Dark Road

Hearing what the other party said, Airon frowned slightly, vaguely guessing what the other party wanted to do, but asked anyway. He still remembered when he visited Oceanside, the leader of those people practically wanted nothing to do with his people.

"Yes, it's too dangerous for my people to stay in this place."

The girl next door couldn't take it anymore and stepped forward to stand in front of her group.

"Airon, my name is Cindy, last time we could only see you from afar, Natania and Alberto are my grandparents."

"Well, I remember them." Airon looked at this girl and nodded indicating that he remembered who her grandparents were.

"My grandmother was killed! More than half of our people were cruelly murdered, I can't just leave like this!"

Seeing that the girl was obviously losing her mind, Airon asked again with a nonchalant smile, "I guess it's revenge you want now, isn't it?"

Airon felt it, both in the original story and now, hatred shone in Cindy's eyes, and there was a trail of tears as she gritted her teeth and said in a choked voice, "Yes, I'm going to kill them and avenge our dead!"

"Why do you have weapons? Do you have enough people who are willing to go to that place to quite possibly die? Do you know how many people are on the other enemy side and the dangers of facing them?"

"I..."

"Cindy, that's enough..." Alberto said in a deep voice.

Hearing this, Airon looked at the stubborn old man who told him to leave and then asked, "No, it's okay. You want to borrow a gun from me now, don't you? Tell me, what will you do if I lend you the gun? Your enemies don't need to shoot you, as the walkers will eat you in a matter of seconds."

"Tell me how you're going to finish them off!"

This situation was expected but not to this extent, the saviors were much more aggressive and never planned to ask for half the stuff from different communities they attacked. What they were doing was kidnapping all the people and forcing them into forced labor in their own shelter, so Airon was taken by surprise.

He didn't expect such Saviors, for that particular reason he was confident about it. And the reason he sent his people back to Atlanta was that a large and organized force was needed, by this time the CRM should be in place, that was something that was not known with much accuracy.

And it was precisely because he believed that the Saviors would act in the same way they did in the original story that he did not put more protection in the Kingdom.

In fact, Airon sympathizes a lot with this girl, but this is not the time to take revenge, and when he saw Cindy's displeased expression, he reminded her.

"Our enemies are surrounded by thousands of undead, and I have other plans for the future.  What we need to do now is to get out of here as soon as possible. I'm not trying to persuade you, but you should know that I will not provide you with weapons or people. If you still want to pursue this revenge thing, think about your friends, are you really ready for them to be buried with you in this foolish decision?"

Cindy lowered her head slowly, her eyes were still full of fury, but obviously Airon's words made her feel calmer.

Seeing this, Airon looked at everyone and said, "I know that you are afraid, eager for revenge, and believe that you are in a dark tunnel with no light, but I promise you that my people will protect you. Surely together we can create a world within. all this ball of hate and death."

After finishing his speech, Airon wasted no more time, turned around and began to make arrangements for these survivors.

Cindy was still standing there, wondering if she was really okay, while Alberto patted her shoulder and quietly comforted her.

With a little over four hundred people starting to squeeze into the trucks. Although these trucks were made to carry people, they were still a bit cramped due to the limited space, but this is not a problem to consider.

Cindy climbed into the truck at the end, just not realizing that for now, she really couldn't do this kind of thing if she was really asked to carry her own people to die.

Airon on his side took the radio and reported, "We will split into two groups, I want the Humvees to be ready to support us at any time. The force should hold and go one step behind the group leading the way, this would help us in case of an ambush."

"Yes, sir!"

Most of the walkers were now near the Saviors' base, so the trucks could drive around the outside of the warehouse. The modified RV took the lead, and a group of trucks began to slowly drive out of the warehouse, following far behind those ahead.

There is a small road on the east side of town where they can take a detour. It takes a few more kilometers to reach the main road to the south. As soon as Airon left the city, he turned on the headlights and the dark road was instantly illuminated. There were small groups of walkers approaching the city but it was not important.

Attracted by the headlights, the walkers concentrated on the front of the convoy without fear of death. But the driver knew that the farther he was from town, the fewer walkers would come out on the road. Therefore, the modified RV had no intention of slowing down along the way, so the advance was faster instead.

