Stoop to conquer

"Nut stop this madness!! " Shu shouted as Nut was already out of control, raining hail all over Egypt, even on innocent mortals. "Nut stop this at once, l don't want to be pushed to fight you" Shu said trying to stop her.

Immediately, the other gods came into the scene, all armed and ready to stop Nut's hail. "Nut, " her father started "you're a brave goddess and of Ra blood. Please get a hold of you self, stop the hail and let's talk about this." He pleaded with a sad tone. But Nut wasn't the least affected by his voice. She was determine to destroy all Egypt before the other gods came in, and she knew she didn't stand a chance in a tuzzle with them.

At this, Nut just calmed a little, her eyes were back to their sky blue color. She turned to Shu and stopped glowing. She landed on her feet and took her mortal form, and sat on her throne. Shu did the same and did the other gods, as they stood just a few paces away from Shu being ready for anything. Shu walked upto her, thinking that maybe she could be calmed finally or even gauged again. He didn't loose gaurd though, as he focused on her thoughts so that whenever he perceives even the slightest threat, he would act first and have the upper hand.

Nut took deep breathes and said "where is Geb? ".

Shu decided to choose his words carefully because the whole Egypt might depend on it. "He is not here". He answered, void of emotions.

Nut was already getting fumed, but she glared at the other gods, who sensed her rage especially Horus. she just took deep breathes and calmed again, before talking. "l know he is not here so where is he? ". It was so obvious that she was holding back her rage from the sound of her voice.

"He's alive and well" Shu said now focusing intently at Nut. He knew she was losing, but she was in her mortal form so he could snap out her air if she tried to do anything funny, before other gods could do something drastic to her. They all have heard of the tie between Nut and Geb, and weren't joyed about it all especially those who had eyes on either of the gods but couldn't purse due to their incest. So they all were against it and everything it caused especially the current situation at hand.

"He is no longer here Nut, so quit the drama, get a hold of yourself and be the god you were born as not a mad mortal maiden in love." Shu said now fumed. The thought of it alone, incured his rot and he must punish rot duly as he had done to Geb too. Nut also has to share in the punishment of a crime they comitted together. "Agree with me and bend to my sentence for your for punishment, and live or, disagree with me and don't bend to my sentence for your punishment, and lose your will to the hands of death.

Nut was too smart to act foolish. She still wanted to be with her Geb. And in order for that to become a reality, she had to stay alive for him. She stood up and made few paces, to and fro trying to gain totally control of herself. Though she couldn't read thoughts, but she was sure that her father, as well as the other gods were one step each ahead of her if she should try to do anything funny. They knew something she didn't and in order to find that out, she has to play along. She decided to stoop to conquer.

"Ok father thou has spoken as thou pleaseth. Thy daughter, goddess of the sky is now bent on thy words, to believe all that thou has said as it pertaineth thy son and my brother Geb. That he is well and alive. I surrender to thy judgment to carry out all that thou request of me as judgment for the rot that l have incurred". She said with her god tone , ending with a slight bow. All the gods were surprised, what lead to the sudden change, and did she now wish to be judged. Though they were atleast satisfied that she was bending to authority, but they weren't comfortable with her decision. The Nut they all knew has never used her god tone as a sign if bowing to authority or surrendering to authority. She only speaks that way if she's addressing or blessing mortals. But for her to use it now means something they couldn't understand.

Shu wasn't the least astonished. What did she mean by stooping to conquer, and what was her plan on getting the information she desired . Shu was fully aware that if Nut should know about what happened to Geb, she would give up even her last breathe just to bring him back to herself. He always knew she was obsessed with her brother and what Geb felt for her was attraction and lus. That was why he decided to send him away, so that he can know true love and find a consort of his own even if it be a mortal atleast it was better than inscest.

However, he decided to play dumb and move by the shadow of Nut's actions. "As thou has said today, may it be and remain in times to come". He said in his god tone as well. He turned to the other gods and nodded to them that Nut was back to her senses. They nodded back and began to desperse one after the other.

After they all left, the warrior gods and gaurds seized her immediately on Shu's command. "Throw her into the dark hole in my abode, where she shall no longer exercise her will anymore, till she has carried out her judgment" Shu said with authority.

She was going to be judged before other gods and immortals as well. That was how the failed gods of Egypt were tried and punished. However, Nut was determined to pass through all of that, just to be with her Geb.
