Going on a hunt

Today is the day(wink), the moment we are going on a hunt for my second soul ring. Honestly what a pain it is being a soul master with a water element martial soul. The sea is so dangerous, it's harder to search for soul beasts, they have an advantageous environment, and at last are underwater.

However this is the fate I placed on myself, no other way out of here now. Besides it's not like I'm mad at it, this martial soul came out good. There is also its second awakening that will make it much stronger than it is currently.

I also think I'm quite close to reaching the heart of water elements, my little breakthrough in water elements really caused my comprehension of them to skyrocket. I also think I know the direction I want this martial soul to go.

I have realised it after some training with my water pen and extensive thinking, my first soul skill certainly helped me in realising this as well. I have been thinking then, what if all of my soul skills add effects to it rather than abilities, like my rupture effect from the first martial soul.

I would create attacks just from my control of water elements while my soul skill would simply make them much more deadly. That would be quite strong indeed, or at least I think it would be.

Well let's set my eyes for something else right now, and of course this something else is the soul beast hunt right before my eyes, I'm quite excited for it. The previous soul ring for my water pen was a significant boost.

My physical strength rose quite a bit but mostly it was my defence that rose from absorbing it, not surprising considering my what the beast this soul ring came from was. My martial soul also had some subtle changes nothing much, it just got much harder but duller instead.

It's about time I start moving, they should be waiting for me at this point can't make them wait for my own soul beast. I should already be as ready as I can possibly be with my current resources.

I get up and start leaving the room, our agreed place was the beach as there is no reason at all to meet up here in the hut. Each step I took got me more excited thinking about my future soul ring and soon enough I reached the beach.

Standing there was Weles and Yi Hen, as well as one boat. I quickly go up to them.

Weles:"Good it seems everyone is here already."

Cai:"Everyone? We are the only ones going there?"

Weles:"Of course we are, there is no need for more. I also wanted to take Yuhe with us if there are any accidents but we would have to protect her while fighting."

Weles:"This little team of us is enough on the other hand, we have 2 suitable spirit masters to fight on water as well as Yi Hen who has a good support and control martial soul. Don't worry this set up is more than enough to get you a spirit beast of 30 thousand years of age"

Cai:"If you say that I have no reason not to believe you, let's go push the boat onto the water now."

Both of them nodded and we went to grab the boat, carrying it together we soon ended up on the sea.

Cai:"By the way how exactly are we going to find a beast for me?"

Weles:"We get lucky. At most I can move the water around us a bit to lure one, well that's how it always is so don't get too sad because of it"

'It seems we will be here for quite a while"

Weles ordered us to move further away from the shore, usually soul beasts above 10k year old won't get close to it at all. The ones we encountered before were exceptions, as the first one was chased away, while the second one most likely got lured by the blood. Well crabs certainly aren't known for their intelligence so no wonder.

Though at this point I think Weles is just lazing around, he doesn't help at all. Even though it's obvious we won't encounter anything dangerous for us at all in this parts of the sea.

Weles:"What are you looking at me like that for, someone needs to navigate here"

I roll my eyes and continue on with my work, only after 1 whole hour did we finally stop as Weles signalled us to. The benefits of being the leader sure are big.

Weles:"Okay around here is quite good, we were swimming in a straight line so far this time we will just move around in this distance from the shore while I check for spirit beasts"

And so our grand search for soul beasts began, honestly what a pain it was. There was nothing literally nothing suitable for me nor of the right age, we did get some 10k year old level but they weren't enough. We were the ones intruding upon their territory so we only made them escape.

Well not entirely true, it would just take too much energy to fight them and Yuhe isn't here to recover us, it's just safer overall. After all even if they aren't suitable sea soul beasts bodies are quite the treasures in themselves, so of course it would be nice to keep them.

Honestly I don't feel bad for soul beasts at all, I quite can respect the soul land 1 soul beasts, but 2 and 3. I hate them so much, hypocrites, self-centred hypocrites. They think they are in the right cause they are the ones hunted, but weren't they doing the same before humans learned how to cultivate?

They got thrown off they high horse and got mad that's all what happened, you could see how arrogant all of the 100k year old soul beasts were back in soul land 1. While here in Huo Yuhao era, they were sending beast tides on people, most likely because they got a sense of urgency from soul technology.

They even dare to call human selfish, aren't they the same? A lot of them are doing the same things humans do, and in soul land 3 they still though they should be the kings of this plane, doesn't that just show their true colours? At the very least humans don't try to hide they are doing bad things.

Didn't they themselves killed each other and other humans to gain cultivation, or cultivation resources? The humans back in soul land 3 were willing to change things, it just so happened that soul beasts are too old for their own good and remember all of their old grudges.

If the humans still could remember the times were soul beasts reigned supreme I think they would just kill them all long ago. I'm 100% sure, in that times they were either treating us as playthings or food.

Thankfully they had a sensible leader such as Gue Yuena that somehow managed to smooth things out, honestly because Di Tian was such an idiot things would have gone far worse. I don't really think soul beasts had any way of winning that war actually.

If all 3 countries attacked them full force, we would suffer loses but that's all. They on the other hand would be annihilated.

I'm sorry my hatred for them slipped up a bit, well it's not like I'm going to kill every single soul beast I can get my hands on from this point on, that would be quite stupid.

Well continuing on with our soul beast searching journey, it was quite long we moved in the morning and the sun is already setting while we still haven't found anything interesting. Such a thankless task this is, well we are moving out to slaughter soul beasts for our own benefit so there isn't any need to thank us anyway.

Cai:"We still haven't found anything good so far haven't we?"

Weles:"That seems to be the case."

Cai:"We are all tired already, let's leave this for another time it's not like the sea can escape"

Weles:"Indeed I agree, we had no luck today, that means we should try again when fortune does as good"

I guess the effects of my luck enhancing from my bloodline aren't omnipotent.

We started to turn around and move back to the shore, and after 5 minutes something was wrong, a silent sound of water splitting was heard by one of us, all of us quickly tensed up.

Weles:"Get ready everyone"

We quickly summoned our martial souls, two rings rose up from below my feet, as I summoned my Ice brush, 4 from Yi Hen and 5 from Weles.

Weles:"Stay Vigilant and don't let your guard down we still don't know the age of this soul beast"

And so we started observing our surroundings.

Well now this is all for this chapter, It was kind of just talking and I'm sorry that you had to go through it but I just kind of felt I had to write this? It's hard to say, since this chapter wasn't supposed to came out like that instead it was just supposed to be the fight with the soul beast and absorbing the soul ring if it would fit. At the very least the next chapter can start right with the fight thanks to this one so hey, let's look for the positives.
