Reaching the empty balcony at the top corridor, Cassian stole in a deep breath as the air at the top of the balcony felt satisfyingly refreshing, and that was what he needed to cool off the anger that had him boiling earlier. He already knew not everyone would entertain the idea of his relationship with Maddie, but he expected them to be sensible enough to mind their business and respect his decision. 

To put the record straight, he was really disappointed to see no one other than Catherine act this way, and now that he's become very much aware of how she truly feels regarding his marriage, he'll have to keep Madeline away from her sight.
