CHAPTER 84

"You will go as far as Winterfell with this convoy, and when you get there, give this letter to Sir Rodrik Cassel. He will arrange a seat for you in the military barracks but do not swear allegiance to the Starks. You are going to be my men."

Kegan asked in confusion.

"Aren't you working for Starks too?"

"Not exactly; in time, I will be leaving Winterfell. I will not stay as a knight, and I will become a noble. Of course, it is up to you to decide who you are going to serve."

"We want to serve you."

"Right."

"Okay then, when Sir Rodrik sees your talent, he is going to try and steal you, but I explained in my letter. You guys are my men."

After sending the twins on their way, I left the Barrowton.

........

It has been three months since I left Barrowton, and I have been around Torrhen's Square for a month too. These are really beautiful and a region where the elements of nature are very intense. Because there is a big lake, there is not only a nature element but also a water element in abundance. I learned two new spells thanks to the elements in this area.

Ronvaiēdar (walk on water), as the name states, allows the caster to walk on water for half an hour. It costs 15 mana and has a 1 hour cooldown because it is strenuous to cast it. For now, I'm not able to cast it on someone else, but in the future, I might be able to.

The other spell is called Melada tegon(meld with earth). With this spell, as Imu does, I can dive into the soil, but I can't dive into the rocks, and I can only dive 1 meter deep. Because I can't breathe underground, I can only move inside the earth as long as I can hold my breath, and my movement speed is halved when I'm underground. This will be so good for ambushes and retreating.

It would have been so much cooler if I had this while running away from the Bolton soldiers. If I'm buffed it, I would be moving at 4.5 speed underground, and it is almost as fast as an average human's running speed. It costs two mana every five seconds underground.

After walking on the Torrhen lake for fun and giving some fishermen heart attacks as Druid Emrys, I had come up to the fishing boat and waved at them. Some of them were waving at me with gaping mouths, while others were sending a prayer to the old gods.

After here, I decided to first go to the Rills, then cut through the Rills to reach Blazewater Bay. After there, I will go up north to the Stoney Shores and, lastly, Deepwood Motte. With it, my Northern journey would come to an end.

......

The Rills, as the name suggests, has many streams and brooks but, at the same time, a bit of a mountainous region. There is some farmable land at the southern end of the Rills, but the cold sea breezes affect the yield negatively. I have spent three months in this region. After healing people as Emrys and destroying some bandit strongholds as Aermir, I have left the Rills.

......

After passing through the Rills, I reached Blazewater Bay. I have been doing the same things for a month: healing and killing. As I made my way down the paths running parallel to Blazewater Bay in the direction of Stony Shore, I noticed that many trees had been cut down on this shoreline.

From Rills to the Wolfswood, this area is famous for durable woods: like pine and ironwood. Most of the trees in this part were cut down. I continued to follow the coastline, and when Poe announced that about 100 people were cutting trees about 3-4 km away, I used the familiar sight to see what was happening.

People were working like bees and loading the felled trees onto ships on the beach, but the crests on the ships' sails were not familiar at all. Definitely not House Ryswell's because I saw theirs a month ago, and it is a black horse's head, eyes, and mane red, on bronze within a black engrailed border, but this crest had a bone hand, white on red.

"Authenticate sails"

Information started to flow into my head. House Drumm of Old Wyk is a noble house from the Iron Islands. Ironborns! What the hell are those sea rats doing here? Are they stealing it, or did the Ryswell's made a trade agreement with them? I'm ninety percent sure they are stealing, but it wasn't illegal to trade with Ironborns. It was just frowned upon.

At that moment, I decided to use Poe to check the entire coastline all the way to Stony Shore, and after flying about 50-60 km, I came back to a hundred or two hundred men cutting trees. All around the coastline, I saw two more ironborn houses: House Blacktyde of Blacktyde and House Orkwood of Orkmont. Why are they stealing that much wood? What are those wet rats planning?

I have broken my connection with Poe and ordered her to return. What should I do? Should I go back to the House Ryswell and tell them what was going on? I thought about it a bit, and I shouldn't do that if these assholes are stealing this openly either House Ryswell betrayed the north or, the more likely possibility, there are traitors among Ryswells' retainers.

Every basket will have some rotten eggs. When I was in their house, I found Rodrik Ryswell's loyalty to the Starks a bit lacking, but the poison in his tongue when he was talking about ironborn was genuine. It is doubtful Rodrik Ryswell would make deals with ironborns.

What happened here didn't smell good at all; something was wrong. So I decided to leave my northern trip unfinished and head back to Winterfell. When Poe got back, I decided to come up with a plan.

"How big can you magnify your current murders, Poe and Erebus?"

"Daddy, I can make it around 60."

"You?"

"If Poe can do it, I can do it too."

After hearing that, Poe said.

"Can you even count up to 60?"

"Shut up. I can make it as big as yours!"

"Okay! Then I'm going to leave you guys here. Make your murders as big as possible and start patrolling the sea. By sending your ravens in a rotation, create a cordon on the sea. If you see ships coming, message me immediately."

All of my land familiars become almost as big as a tiger. So bringing them to towns was a no-no, and their hide had become so thick arrows couldn't penetrate it now. While we were training in the space, they had become killing machines.

Arrows can't harm them as long as they are not hit in the eyes, and most swords can't cut them deep in areas with thick muscles.

Because I killed so many bandits, the training space had become as big as 100x100, and there were more than 250 dummies.

"Lyka and Berus, you should leave and get packs too when we get to the wolfswood. Berus, you won't be able to find many dogs as strong as we need, so move with Lyka."

I turned to Sith; she was lashing her thick, furry tail and waiting for my command.

"You should come with me; we should try our chance at the Northern Mountains. I have read there are many shadowcats at The Vale, but it is too far, and there must be some in the north, too."
