The palace of a thousand nights

The snow-

Melted away.

And no- it wasn’t even morning yet.

Yet-

It just melted.

“So, this was artificial?” Maria said out loud to no one in particular.

The dragonborn looked around at each other, not a word.

“We believe so, my lady-” Xerc paused. Came closer- “There might be a spy among us.”

Maria nodded and though it felt ominous- “Let’s go greet our savior first.”

That said, they picked up the pace and readied to set out.

The forest was in front of them but there was a proper road here.

‘But why would a vampire want me to-’

She reevaluated things.

An owen noble-

Sort of an angel.

Connection to the undead queen.

‘So, they want to use me too…’ Assuming they knew of her connection to the queen.

Maria wasn’t a fan of being a pawn but at the time, she didn’t want to put everyone here in danger. Even though a possibility of a spy lurking among them seemed very reasonable.
