CHAPTER 39
After Rodrik left, the other people gradually lost their fear and curiosity toward Imu, returning to their businesses. Robb's scolding must have worn off; Arya and Bran were starting to be hyperactive again. After I put Imu in my shirt, stark kids and I continued to play with the dogs, but a puppy caught my eye. This pup looked very skinny and sickly. Realizing that I was looking at the pup, Arya also came next to me and looked at it.
"Aermir, what is wrong with this puppy?"
"I don't know, Arya, it looks sick." While I was talking with Arya, the kennel master came over to us.
"This runt of the litter was born ill, and his mother abandoned it to raise the healthy ones, and we expect him to die soon." Arya's eyes started to water suddenly, and she spoke in a slightly tearful voice.
"Aermir, we have to save it; it looks really pitiful. Please, let's help it. "
"I don't know if it can even be saved."
"Why? Didn't you always say that you knew medicine and herbs very well? Please use your knowledge and save it."
"Okay, I will try to cure it, but I promise nothing; it is very sick and might even die on the morrow."
After saying goodbye to the others, I set off with the puppy to my room. I don't think there is a way to cure this pup with herbs; at least, the herbs I have on hand won't work if I had more potent herbs; maybe it would work. The other method is magic, but I don't have any magic that can heal right now.
I can think of another method related to magic, but I have never tested this method. This method came to my mind when I named Imu and saw Mana enter his body. After I name my familiars, they are able to collect Mana; I wonder if normal animals can collect Mana in their bodies without being my familiar?
-Poe, Erebus, come to my room; I need to talk to you.-
After a few minutes, they entered the room through my window. I collect some mana on my hand and ask,
"You guys know what this is, right?"
"Yes, Daddy, it is…."
"Mana wind! Did you forget what it is called, stupid Aermir?"
"It is not called mana wind, you stupid bird. It is mana, ma-na!!!"
"you are stupid; all of your family is stupid."
"you don't even know mana wind is called mana wind!"
There is no way to have a decent conversation with this muscle-brain; let's just ignore him. I took a deep breath and continued.
"How do you collect Mana? Can you tell me?"
"Mana wind!"
"Erebus, if you open your big beak again, I will pluck all of your feathers!"
"I knew it! You are jealous of my beautiful feathers; you can't have them! They are mine, stupid Aemir, ugly featherless Aemir! You will never be as handsome as me."
My face started to twitch really hard; I felt like a volcano ready to erupt. I used full body letagon (snare) to paralyze him. he looked like a statue on the table.
"Peace at last." I turned back to Poe, and we continued.
"As Daddy said, mana goes to the heart when training."
"What! That can be true!" Does she mean what I think it means? No, that can't be true.
"Poe, come here." I raised my arm so she could perch on it. When she landed on my arm, I placed my hand on her chest and tried to feel her Mana. I was shocked; she really has Mana in her heart, which is tiny, but there is Mana in there. She is basically creating a mana heart. Is it the same with Erebus? The spell was losing its effect, and he was beginning to thaw."
"Erebus, how are you collecting it?"
"Collecting what?"
(vein bulging on forehead)
"I'm asking, how are you collecting corn?"
"Stupid Aermir, why would I collect corn? I don't even like corn."
Be patient Aermir, Be patient. It might be a bit smart, but it is still a bird.
"My magnificently smart Erebus, what were we talking about?"
"We were talking about mana wind; then stupid Aermir started talking about corn."
"that is it! I'm going to pluck every feather you have. You stupid raven, if you know what we are talking about, then why aren't you telling me how you are collecting Mana? Better yet, come here; I will look myself."
"I won't come! Do you think I m stupid like you? You just said you would pluck my beautiful feathers. Ugly Aermir, you are just jealous, aren't you?"
Deep breaths, deep breaths. Don't get sucked into his tornado of stupidity.
Sometimes I m thinking he is more intelligent than Poe but he is acting like this because he enjoys torturing me and raising my blood pressure.
"Come here, don't worry, I won't hurt you; I just want to SMOTHER you with love."
I finally convinced him to come to me, and when I checked his Mana, I noticed that he wasn't collecting it in one spot. His Mana was spread all over his body, meaning that his Mana covered every part of his body, including his muscles, bones, blood, and skin, but what he was doing was close to what I was thinking of doing to the dog. I need to nourish its whole body; I don't think it will work if I nourish a part of it. The question is whether this will work because Mana will enter its body unwillingly with my control, unlike my familiars. I held the puppy in my arms while stroking its head and talking to it.
"If this method doesn't work, you will be dead in a few days anyway, please forgive me for what is about to happen, but it's the only way to save you. I opened his jaw and put a rolled cloth inside so it wouldn't clench its teeth so hard and break them. I slowly collected the Mana in the environment and started circling it around me. This way, once I start using Mana, I don't have to focus too much on moving it.
