Chapter 145- Breakfast

The day of the International Guild Conference was nearing. It was just tomorrow that all the major guild representatives from each nation would gather together to discuss the emerging crisis of the world.

Currently, Haru is in Japan—inside the Japanese Hunter Association HQ. The chairman has been inviting Haru over the past week, however since he was busy, Haru has been avoiding Matsumoto Shigeo until now.

Inside the main office, only three people could be currently seen—Haru, Reiji, and Matsumoto.

The agenda of this meeting was straight and simple, "Join the Japanese Hunter Association, Mr. Nanase."

Haru liked the fact that Shigeo didn't go around the bush and went straight to the topic of what he desired.

Haru remained silent since the older one had something more to say, "After Goto-san left us, the Japanese Hunter Association needs a leader to lead all the other S-rank hunters if disaster falls upon us again." Shigeo added with a sense of regret in his tone.

During the raid against the Monarch of Giants, two S-ranks hunters from Japan were sacrificed and one of them was Goto Ryuuji.

Haru remained silent and glanced at his father. Before coming here, Reiji had already told his son about the subject of this meeting. When Haru asked, what the current guild master of the Drawn-sword guild wanted, then Reiji clearly stated,

'Do whatever you think is right. I trust your judgment.'

It was the first time Haru had experienced parental warmth after living for millions of years. And he was fortunate to have this person as his father and the lady waiting at home for them, as his mother.

Heaving a sigh, Haru responded, "I am sorry, Chairman, but I have already joined a guild back in Korea."

Matsumoto didn't show any sign that could have signified shock. He expected much.

That's why, he recovered soon and asked Haru, "Very well, if you have already made up your mind then I won't force you. However, if something like what happened a year ago, happens again, would you assist us in keeping the civilians safe?"

Haru smiled at the man before sharing a piece of mind, "Chairman...I see humanity as a whole unit and this unit is under my protection. So you don't need to worry."

Shigeo heaved a breath of relief. Having a nationally recognized hunter (not official) say such a thing, really puts his mind to rest.

The meeting was over and the duo left not so long after.

[Inside the car]

Since Reiji didn't like the after-effects of Teleportation, he suggested taking a car to return home. Naturally, Haru concurred since he wasn't in a rush as well.

"Are you nervous for tomorrow?" Hearing the question, Haru didn't have to ask what his father meant.

"No...not much. I know what they could say or ask. I just need to remind them that our enemy isn't among us but waiting on the other side of this world." Haru casually stated while looking out of the window.

He currently was watching Jinah who was learning to bake cookies at her house back in Korea.

The Sung family bought a home in Japan and the same was true for the Sugimoto family who bought a villa in Korea. Now since Jinah had vacations before college began, the family has decided to live in Japan for some time and then go on a world trip.

'She looks excited...' Haru couldn't help but smile a little. However, his observation didn't hinder him from hearing what his father asked next,

"Don't you feel there is something massive arriving? The sudden frequent appearance of so many red gates and A-rank gates..." There was a certain emotion that seemed like nervousness in his voice.

Haru looked at his old man, before asking, "Do you trust me, Dad?"

"More than I do myself."

"Then leave everything on me. I promise you, I won't let you or anyone else incur even a scratch, if something really happens."

Reiji knew that his son was a hundred percent certain when he said that. He has already sensed that after Haru has woken up from his coma, he has become stronger...to the point where Reiji couldn't even measure where his limits lie. However, this strength and this confidence which Haru carried, terrified Reiji.

There was a feeling that there would come a time when the gap between Haru and the others would force him to...leave everyone behind. It was strange for him to have such emotions when the man had been mostly practical all his life.

But maybe because after becoming a father, he got to know that sometimes, one's emotions outweigh what seems practically impossible.

Glancing at his son, Reiji couldn't help but utter inwardly, 'I pray my worries turn out to be unwanted...'

The next day, early in the morning, Jinah found her lover standing near her bed while smiling at her.

"Morning..." She greeted him with a smile before extending her hand in his direction.

Haru took her head after crouching and rested it over her shoulder. Tucking his arms under the neck and back of his knees, he picked the girl in a bridal carry.

Jinah purred in delight upon finding her favorite warmth embracing her early in the morning. She snuggled even close to him—only to smell cologne on him which was quite unusual.

It was then that she noticed the change in him.

"Y-you...are wearing a suit?" She immediately jumped away from his arms like a cat and looked at him from head to toe.

Wearing a three-piece suit, Haru stood there with an embarrassed smile on his face. The formal attire looked extremely good on his lean physique and coupled with his messily combed hair and those pair of black glasses, he looked very sexy in her eyes.

"Jinah...why do you look like a predator?" Seeing her licking her lips so hungrily, Haru asked while slightly covering his body with his arms.

Jinah raised her brows and removed his glasses. Locking her eyes with him, she whispered, "Because today, I wanna have you as my breakfast."

In the end, Haru arrived late at the Association office.
