“This is all your fault!” Emily screamed at me. “None of this would have happened if I hadn’t met you. None of this would have happened if you’d just left me alone! My grandpa would still be alive!”

As much as I wanted to tell her that she was wrong. As much as I wanted to tell her that she was grieving and she didn’t mean what she said, she was right about almost everything. I should have just left her alone that day and I tried. I tried to ignore the force of the Pull that was driving me crazy over her. I tried to stay away, I tried not to resist the Pull and I failed and now this war with Baltazar had cost Emily her only other living family member.
