Chapter 84: Kidnapping the princess

[Renner's POV]

After Renner made a deal with the being known as Ancient One, She couldn't shake off the feeling that she had just made a deal with a force beyond her understanding.

Days passed, and the appointed time for the arrival of Theocracy's diplomats drew near. Renner, with a subtle air of anticipation, observed the unfolding events. True to Ancient One's claim, the diplomats never reached their destination. Rumours circulated about a mysterious and sudden demise that befell the envoys.

Following that, a direct order from the Slane Theocracy came to Re-Estize kingdom saying; to prepare for war within a week.

The only thing the citizens know is that the Great gods are not fighting Greed Kings instead something more terrifying than Greed Kings.

And there is a temporary truce between the two nations and any form of violence is punishable by execution on the spot.

In the past 200 hundred years, there was no such law enforcement, both demi-humans and humans hunt each other for amusement.

In the wake of this unexpected turn of events, Renner felt a mix of intrigue and trepidation. The contract she had signed with Ancient One lingered in the back of her mind. And she had no doubt, that Ancient one is a force that both Great gods and Greed Kings feared.

Soon after, Ancient One reappeared before Renner, his presence as enigmatic as ever. He looked at her with an expression that hinted at satisfaction.

"It seems the first part of our deal has been fulfilled. Now, it's time for you to uphold your end of the bargain."

"Yes, Before that I wanted to ask you a question."

"Ask away, If I knew the answer then I will tell you."

Renner, her eyes fixed on Ancient One, posed her question with a carefully measured tone, "You mentioned being from the same world as the Six Great Gods and Eight Greed Kings. So what were you doing in your original world to make both Great Gods and Demon Gods afraid of your presence that they even forgot their grudge and joined hands to kill you."

"You do know that I don't have to answer that question, still, you need to fulfil the contract, right?" Ancient One asked.

"Yes, I know that. You don't need to answer if you don't want to."

"But seeing that we are going to be associates, I think I can tell you that much," Ancient said with a smile, Renner felt butterflies in her stomach.

"The reason why both Greed Kings and Great Gods are afraid of me is because I have a history of hunting down their kind and destroying their home world."

"Destroyed their world? Their world means it is also your world, Right." Renner asked.

"Correct. If you want to learn anything else, I will tell you after I take you to my place. And one more thing, from now on what you are dealing with are not humans, so don't expect human courtesy, and don't try to manipulate them, as most won't appreciate that and cut your head clean." Ancient one said as he opened {Gate}.

"And Renner before going, Can you scream like you are getting kidnapped."

"Why?"

"Just do it."

"GUARDS, HELP ME, I AM GETTING KIDNAPPED. HELP ME." As Renner lets out a convincing scream as the guards outside the door break open only to see both Arthur and Renner enter {Gate}. Before entering, Arthur didn't forget to give a self-introduction.

"Tell you Lords, Ancient One took Princess as a token of appreciation." He said with a long laugh.

"Haha haha"

After dropping Renner on Nazarick, Arthur came to Slain Theocracy, not for site seeing instead to find a blonde Vampire.

[It seems like you fulfilled one of your fantasies, Sir, 'Demon King kidnapping princess'.]

'What can I say, Friday, I love my life and the way I live.'

'Hey!' Arthur replied to Friday's sarcasm.

[Sir, She is here.] Friday suddenly said.

Just then the door opened the figure of a twelve-year-old girl was revealed. She covers herself with a reddish robe and an uncanny mask that hides her face.

"Keno Fasris Invern Or should I call you Evileye, it's nice to meet you."

Seeing the intruder, Evileye don't even think twice;

"{Shard Buck Shots},"

"{Cancel}," Arthur chanted then processed with {Silence} to make the room soundproof.

"You know, it's not lady-like to attack me out of nowhere."

Evileye, her face concealed beneath the magical mask, glared at Arthur. "Who are you, and how do you know my true identity? Few possess such knowledge."

Arthur, maintaining a calm demeanour, offered a sly smile. "I'm no ordinary intruder. You can call me Ancient One. As for your identity, let's just say I have my ways of uncovering secrets."

"Ancient One? The one we are going to fight."

"No, your gods are going to fight and you will be against them." Arthur's words catch Evileye's attention.

"Why would I ever do that? I don't have any hostility towards them. They helped me from hunting down and they give me shelter."

"But they destroyed your home, Your kingdom, Your family, and Your friends in their little war and turned your kingdom into a wasteland to make a battlefield for their little feud. And here you are serving them with loyalty, truly ironic."

"You don't know me."

"I know everything about you, Evileye. From how you feel about them, to these people, this kingdom."

Evileye's eyes flickered with a mix of emotions, hidden behind her magical mask. "Even if what you say is true, why should I believe you? What do you gain from turning me against the gods?"

"I get you."

"So you are doing all this to get under my pants. What are you? A lolicon"

Even after hearing the sarcasm, Arthur didn't drop his character.

"I am not a Lolicon. And think about it. You will get a place to call home and you can also take your revenge."

"An interesting proposal, but that will only happen if you win right? What do you think your chance of winning is." Evileye said.

"99.9 per cent."

"99.9? Why don't you just say 100 per cent?" Evileye said sarcastically, then continued, "2 billion, that's the total number of people you are up against. The total population is 10 billion so you are up against one-fifth of the world's population and both Gods and Demon Gods are joining hands to defeat you so tell me do you have an army that can put against them."

"If what you said is true then my winning chance gets lower," Arthur said with a sigh.

"How much lower?"

"99.8 per cent."

"Are you serious?" Evileye asked Arthur, she couldn't believe what Arthur saying was true or false.

Hearing Evileye, Arthur replied. "Yes. I am completely serious. Think about it, I am giving you a pretty good offer here."

"But you are not better than them."

"No, I am much worse."

Just then someone knocked on the door.

"Lady Evileye, are you there." One of the soldiers asked.

"It seems like they sensed the disturbance in the magic, quiet perspective of them. So Evileye what's your choice, are you in or out, either way, I will respect your choice."

Evileye took some time to think but her decision was already clear.

Enemy of your enemy is your friend. Evileye remembers the old quote as a smile formed under her mask.

"Surshana is mine to kill," Evileye said.

"Alright then let's go," Arthur said as he opened the gate.

"It would be a shame to just leave without telling them," Arthur murmured. "{Maximize Magic: Frost Nova}, hope they will like my gift."
