surrounded by darkness and cruelty.

And that same light that you admired with passion is what led you to your downfall, what blinded you from its darkness and what dragged you to the end.

That day Gabriel Reyes died pathetically in a prison cell consumed by the flames of anger that slowly transformed into cold black ashes of hatred.

The ashes gathered and reformed to give way to the thirst of blood, the taste of blood attracted Death, and Death brought him a new Awakening.

"Understood."

And a new Awakening gave him a new Reborn....

<Japan UA 10:57>

Class 1A was currently sitting quietly waiting for their teacher to arrive,

They were worried as they had not been told anything about whether they would continue to see classes with Aizawa or change teachers until he recovered from his injuries sustained at USJ.

While most students would think twice before deciding on Aizawa as a teacher, Class 1A admired Aizawa as one of their pillars despite the teacher's unfriendly attitude.

Lena for her part was lying on her desk with her face on her arms, to others it looked like she was sleeping but she was pondering what to do.

Her father was going to I-Island for a few weeks which would leave her home alone for the first time. While Lena was glad her father trusted her, she didn't trust herself.

Being home alone for so long was basically inviting her to have a panic attack at any moment.

'On the other hand, this gives me a chance to experiment with my Energy... although I should wait for dad to come back to avoid accidents...'

Suddenly the big door opened to reveal.... A mummy?

"Good morning..." Replied the mummy with simplicity in his voice.

"WHAT THE HELL?!" Ashido exclaimed as he pointed a finger at the mummy. "WRONG COUNTRY!"

"Oi, oi, Halloween already happened you know?" Karishima said as he looked at the guest with confusion.

"Shut up..." Replied the mummy with annoyance in his voice, and it was at that moment that the students realized it was their strict teacher Aizawa.

"Professor! Are you all right?" Asked Lida worried about her professor's health but equally impressed by his professionalism of even being mortally wounded coming to teach them.

"What do you think?" Aizawa replied as he made his way to the podium in front of the class.

"Uhhhh..."

Looking at his entire class with a tired look on his face, he could only think that they recovered quickly from the USJ incident. Well some didn't seem as active as before but it was still a good reaction compared to what he expected.

'I guess they are mentally stronger than they look...' Aizawa thought looking at his whole class carefully, maybe the most affected were Koda and Kaminari but it was nothing serious.

"They're not that relaxed... the battle isn't over yet, it's just about to begin....". Aizawa exclaimed harshly and intensely which made the whole class's hair stand on end, Lena snapped out of her pensive state and looked annoyed at Aizawa praying that it's not a test. "The UA Sports Festival is just around the corner!!!!".

That made the whole room go into excited shouts and reinforced each student's determinations.

"FINALLY SOMETHING NORMAL!"

"WOW!"

"I WILL BE THE WINNER!!!"

After a few minutes the class calmed down again as they felt their teacher's irritation growing.

"Professor I have a question" Momo said raising her hand, Aizawa simply nodded for her to speak. "Couldn't this be a perfect opportunity for the villains?".

This possibility scared the whole class again, they didn't want to face the villains anytime soon.

"Don't worry, UA will reinforce security at least 5 times, they will double the number of police patrols, plus many Professional Heroes have been hired to handle any situation that may happen during the Festival" Aizawa spoke while clearing his students' doubts letting them breathe a sigh of relief. "You shouldn't worry about that, what you should worry about for now is your future, the festival is a great opportunity for you."

In that Aizawa was right this was a great opportunity for everyone, professionals from all over the country and maybe the world, they will be watching and evaluating us to recruit us, just being recruited by a recognized professional will give us a great help not only for our future connections but also depending on the chosen Professional they can help us to grow our Hero skills.

In addition participating in the festival will give us a small fan base with which to build the foundation of our future career and fame.

"This is a golden opportunity that you only get once a year, that is, three times in a lifetime, don't miss it. You have two weeks off to prepare."

***

"So the festival is coming..." Momo muttered quietly but enough for Lena, Kyoka and Toru to hear her.

They were sitting at their dining table in total silence, the tension in the atmosphere was so much that the people around just by looking at them felt a bit scared....

"Pff... HAHAHA!" Lena and Toru suddenly started laughing out loud, the other two just looked at them with a frown.

"Hey, don't laugh this is a once in a lifetime opportunity!". Momo said as she frowned at how carefree her friends looked.

"Wow, calm down Momo I'm sure some Professional will want you for a partner... for more than one reason" Lena said calming Momo down and muttering that last part to herself.

Momo was a Yaoyorozu, one of the richest families in the country. There was no way some greedy Hero wouldn't want her just to attach himself to her like a leech to steal some of her money or increase her fame.

Another reason was the model body that Momo possesses. Don't misunderstand Lena she also has a model body but it was pretty obvious that Momo outclassed all the girls in the class with ease.

And the last reason is that Momo's Quirk is too powerful and versatile, she literally could break the country's economy if she wanted to.

Literally Momo was a walking golden ticket.

"?" Momo didn't understand what Lena was implying so she simply dismissed it as one of Lena's antics. "Anyway we must make an effort! I propose we train at my house since there is enough space and it has all the necessary equipment to train!"

"Well I don't think it's a bad idea but I was going to train with Lena this week like this" Kyoka replied as she gave Momo a forgiving look before being interrupted by Lena.

"I think it would be good to go to Momo's house, I don't think a gym can match what she has at her house" Lena said before reflecting internally. 'I'll have to manage my time between training my body and experimenting with my Energy.'

Kyoka raised an eyebrow at Lena's change of heart but didn't ask about it. "In that case I'm in too."

"Same!" Toru exclaimed as she raised her hands, this was a perfect opportunity to practice her Quirk, besides Momo knew a lot of things surely she could give her some ideas on how to use her Quirk, right?

"Ok, tomorrow we'll start practicing, I'm going to create a group just for us then I'll pass you the information about everything understood?"

"""Understood!""""
