65.2 Improvisation

"I heard that, Ruby," he let out a guffaw as he swung his hammer with a force to rock the shelter housing us. "Don't pretend you're any better though. You're no saint either."

I raised an eyebrow as I watched the woman seem to retreat into her shell again, which was kind of becoming a pattern to her, it would seem. She'd be meek and calm before Phillipe would do or say something to set her off, which would then make her more assertive nature come out. Well, to her credit, she at least sounded more logical than the man she's constantly having a verbal war against. For that alone, she had my vote.

The fact that she was eye candy was definitely not a part of the equation in this assessment.

"I, for one, prefer her points rather than yours," I chimed in out of my own stupid need to be heard. "She seems to be more rational than you, that's for sure."
