I froze. Absently, I could only nod even as I did my best to process what she just said. Was I truly that weak? I would've thought I was doing great. Or maybe I was just so used to mediocrity that even the best I could do was still in the realm of mediocrity.
That's... pretty fvcking bad.
"Indeed," she scoffed as I audibly heard her turn another page. "Time and again, I've told you that you can be better. Everyone you knew told you you're leagues ahead of them in terms of sheer talent. And yet you refuse to push yourself to that next level."
"But it was too much work."
"Exactly. Instead, you molded your mediocrity into your own fashioned crown of normalcy," Flare pointed out. "You stopped caring. Granted, you still succeeded based on what I'm seeing, but it's still pretty bad, no?"
