Declaration of sovereignity.

That's how Jun Muyang found them when he finally came downstairs. Dressed in white from head to toe, he was a vision to behold. Mei-Mei and her mother were filling up on one snack after the other like greedy little hamsters.

He could not resist the urge to chuckle at the sight before him.

"Make sure she doesn't touch my furniture with her sticky hands." He reminded her.

Chi Lian wondered if this was the same man who wanted Mei-Mei out of his house hurriedly the last time they came over. He appeared to be more tolerable today.

"She is not leaving my arms tonight, but if she gets fussy, I would like access to your kitchen so that I can clean her hands."

He nodded and took a sit on the grey sofa opposite from them.

"Let's get down to business." He said.

He handed a business card to her, "Call that number when you need professional bodyguards. I already spoke to the owner about you so they won't charge you expensively."

"Thank you." She took the card and read the name, 'Heavenly Dragon security.'

"That's an ambitious name." she said.

"Most of the bodyguards are ex-military. They are highly trained and extremely efficient. The company is deserving of its name."

Clearly this company must have an extremely good ranking to be praised this much by the hard to please CEO Jun Muyang. His endorsement already guaranteed that she was taking her business to them.

"I will contact them tomorrow."

"Why haven't you called or texted me yet?" he asked.

He was like predator going straight in for the kill.

Chi Lian froze in shock, "Huh."

"I have never been in such a situation, so unaware of what should come next. I don't appreciate the feeling very much."

"Ooh." Chi Lian now understood why he was asking. A powerful CEO like him was not the type of man people kept waiting. In fact, when he said jump, they asked how high. She had kept him waiting and he did not like that. But on a positive note, she had been on his mind so that was good news for her.

"I apologize for my tardiness; I will work on that immediately."

"Good." He said and his attention moved to this phone. In his opinion, the conversation was mostly over.

"Why haven't you corrected the articles? Everyone thinks we are dating because that paparazzo posted a few pictures of us."

"It's not worth my time." He said in an unbothered tone.

Chi Lian's heart dropped. What exactly was not worth his time? Was it her or the gossip?

"Me or the internet gossip?" she asked just to be sure.

If he said she was not worth his time, she would walk away with immediate effect. She was not so desperate to hang onto a man that did not want her.

"The article, I have no time to follow up on every little piece of gossip about me out there in the world."

She may not have known it before, but the nervousness in her heart and knot in her stomach were clear indicators that she liked him a lot more than she originally thought. His answer was an indicator that they stood a pretty good chance.

Wenzhe who was eaves dropping on the conversation from the kitchen longed to pipe in and call his young master a liar because he always sued any media house that spread false gossip about him and any woman.

He did not just stop there; the PR team would scrub all that information from the internet immediately. Which is why they were all surprised that he had yet to put out an order to scrub off all the gossip about him and Chi Lian from the internet.

"Will you be free tomorrow?" She asked.

"I will have to ask Wenzhe about my schedule. Why?"

"My family will be going to the orphanage and I was hoping you would come along with us. We can call it our first date."

"Hmm_" he replied.

Mei-Mei who was now bored because she was out of snacks was wiggling her buttocks around and trying to escape from the clutches of her mother. Try as she might she failed because Chi Lian held on to her tighter.

Feeling aggrieved at the lack of independence, She cried and looked at Jun Muyang.

"Ada_" she stretched her hands out to him. Her big eyes were pitifully pleading with him to rescue her.

"Why is she still calling me that?" he asked.

"She is still young, how am I supposed to stop her from saying it. Besides, I am more excited because she is starting to talk."

Wenzhe came in with a fresh plate of strawberries and grapes and the crying baby immediately stopped. Her hands moved to the plate impatiently.

Chi Lian laughed at the startled Jun Muyang in the current situation.

"Why do you look so shocked?"

"She moved on from wanting me to wanting a plate of fruits very fast. Is that something she learned from you, moving on to new things so fast?"

The question was so packed to be a specific reference to a plate of fruits.

"Jun Muyang, is there something specific you want to ask me?"

"How long has it been since you broke up with that fool I found in your house today?"

"It doesn't matter when I broke up with him. What matters is how I feel right now. And right now, I have no feelings whatsoever for that man."

She paused, put down Mei-Mei who was nibbling on a large strawberry and moved to the couch where he was sitting.

"What matters now is how I feel about you."

Jun Muyang swallowed nervously because he had not anticipated her sudden closeness or the sweet scent being emitted from her body.

Chi Lian moved close to him again and slightly bent over his body, "I think I like you Jun Muyang. I like you a lot." She confessed.

"Hmph_" he smirked.

That was not the reaction she was expecting. He was wearing a smug look on his face like he was an incredibly delicious ice cream that she could not resist taking a bite out of.

Her eyes moved to his lips and she bit her lower lip.

A little heat coursed through Jun Muyang's body and he looked away from her.

"Are you dating anyone Jun Muyang?"

"No." he answered.

"Are you in love with anyone?"

"No."

"Do you have any ex-girlfriends I should watch out for?"

"No."

"Do you mind if I do my best to make you interested in me?"

"No."

"Then from now on, I am declaring that I am the only woman allowed to woo you, or come this close to you."

"Did I agree to that?"

"Yes, you have, with your eyes and your smile."

"You are delusional." He pushed her away and created a distance between them. However, his heart was beating rapidly.

For the first time in so many years, he was feeling nervous. He was not sure if he liked the feeling.