Boom! Boom! CRACK!

The walkers in the middle of the road could not stop the advancing convoy. Airon looked at his watch, and the arrival time should be midnight. This mission took longer than expected, but all was well.

Just as he was thinking about how to persuade these people to leave Washington, he suddenly heard explosions coming from the direction of the city.

First, there was a sound of explosion around the city, and the great sound accompanied by the towering flames brought a great sense of shock to the people in the convoy!

A small building on the south side of the city slowly collapsed in the violent explosion. The direction of the fall was a road leading out of town. There was a billow of smoke and dust. In the dark night, only on the road could one faintly see how a building was buried.

The same scene happened at the exits of several small points. After this explosion, the entrances and exits of the entire town were sealed, which meant that the large group of walkers introduced earlier were trapped in the small town.

This means that the Saviors are also trapped there, and it is very difficult for them to rely on outside help to get all those walkers out of their domain.

This is, of course, George's masterpiece, not only getting out of the town, but also planting a ticking time bomb at the Saviors' base.

At this moment, George was looking at the watch on his wrist, he suddenly looked towards the center of town in the distance, and a flash of light went off, followed by a rumbling explosion.

He frowned slightly, looked at the time again in a strange way, waited about half a minute, and then gritted his teeth reluctantly.

"Damn it!"

Airon looked back and asked a little strangely, "What's the matter, didn't it explode?"

"Well, it didn't exactly, it missed two detonations otherwise it could have completely destroyed the enemy's factory."

"Forget it, one explosion is enough to deal with most of them, at least those walkers are enough."

...

On the way south of the city, a team of about forty people stared dumbfounded at their base in the distance. The small building that was perfectly standing had been reduced to rubble with the sound of that explosion. The large group of people wondered what had happened to cause the explosion.

If they had not been tasked with intercepting the enemy and instead were now at their base, they would probably be buried in the ruins by now.

A young man in the group in the darkness looked at the burning main base and said with some hesitation. "What should we do, should we save our people or stop here?"

Just as Hiro was about to ask, the radio in his hand suddenly made a loud noise.

Then, the boss's familiar voice came from inside, and Hiro could clearly hear that the boss's voice was full of tyrannical attempts to kill.

"Hiro, you fucking bastard! Stop those sons of bitches for me, and if they get away, don't you even dare come in one piece, you hear me?"

"Yes, boss! I'll definitely stop them!"

Leaving the radio, Hiro touched the cold sweat on his forehead. He knew very well that the boss was really angry, and now they had to work hard to appease that fury.

A group of people lined up several cars in the middle of the road, and then took out all the weapons and equipment that were placed, preparing to stop the enemy at this point.

At this point, Airon's convoy also turned off towards the southern road. Airon checked the time and it was already past one o'clock in the middle of the night. Before he knew it, more than five hours had passed.

So far, the plan has gone very well, except for two bombs that didn't detonate, but overall that problem is not a big one. Next, he plans to take these people directly to Alexandria, where they will be examined briefly before a decision is made about their future.

After all, there are about a hundred people here that he didn't know before. Thinking about this, he couldn't help but think of Alicia. She along with her mother were in charge of closely examining the people entering that base, so right now memories of her appeared in Airon's mind.

"Salazar should be in charge of that, but he is not in this place.... He should leave that task to someone else, someone who can thoroughly see people."

Thinking about these things, his attention got a little distracted and he didn't notice that a group of people suddenly appeared in front of him.

Bam!

In a moment, several bright light sources suddenly flashed in front of him, his pupils constricted, but he was still slightly blinded for a moment, and before he could react, he heard a burst of gunfire.

Crack! Crack! Crack!

Bang! Bang! Bang!

Bang!

Suddenly a few clusters of white fog-like cracks appeared on the front windshield of the modified RV, violent gunfire also erupted on the road and fire snakes ignited in the surrounding area.

Airon secretly cursed and George who was in the driver's seat suddenly turned the steering wheel, the speed also slowed down accordingly and began to speed forward.

Just as the speed of the car slowed down a little, he turned the steering wheel again and the RV moved sideways on the road, but the sounds of the side armor rang out unceasingly.

"Zz... We're under attack, repel enemy fire! Attack with everything you've got!"
